How is Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate compared to Monster Hunter

The controls could be better, particularly if it were on the Wii U, but this is honestly my favorite Monster Hunter.
Everything just feels so right about it.

It is really, really, really better than MH3U.

No water combat.
Smoother, faster gameplay. (You don't lose all your momentum after huge falls and you can climb much faster, and do jump attacks)
More Monster
More Poogie outfits
Superior Waifu
Customizable companion Felynes.
Kut Ku's back and kicks some ass.
You're not stuck into a single boring hub town anymore.
Cool ass cutscenes where you see your hunter do some cool ass stuff

They improved on almost everything

I thought the new climbing system seemed really gimmicky and wouldnt use it but its really smooth and adds new gameplay elements while still keeping it the monster hunter you know and love

Can I play this game on a normal 3DS and still enjoy it?
I've been playing MHFU on the PSP recently and I can't imagine doing it without the claw technique.

No, Phil just got incredibly lucky. Gypceros didn't even do its play dead attack and he almost killed Gendrome since he skipped the capture tutorial text and assumed you had to break all the parts and make it limp for it to be captureable.
