Got mine for christmas, it's amazing actually the sense of precision is unrivaled by anything outside of mouse and maybe stylus, the only thing I don't like is the cheap lightweight feel.

No you're right.

Only advantage the steam controller has is if a controller map doesn't exist it mimics M+KB. So for games like Civ you can play with a controller and not have to worry about another program to map inputs

The pro controller needs to be a bit comfier to use and be built better than it is, it's kind of like a cheaper xbox 360 controller. But you can't top that 80-hour wireless battery life, that shit is ridiculous.
