Holy Shit
How could I have not seen this shit sooner?
Wii, GameCube and PS2 are all packed up neatly in a box because this shit is the future
>>
>>283555246

The first time I tried Dolphin it was a piece of shit and I never went near it again. Started it up again the last month or so and I've never been so impressed with an emulator. Those fuckers are working magic, I swear. Imagine if the Wii U was able to reproduce that from actual game disks?

I was supposed to try this one game on either Dolphin or PCSX2 because I've wanted to try it out for a while.
But then I got on my PC and forgot the name of the game. Fuck.

It's the only issue I have, but playing at any resolution higher than fucking 720p gives it horrible jaggies on anything menu or text related.

Same shit with most gen5 or later emulation really.

Emulation won't automagically fix HUDs being designed for standard-definition displays beyond custom texture loading.

>>
>>283557249
I know. Which is why I won't bother playing it until it does. Even if that never happens, no skin off my nose. I have a PS2 and a wii, both softmodded.

>>283557297
Mostly just blurs the shit out of stuff. Which is better but there are still lines in games like ring of red, that cover the entire screen because of other issues.

I don't have a problem with emulation. IF you guys like it better, more power to you. I just don't care enough when I can just as easily play the games on the actual machine and not have to deal with tweaking settings.

Why would you do that when most games can be rendered 16:9 internally by any competant emulator? And does that guy even know what upscaling means?

Did you actually look at the last updated dates for those 3-star compatibility titles?

Most of them were checked over a year ago, and are titles nobody gives a shit about.

Hey, /v/.

I haven't had much time to play video games due to my increasingly work-intensive schedule/lifestyle.

Could you guys recommend any GameCube/PS2 game which is both fun and short/non-time consuming?

Thanks.

Wind Waker renders things in the distance at a lower resolution. It's not too bad, just a little annoying. It's even more noticeable at a lower resolution.

The point I'm making is, if anyone feels like trudging through a backlog of shit games to see if they work or not, they'll probably see a lot of them go from 3-star to 4 or 5-star.

The only way to reduce the distance blur, as far as I know, is to increase internal resolution and AA, while Scaled EFB Copy is checked. So, if your machine can't handle an especially high internal res+AA, you may be stuck with a bit of that blur.

Also fix aspect ratio please.

https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-pack-of-ported-shaders

Get the Ported_Shaders.zip and use the bump map shader, tweak it to be really subtle. And/or use reshade or sweetfx to add some sharpening on top, it will help a lot. Looks fine to me though.

Don't start that shit, there's only three options here:

It doesn't exist.
It's on some private website.

All evidence so far points to one with hints of three.

To be fair, that blur was in the game, and gave the game a really fantastic effect on CRTs. The reason why it looks like shit on Dolphin comes from the fact that it was designed to be played at 480i in 4:3, not 1440p.
