No problem, you're welcome.
I hope ES2's combat does something better than the original's stupid card system

>expansion victory
What a bullshit. So they could win because they put their filthy asses on way more planets? This should just make them have more resources than other races, not instant win the game.

I like it so far but I'm only 6 hours in. It kinda emulates (what I feel) it could be like to be a commander anticipating the enemy's moves. If you were commanding a huge ship indirectly through the station hands reaction time would be less of a factor than having an experienced commander with sound tactics and good intuition. But, like I said, I'm only six hours in. I think it could be a lot more fun, though, if you picked a hand before battle and played them in real time instead an order chosen before battle. The later just leaves fucked if you pick wrong and losing that way isn't to fun.

>because they put their filthy asses on way more planets
kek yeah, that's one victory condition
I think it's pretty standard among most - if not all - 4x games. It's frustrating and puts a good degree of pressure on you when you're starting out and don't know the game, but once the controls are second nature and you have a firm grasp on game mechanics like research trees and such, then it's not such a problem.

I really hope Amplitude puts some work into making the interface less sterile in ES2. The tiny, painfully generic fonts and icons make it feel so... lifeless. Endless Legend was better about this with its illustrated backdrops and so forth, although still less evocative than, say, MOO2.
Also card combat a shit.
