I wanna play that PS1 Bloodborne.
"H-HEH, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO ONCE IT'S RELEASED BECAUSE GRAFIX SUCKS AM I RITE?"
How many of you thought about posting something similar and how silly do you feel about being so predictable?
Well of course if you already beat it you'll do it faster
My latest playthrough is at 17 hours and just beat O&S, though admittedly I've been getting summoned for each boss like 5 or so times so I guess it isn't a fair comparison.
>categorically unhealthy things are "fun"
>let's aspire to qualities like "edifying", "healing", "pro-social", or even "enlightening"
I fucking swear, it doesn't matter what message they're trying to spread, preaching always sounds the fucking same.
>I looked up walkthroughs and spoilers beforehand and the game only lasted me a short amount of time
This game decides it for me, if it reviews well, I order my ps4, if not, back to pc. I'll wait till the reviews come out, part of me feels some of the opinions released in the blood borne threads may not be from people who have actually played the game....
Really depends on your playstyle, my first DaS playtrough took me about 60 hours, didn't look anything up, explored every nook and cranny and spend hours getting my Shit pushed in because I took the wrong routes at the beginning
>2d is easy and fast to do, anyone who can draw worth a damn can 'make graphics' for 2d games
>low-poly requires a bunch more of knowledge not only for coding but for modeling, animating and texturing
it's going to happen.
im a dev. i have a greenlit game (its somewhere between doom and wolfenstein graphically).
i will be making ps1 style games after this one. i hope to be a small piece in the movement bringing them back, so we can have 3D games with graphics "good enough" for atmosphere..while focusing on gameplay again.
i'll probably make a ps1-tier engine framework for
unityand give it out for free
with a modeller, animator, level editor.. all with ps1 limitations enforced.
>Watch it thinking that it's just some doujin PC-only crap
Sony really doesn't have any standards? I mean not only it's borderline hentai, not only is it a total kusoge it also looks like a 2005 game. What the fuck.
i'd enforce everything
keeping devs within a tight scope allows them to stop fretting over how their game measures up graphically and instead focus on what matters.. the level design, animation, sound design, story, gameplay mechanics, pacing..etc..etc
i swear shit like level design is a lost art these days..
I'm not against people getting things I don't like. I'm against Sony allowing total kusoge on the PS4. And yes some people will find the game fun, we call them kusoge enthusiasts.
But wouldn't they have to redo some of the animations, gameplay, and such because of how the textures look now.
Or maybe I'm just overthinking this and want it to play like a PS1 game. If it just changes to low poly than I guess the game would fine the way it is.
It's a game about photographing low-poly pantsu. How is it not a kusoge. Let me repat that. It's a game about ogling girls and girls look like shit. What else can this game be?
yes. I liked dark souls 2 (not as good as 1, but still decent), but I think this is the true sequel to demons souls that people wanted.
im avoiding videos so I can go in fresh. even if that means I get raped in invasions, but i'll learn.
WHY DON'T INDIE DEVS DO LOW-POLY INSTEAD OF GENERIC PIXEL ART
Bloodborne Info so far (everything in this list in CONFIRMED from articles, interviews, and developer commentary
>you willingly receive the blood transfusion at the beginning of the game to become a hunter
>The Plain Doll is apparently a key character
>the hunter's dream is your hub
>you can buy items there using souls (blood echoes)
>you can warp from the hunter's dream into the real world
>You get 2 weapons in each hand to swap from
>lanterns act as the bonfires of Bloodborne
>you no longer have a bloodstain; to retrieve your lost blood echoes you must kill the enemy that last killed you (they will have glowing eyes)
>Buildings with lit windows indicates an NPC is available to interact with
>the riposte of this game is called a "visceral attack" They are landed after hitting an enemy with a charged attack from behind or shooting an enemy from the front as they ready an attack and stagger them
>when a bell rings it means a hunt has begun and the townsfolk will disperse
>the female hunter you meet is a veteran and gives you the Bold Hunter's Mark. It is an item that allows you to reawaken at a lamp after dying, without losing your blood echoes. So it's basically like the ring of sacrifice.
>friendly NPC inside the hunter's dream is named Gehrman and he gives hints throughout your playthrough it seems
>you can use the fireplace in the hunter's dream to fortify and repair weapons.
>the Cleric Beast boss's weaknesses are his head and left arm.
>The game will also feature a day and night cycle, which will affect the behavior of enemies.
>Shields are in the game, but if you are too passive when using them you WILL get overwhelmed quickly and die.
>you can also block with your weapons or torch
>so far no mention of magic, but there will be gadgets like the handheld flamethrower among other things
>the new soapstone seems to be your messengers
>the summoning item is a bell
>Gascoine says a prayer ending in umbasa when he kills you
Many Android games are using low-poly models, only pc indie games are still stuck in pixel art stage. Also, you can easily slap few colored pixels without any anatomy and call it an artstyle, while low-poly modeling is much harder and actually requires effort.
yeah how could I forget!
anyways here are the new icons from the newest build shown on stream.
I can't get hyped for this for two reasons
>core mechanics exactly the same as in previous games outside of the firearms
which will either be utterly useless or ridiculously strong
>setting is literally Dark Souls in gothic Europe
This feels like an Assassin's Creed tier rehash to be honest.
Why can't From try something else? I've had my fill of this shit with the previous 3 games.
You did it man! You posted it again! Proud of you son!
Anyway check out this big ass sword. I'm definitely using that or the kirk hammer. Gonna go full strength.
yeah it was called Nightmare Creatures m8.
so what starting weapon is everyone going to choose? axe, whip cane, or sawblade?
I'm either gonna go axe or saw blade. I want to grab the kirk hammer as soon as I can find it or something similar.
yeah it was a pretty cool game. Watched my dad play it and the second one when I was a kid. Buy it on the cheap or emulate it man.
me too man...me too.
A big ass sword like every souls game.
but I'll start with the saw blade.
that's a regular enemy. have you seen the video of the flaming dog thing?
skip to 4:34
Fortunately, there are hundereds of other games you can play. So the people who like the Soul's formula can be happy, and people who are fed up with it can play something else. I think all is fine, can't see what's the issue.
it's a non linear game, it can last you 1 hour or it can last you a 100 hours, it's up to you, I can rush through dark souls in less than 4 hours, hell I've seen some japanese dude on youtube that finishes it in 59 minutes.
thew thing that really bothers me about bb is that I know it's gonna be good, and I know I'm gonna like it, but I won't be getting a ps4 anytime soon, and the only thing that makes me feel better is criticize the game, saying it's gonna be bad or that the graphics suck, the thing is, i'm I'll be playing it when i can pick up a ps4 for under $250.
Always love a new From title
Usually I have to bog myself down with researching gameplay videos and end up spoiling myself in the process. But with Bloodborne it's just like "Hey, it says From on the box. No chance this is going to be bad"
I don't know the first thing about Bloodborne and I'll be picking it up day 1
It's like the Nintendo Seal of Approval. back when that seal actually meant something.
>TELL ME WHY, TELL ME WHY
If I ever pick up a ps4, I'll be choosing anything related to ultra greatswords in a heartbeat.
Anything that could serve as a repeating crossbow or a arm cannon would serve as a fine guts build.
dude this symbol looks so much like the curse sign in Berserk.
>npc that looks like griffith
I can't wait to see what the fuck this thing is finally.
I miss childhood...
First time I played it I stayed 4 to 5 hours only in Undead Burg just fucking around and learning how to fight.
Now I skip that area in less than 4 minutes.
First playthroughs always last the most.
I know it's going to end one day, I just wish that day would be today.
Grow home was pretty fun.
I wish they'd take the climbing mechanics and transport them into something else thats longer and more detailed. Jumping around on the asteroids with the jetpack was great.
>15 fucking hours to beat capra demon
What the hell were you doing all the time, scratching havel's balls?
hey man Blood Omen 2 was pretty baller. Played that shit so much in 9th grade.
The whole steampunk, ayy Hylden and story clusterfuck takes away most of what made the Legacy of Kain games great, and since they're not known for their spectacular gameplay you're left with an average and weird game. It still has it's charm though
15 hours isn't that much for a newbie getting used to the game. Remember, they can do the burg, the parish, the forest, the moonlight butterfly, gargs, and hell, even end up around Sif before finding Capra. And there are TONS of other places they might find and beat their heads against for a while before finding the right path.
I swear, every LP'er I've seen has almost always attacked the Graveyard before finding their way up into the burg.
If you were here when DS1 first came out on /v/, there were loads of people who plowed through catacombs or ended up going to blight town before capra. It isn't that hard to do.
I will look at a video of the character creator options and if I think I can make a kawaii character I buy it.
For me every Souls game is like 9-12 hours on second playthroughs unless I'm actually speed running in which case it's like 3 hours but first runs were always around 45 hours.
I typed it out myself after watching and reading a shit load of things. Thought I would compile everything into one post. I want to put more detail into it, but the character limit is too low.
I was being rhetorical, it does sound like a fucking great idea because I bet i'll actually get summoned and be able to whore myself out constantly in it.
LoTF was a buggy, short, and clunky experience with maybe one memorable fight throughout the entire 6 hour playthrough. No Souls style game has ever been so underwhelming. Not even Dark Souls 2 was as disappointing as LoTF.
No. This a souls-like thread, right?
When is this stupid fucking game getting cracked? Or do people just not even give a shit anymore? I want to know if it runs on my hardware but they refuse to release a fucking demo and I'm not buying it on the off chance that any none of the numerous crippling hardware bugs kicks in and I can't even play it.
guys just don't respond to these idiots
if you ignore it, it'll go away
>some no-name site trying to get attention by promoting a shit game
Well played anon you smart
I'll probably start with the saw blade and pick the whip cane and poleaxe on subsequent playthroughs. I'm probably gonna run with the moonlight great sword whenever I can pick it up, though.
