What's with the recent surge of C&C threads on /v/? Did something new come out? Not that I'm complaining though.

At least C&C3 didn't do that stupid shit with ore nodes and at least knew some of what people liked from the series. Decent campaign too.

None of the C&C games resemble Starcraft that much in any particular way outside of the obvious similarities both series share due to both being old school rts games. Unless you count having 3 factions automatically makes a game a starcraft clone.

I remember people being disappointed with Sun, but I think it's the one with the most developed tone, so maybe I'd go with it.

C&C and Red Alert are pretty fucking good still, though.

I recommend checking out Universe at War as well. It's a bit mediocre, but it has couple neat things about it and the soundtrack is bretty good.

I like RA3 more than CnC3 because I wasnt that big of a fan of the tiberium side of the genre.

As far as copying Sarcraft goes, that's Generals' territory.
The original simply borrowed the formulas but Generals 1 threw out so many things that made C&C unique in favor of emulating Starcraft it made me question the devs' chances many times over.
EA, by the looks of things, saw it the same way as I did.

tiberian sun beats all of them by a mile and has godtier music but tiberium wars is a pretty good game and i found it to be more fun than ra3 which is also decent
