>I want a FF7 remake.
I used to have that same opinion but pic related is kind of easing me into the idea...
>implying you wouldn't want Honey Bee Inn with glorious HD models and textures
That sure is a nice character model and copy pasted field/forest.
Get back to me when they have the time/money to make this in that quality graphics without losing any details
>I meant more the look itself, but honestly, I wouldn't say no to a DMC-clone of FF7, only instead of cycling weapons/styles, you cycle through party members.
That sounds neat, but I'd take anything that isn't turn based at this point, honestly.
>I haven't played ff7 but I still shit on it to look cool on the internet
The number of remakes that are objective improvements over the original can be counted on one hand.
>Get back to me when they have the time/money to make this in that quality graphics without losing any details
...They did a whole movie of that shit.
>everyone else just has their characters put their sword on their back somehow, and it just stays there.
>Nomura actually went out of his way to design a fucking harness for Cloud's new swords.
This is why I can't hate Cloud's AC design. Details like this are lost on most creators, or most just don't care.
I played it for the first time last year, it's a good game and is full of stuff that still isn't done in most rpgs.
The problem is that nobody talks about it, none of the stuff people say happens in this game actually happened besides aeris getting killed and there being some big swords
>I played it for the first time last year, it's a good game and is full of stuff that still isn't done in most rpgs.
Do you mean the endlessly derived materia system or the game guide-selling chocobo breeding?
>Not only does advent children have way less details than the cities in ff7
Actually, the cities in FF7 all felt remarkably small. I always felt like we were playing through an RPG representation of them rather than the full landscape.
You're full of shit.
>but a movie and a playable videogame are completely different things
This is true, but FFXV is pretty much at Advent Children's level of detail while still having playable maps.
That's because, much like sonic, the fanbase, particularly deviantart-eswue shit, really killed most people's opinions of the game a decade ago, despite it not affecting the actual game itself
I'd settle for just better models and touched up backdrops and more difficulty. Asking for a remake is asking for FFVII remade as FFXIII, a corridor explorer. It's called
This is what kills me about most fans of FF7. The closest a lot of the "fans" came to the actual FF7 was passing by it at Gamestop while picking up their copy of Kingdom Hearts and maybe watching the movie
>Background still has textures that would make an eiffel 65 music video feel better about itself.
Lets not get carried away by nostalgia; FF7 is not known for it's visuals.
The CGI cutscenes with Tifa tits and Sephiroth's nuthin personnel kid moment. Well I guess the summon animations too. Really a FF7 was very similar to the sprite games only the camera moved sometimes which made a lot of appeal.
What are fingers?
I was watching this on my PS3 while high the first time I saw it, and at this very scene, I was holding my controller. I instinctively pushed forward on the analog stick due to the camera angle being similar to a 3rd person hack-n-slash, and Cloud jumped forward. I thought I was playing for a good five seconds.
I miss getting high...
That's pretty much the thing, it seems big until you remember it's running on PS1 hardware. If you scale it up with current gen grafix then you realize that most cities are comprised of like 3 streets and a plaza. The closest thing to a true city in FF7 was Junon.
I really wish this wasn't a thing. I mean it always will be but I wish it wasn't. How the hell did like an hour of FF7 become his entire representation post 7? Do people like broken birds or something?
Good Start but peacock wings tier
>no Tifa boobs
>no crossdressing/Don Corneo innuendos
>no Honey Bee
>no making out with Tifa
>no Sephiroth slicing a kid with a katana
>beltsbeltseverywhere remade costumes
Aeris lives DLC
I love FF7, but no.
>Halo is good
>Kid Icarus: Uprising is good
>Uncharted 2 is good
>If it isn't 1080p at 60fps it isn't worth playing
>Being a broken bird is akin to fanfic
He was being poisoned with mako, in a coma, watched his best friend get gunned down, got amnesia, watched his waifu die, and had to stop a world ending asteroid
show me a person who can whistle a tune after all that and ill call bullshit
Don't forget that barret won't be swearing every five minutes and all sorts of great lines like "STOP BEING A RETARD AND CLIMB" would get removed.
Well, cloud. Him getting over that shit is basically the entire point of the whole game
The entire concept of ShinRa is hilarious
>We're an electric company that makes electricity via the fucking souls of the dead
>We made so much money we literally became a global government
>We found an ancient alien in a hole so we decided to inject it's DNA into ourselves
>But it's cool because we didn't know it was alien, we thought it was just a member of a dead race
>Also I convinced this one chick to NTR the man who loves her more than the world, let me impregnate her, and inject our unborn child with alien DNA just to see what would happen
>You know, for science
I just want them to Re-Translate the game. This translation is embarrassing by today's standards.
I'm not even talking Typos here. The entire game is missing a ton of dialogue.
That's exactly my point. In that one instance he was a broken bird. For an hour. In a 40 hour game. So I guess Cloud being a sarcastic asshole who was constantly breaking Barret's balls and telling Yuffie to shut up doesn't count anymore? Or him hunting Sephiroth even after he figured out that he's not the badass SOLDIER he told everyone he is?
>Well, cloud. Him getting over that shit is basically the entire point of the whole game
No, the entire point of the whole game is beating Sephiroth. It doesn't go much into Cloud's psyche after he recovers because it was time to man the fuck up and beat Sephiroth.
>not a localization liberty
>Spam basic attacks for 20% of the game (beginning + near ending)
>Spam Beta/Trine/Aqualung for the remaining 80%
>Heal when low hp
Such complex gameplay. Very intelectually challenging. Wow.
Cloud actually doesn't seem to care much about all that stuff come Advent Children. He seems a lot more bummed that he and his adoptive son/little brother are dying and he can't do anything about it, which brought back bad memories (hence all the self deprecation surrounding Aerith and Zack.)
>game allows you to be creative
>don't be creative
Gee, I wonder who is really at fault here.
Just be ready to defend your opinions and down waste time with obviously stupid people and you shouldn't have a problem. Even if you like Superman 64 you can explain why you come back to it. Even if it's just that it's so broken that you want to push the limits to how badly you can break it
As long as you state your opinion coherently and backed up with more evidence than just "it's shit", you have no reason to be afraid.
Unless you're just afraid to defend your opinion, in such case maybe your opinion isn't as strong as you originally though.
>the first 20 hours are slow but it really picks up after that
>it's only 6 hours long but it's exactly as long as it needs to be, any longer and it would drag
>realism is more important than style
>MOBAs are good and fun and worth playing
>I don't mind microtransactions or non-cosmetic day one DLC
>it's got a toxic community
>the game's portrayal of women is problematic
>well, Anita said...
>well, Kotaku said...
>well, Reddit said...
What's the point of going into a lengthy defense? All that gets is typically the belittlement of one point and "stopped reading there", or some other weak response. It feels like barely anybody on the entire internet, not even just 4chan, actually argues, just shitposts pessimistically.
>there is no difference in gameplay regardless of what materia combination you use, it's the same press X to see animation that deals damage
>game has really creative combat-related systems
>it doesn't matter because the game is easy as fuck
And if you're going to pull the handicapped runs card, then the same can be said about KH combat. It really shines on a handicapped run and you definitely won't be able to mash X to victory.
This is a problem with Square since ages ago and even today (FF Type-0, for instance) we have this shit.
The issue is your initial pessimism. I've been on a fucking crusade to reverse /v/'s shitposting. If more people put effort into posting, the shitposting would be background noise as opposed to being at the forefront.
Like this guy >>283698546, most would say he's shitposting, but at least he's trying to elaborate beyond "it's shit". It's actually not okay to ignore "it's shit" posters, it's best to call them out and ask them to elaborate. They either backpedal or leave completely.
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE NIGGA.
>TFW 4chan turned you into a faggot that hates arguing in real life because you can't use all arguments due to social reasons and you can't call people out on being a huge retard and having the retard think he won the argument because you're not worth his bullshit while also giving people a impression that you're a beta shitlord that can't keep a discussion
Refer back to ignore obviously stupid people. For starters a degree of thick skin is required. For another if the other person's argument is more noise then signal than don't waste your time. This can be done with damn near anything
Hey I like Big Rigs!
>Are you fucking retarded? Big Rigs is a broken, half finished game with shitty graphics. Why the fuck would you like that game
For precisely that reason, it's so broken that you can pretty much do whatever you want in that game.
Even though there were insults there was a clear counterargument to debate. Versus the other side of the coin
I like Big Rigs
>lel ebin maymay m8
There's no counterargument. No anything. So why would I respond to this? Just tell someone why you specifically like any game and except that some people aren't going to agree with you and others might be rude about it. But at the end of the day their opinions hold no more water than yours does. Faggot.
Even with all the shitposting >>283698546 this guy can still be counter argued. For example:
How the fuck is making yourself practically god handicapping yourself? A handicapped run would be like using only attack or something like that. You have a million ways to break FF7. You just happened to pick one of the shittier ones.
>Retards who can't into reading comprehension thinking i said KH is a good series
>Retards who can't into reading comprehension and ignoring the "on handicapped runs" part
There is no need to make several paragraphs to elaborate my pooint, you fucking cucklord. If you played JRPGs, you know they weren't and aren't challenging at all, which, IF YOU WEREN"T A HUGE FAGGOT AND CHECKED THE CHAIN OF POSTS, you would see that i'm absolutely right AND I DIDN"T MOVED THE GOALPOSTS.
Fuck i hate it when people do that. Being creative is something that augments many games but people still refuse to do it because 'the game is easy' or 'it's easier to just spam attack'.
>you fucking cucklord
Nigga why are you mad? I was defending your decision to elaborate beyond name calling and shit. But now you gon' done it anyway.
I want a sequel at this point, with a choose your own adventure theme letting you make anyone the party leader for the majority of the game, with a forced character every so often like with Barret and the golden saucer, or yuffie in wu tai.
>If you played JRPGs
Turn-based RPG instead of JRPG, to avoid even more retards.
Being creative is only relevant when it actually changes gameplay. Being creative on a traditional turn-based RPG means you only change the animation which you see or turn the game into a RNGfest (like the mega-all deathblow that posted). If you can point me out difference on gameplay, i would appreciate, because i don't see it.
Being creative on a turn-based RPG means you handicap yourself so now you're forced to see check all the tools available to you and how to use and/or combine them to defeat enemies. The thing is: this can be applied to any game, including KH (refer to the initial post that generated this chain of posts). Just check a level 1 run, no magic no summons no drive run or a speedrun of KH and you will see that you can be creative as fuck.
TLDR: you can't dismiss turn-based RPGs being a press X to win (just slower than Action RPG) by using the argument that you can be creative on said game, because the same argument also applies to Action RPGs.
>Smash is just a "party" game.
>Games should be taken only as face value (people who hate the mother and zelda fanbses.)
>DA:I is actually good. /v/ just wont give it a le chance!
>I don't want an FF7 remake.
>SquareEnix/Capcom/EA/Microsoft/Activision is a good company.
>Fez is a good game.
If they do a VI remake I hope they flesh out the characters more. They had a bunch of characters and they hardly ever interacted with each other. Locke kind of interacted with Celes. Sabin kind of interacted with Cyan and Gau. Edgar and Sabin were bros I guess. But there wasn't a whole lot of character moments, it was all plot.
