The World Ends With You. It is a JRPG done right, and I think people should, ideally, play the pinnacles of each genre. Plus it's a game that utilizes its hardware perfectly, as well as does difficulty and post game incredibly well. And, imo, the story and characters are fantastic, though I'm sure its not for everyone; but, especially when I first played it, it really resonated with me

That whole genre is a thing now, and each year the "cinematic experience" is only going to get better and better, and since the gameplay itself is negligible and its "cine experience" is only improved upon by its successors, there is no reason to ever "have" to play that.

Let's see, how about the phenomenal character performances, top notch voice work/sound design, great writing/story, fantastic multiplayer component. The game opens up a lot midway through and you're not really on rails via cutscene qte interaction like The Order, so I wouldn't call it a "cinematic experience" aside from the great mocap/cutscenes throughout the game.

Hi, me again.
I put hundreds of hours into morrowind and oblivion before playing skyrim, and i think that the dual wielding was a huge improvement. I can see how people get bored with the combat because at some points it feels like you can faceroll everything, but at that point you should probably set the difficulty higher so that you actually have to have a high level in a combat skill in order to do serious damage and actually feel like you are rewarded from it- I.E. when you disable/disarm or paralyze someone, or make that half mile long archery shot sneak attack that takes down a big foe in one shot.

As for the environment, Yeah. Ur rite. Yep. It sucks. It wasn't as weird and expansive as morrowind's landscapes were, or as bright and enjoyable as oblivion's. The dungeons were also not nearly as expansive as oblivion's were, you never got that feeling like you were descending into the center of the earth to find the ancient gear that was sealed away, never to be found again- it just felt like, "im in a cave....cool."

There was a remarkable increase to graphics over the previous elder scrolls games, but that was to be expected.

One thing i found annoying about skyrim was that the factions you were in and what race you were held no sway with the game and its other factions- The companions will let you join them even if you're a spell casting faggot high elf thats also an assasin for the dark brotherhood.

Overall though, i enjoy the feeling of being able to play a game where i can go into a bandit camp, transform into a werewolf, slaughter everone there, change back and throw all their shitty gear down a hole along with their bodies, go catch some butterflies, then return to the house i built and read a book. Thats the mark of a special game for me.

Dark Souls, hands down
It's pretty much the best game I've ever played.
Not much replayability compared to others, but the first playthrough was the absolutely shit.

My folks did the Pink Floyd and Beetles thing to me once. I dislike all of both of their songs with a small few exceptions of each - which I happen to really like, like Eleanor Rigby - and acknowledge that if those same bands tried to come out today, they'd remain unnoticed. Cave Story is pretty much perfect in what it's trying to be: A fun simple, charismatic game with great music and smooth gameplay. You can't compare it to a Castlevania game which tries to be serious and atmospheric. It's like comparing Earthbound to a Final Fantasy. Completely different experiences.
