>Sega ports a few games to PC
>They sell so well, they're considering porting even more and even bringing new games to PC
>SNK ports a few KoF games to PC
>They sell so well, they ditch pachinko and return to game development
When have you EVER heard of a console port selling so well it revived a company?
Do consolefags actually like vidya anymore?
Do you have any sources to back up that claim?
>Agatsuma ports Umihara Kawase trilogy on PC
>It sells so poorly the company goes under and the games get removed from storefronts
>Any multiplat gets a PC port
>Gets about 10% of overall sales
Don't delude yourself, you didn't buy shit. That's why PC gaming is dead.
>PC gaming is dead
>consistently gets big name multiplats, constant after release ports, is the first stop for the entirety of the independent development community and has countless genres that straight up don't exist anywhere else
That post purchase rationalisation though
When will the Pachinko meme die?
In 2014 Konami only released PES 2014, Lords of Shadow 2 and Ground Zeroes, and those 3 games managed to make almost 3 times more than their Pachinko division.
>Sega & SNK port a few ancient games to PC
>They work on the toasters 90% of Steam users have, so they sell well enough the devs are considering porting even more ancient garbage
PC gaming is alive, as long as you release old ass games or retropixel indieshit that can run on masterracer's prebuilt shitboxes.
>console hardware is so behind all games run perfectly on toasters
It's not wrong. Unless the game is a modder's delight and you can run it on low graphix ala Skyrimsexdungeon, or it's so assold or asspixels that PC users shitboxes can actually run it, if neither of those are true then the PC market share is super low. The percentage of PCs that can actually run new games at glorious 60fps1080p is so astronomically low its barely worth mention.
Wow, at last your PC can run a PS3 game, what an achievement.
Wishful thinking and a lack of source doesn't bend reality. But go on, delude yourself that soon you will be finally playing some games.
>we will keep SNK alive
Just like you kept these guys alive, huh.
And no, buying a game months later 90% off doesn't qualify as caring about developers.
>successful arcade games
>had their own (really expensive) console
>console fans kept it alive for SEVEN years
>jumped to pachinko when HD costs where too high
>PC port beggars are now latching on
Yes, they do.
It's just that the WiiU and the PS4 are both extremely unattractive for Japan.
And no, it's not mobile's fault, just look at the 3DS.
Just wait for their next platforms, I'm sure they'll do much much better.
Agatsuma went down because they were always extremely retarded.
What broke them was the extremely pointless Sayonara Umihara Kawase Vita port that sold absolutely nothing and left a bad aftertaste on the Umihara fanbase that supported the 3DS game, all this over the already bad rep not updating CoP Japanese release gave them.
The Steam ports were too late and not advertised in any way.
They were simply a terrible publisher.
There are much smaller ones on Japan, some consisting of just a couple people, but are much more clever and actually know how to do well.
