The last two games were exactly what you want, fuck off. Canvas Curse and Air Ride are the best Kirby games, and I'm infinitely more excited for Rainbow Curse than I was for the last two games, though I did love them.

A classic Kirby would be nice. I'd really like something in the vein of Dreamland 3 or Crystal Shards over yet another SuperStar styled game. I miss the animal pals and Dark Matter.

I think the next Kirby should be a Superstar type game because I don't think the gameplay really lends itself well to a long game with no real changes to it.
What made Superstar great was there were multiple smaller games, each with their own gimmick that set them apart from each other.
Dynablade was rather standard but with a map select screen, Dungeon Offensive was one big level with treasure to find, Metaknight's Revenge was timed and had running commentary from Metaknight's crew, Milky Way Wishes was the most challenging and had the permanent power switches.

Each game had soemthing different to spice things up so it never got old. Many of the longer Kirby games don't even have any gimmicks at all which makes them grow stale as it goes on. I never finished Amazing Mirror or Squeak Squad because they just had rather standard gameplay. i might have done amazing mirror if I had a buddy though, since thats kind of its gimmick.

Are any of the kirby games hard? Or have a hard mode or something?

That's honestly my biggest complaint is how much of a breeze they are to complete. I guess that's kind of a dumb complaint.

Some of them do have hard modes. The original Kirby for example, Superstar gets more challenging as you go along, with the early games being very easy while the later ones getting pretty challenging, at least compared to other games.

Kirby's difficulty really comes from 100%ing it. For example, you can't die in Epic Yarn, but getting hit can cost you 100% for that level.

Every vanilla Kirby game since Sakurai left has just been kind of...vanilla.

Canvas Curse and Mass Attack, on the other hand, have been massively fun.

I wanted a sequel to Canvas Curse for so long that I kind of forgot how much I wanted it.

Return to Dreamland was a slower-paced, more boring Superstar. Spinoffs have been the only good thing to come out of Kirby in years. Nintendo isn't afraid of actually using the character to test new gameplay concepts.
