I'm going to buy it because it looks like a game I'll enjoy even if it turns out to be fairly short.

I have to say though, buying games on release is becoming less and less appealing because I'm being continually disappointed. If I could go back I wouldn't have bought evolve, or a lot of games Ive bought day one for that matter.

I am ok with QTEs, and I have no issue at all with the reviewer marking the game down because of them. But I find it odd that they lump QTE and cutscenes together in terms of game time. QTEs are gameplay so should not be added to cutscenes to differentiate active vs passive time in a game. That you don't like QTEs is not a reason to equate them with cut scenes.
7hrs long is short. That's the sort of game length you come to expect from a fps that considers its principal game mode to be MP. Glad it's not the 5 hours being trolled on the internet, but still disappointing that a reviewer got through the game in 7.
7.5 is a decent score and the pros are not just about visuals.

I'll buy it for 20 bucks in 6 months

Quick personal review as I just finished the game myself:

+Took me 5 hours 45 minutes (Med difficulty)
+Very well put together game. That is movement and controls are crisp, character movement feels good and camera direction is great.
+Very, very polished.
+Actual decent variety of content, for what is there.

-Goofy story, but serviceable.
-QTEs. Prob one of the better handled systems, but its just just not a good system for video games.
-Just not worth $60.

Overall, pretty damn good game for RaD's first try and actually makes me look forward to their future projects however this doesn't exactly make The Order itself a better game. I hope they take criticisms to heart for their next game.
