New alpha build's out. The whole first area seems to be done, there's new puzzles we can complete. Can't pick up items yet though
The riddles were the point of the game anon.
>DO THE MARIO XDDD
Are you supposed to go back to that girl giving you hints every time you are stuck in the game?
I personally just went for an online guide after a while because those riddles were BS and I learned later about the girl so I don't know.
Trying random shit to make some other random shit happen in some remote area is not my idea of a fun puzzle.
I sometimes can't figure out a solution to a puzzle and then I give up and read it in the walkthrough. In any reasonably designed game, when I read the solution I'm like: "ah yeah, I should have thought about that".
In La Mulana, you read the solution and you're like: "what the in the name of fuck is that nonsensical bullshit?"
She only gives hints relative to your overall progress. So if you're stuck on some puzzle you wouldn't normally be at until much later she won't have anything to say. your hints are all the little monuments spread throughout the world to read.
I mean shit man, I'm playing an alpha where I can't pick up items, only have the whip and only certain doors work and I've made it through several zones.
Also killing these two enables the trigger that says you have this rune. That's even more I can explore even though I can't pick up items.
Hard part is living.
Talk about the Uncanny Valley of pixel size in these graphics..
Looks like someone's an elitist cunt that thinks this game is somehow perfect.
Mind me, I found it great, but its controls are terrible, the platforming is laughable, the difficulty for combat is non-existent past a certain point and some puzzles were really bullshit, eg when you have to backtrack to some area you completed ages ago to see that the button you triggered did actually do something there; but in a totally non-intuitive location.
Controls are fine if you understand how they work. Of course, if you're an idiot you're gonna just jump forward and wonder why you can't move backwards mid-jump instead of figuring out how to actually control your jumps well.
The game makes you think you do at least, because I don't remember any link between the two areas.
Also I used a Jewel from another area to summon and kill the guardian, because you're not supposed to know the area has a jewel aswell.
>because I don't remember any link between the two areas.
Then you didn't get very far at all did you?
Not playing so it can all be fresh for me in the final game.
They've changed the goddess statue puzzles between each alpha, so I'm sure the final game will have a different one as well.
Also I suggest trying their really old alpha on the old engine since all the controls worked and you could pick up items.
what are YOU talking about? There's 2x8 (kinda) fields and only 8 guardians.
If I remember correctly there's even an area that has the jewel in the counter part while the ankh is in the normal part.
Couldn't think of a better argument already?
There's 8 fields and a front and a back to each field. And there's multiple exits from each field to other fields and interactions in one field can easily affect another field entirely.
Stop talkin like you know shit because you googled something.
I did play that first demo, it was good stuff.
Not sure if you're going all out or are ignoring all the issues with the controls out of stupidity, and wasn't even thinking about the lack of air control.
Yes, there were other games with terrible controls in the 90s, so what?
Sorry but I don't get how much of an idiot would you have to be to not guess that every area with the boss has the jewel, and the part you might be refering to might be twins labyrinth, which is pretty much one large area made of two sides
To be fair though, I do agree that solving a puzzle in one room and it having an impact on a entirely different room across the ruins with no indication of it, was pretty damn bullshit
>1 of 8 pieces
Oh boy, what cryptic shit is this going to be? We'll need 8 anons who have different pieces scan that shit so we can put it together?
When you fall, you fall straight down
When you jump up, you jump up
When you jump with a running start, you jump in that direction
Is that really so fucking hard to understand?
