I need help /v/. I get legitimately depressed when I think about how we haven't heard shit about this in years.
I need my Cyberpunk fix.
You won't get anything until after the Witcher 3 is released. Hopefully we'll get something at E3 but who knows how far they are on production? I'm expecting a late 2016/early 2017 release date.
>Witcher 3 comes out
>everyone expects a god saviour of gaming
>it comes out as an okey-ish game from an unexperienced studio with a ton of bugs to boot
>and downgraded graphics
>that enough will make /v/ and their main demographic hate it
>they don't get enough money to make another open-world and they'll be scared of making it
>Cyberpunk gets shifted to
Mark my words.
That will never happen, Witchershills/Poletards are determined to tout the series as the greatest RPG games in the history of mankind even though 1 & 2 were 7/10 games at best.
>the mitch murder rescore will never be official
I know some of /v/ doesn't like the whole synthwave thing but man, it's so moody. Looking forward to seeing how the official OST turns out.
As mentioned, the CP team was moved to help finish TW3 for May '15.
So currently they are polishing Witcher and not doing a thing with Cyberpunk.
I'm not saying the game is not being made nor won't be made, it simply currently in hiatus, since CDPR simply lacks the muscle to pull it while finishing TW3
your mother is a 7/10 at best
I bet you also like Star Wars and think Geralt is an "edgy" protagonist
>he likes Star Wars
You Americans are so easily shaped as children, and then you're surprised shilling other products works on younger generations as well
Too bad she won't live...at least it's something to blow loads in in the mean time
>I need help /v/. I get legitimately depressed when I think about how we haven't heard shit about this in years.
The last mentions of Cyberpunk was in the Eurogamer.cz interview. They are working on it, most of the TW3 team will be gradually shifting to it after the TW3 release, and that is about it.
Seriously though, it's fucking OBVIOUS they are not going to speak about it untill TW3 is released. They won't draw any attention to it, even a few months after TW3 release.
Ever heard of the phrase "canibalization of your own sales"?
>they don't agree with me on something!
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, Clapistani.
You need what?
Any house at all or depressing low-tier apartment, because you can't afford anything else in dystopic world and the walls are in fact bare concrete, hidden only by holographic projection?
Yo, guys! Have you heard of that new Ghost in The Shell film?
I hear it has cool shit like cyborgs and
computers and shit! From an anime, I don't know what the fuck that is. But their bodies have like robot parts in them. Fucking epic, yo. I can't believe Hollywood can come up with these ideas, dawg
Starring the one and only
Coming soon to a theater near you.
Scarlett is hot as fuck, yo. The soundtrack will feature all the hottest artists from UKF Dubstep.
It will be like Ultraviolet but with more blue and night scenes.
It has nothing to do with psychology. There isn't much of that. There isn't much of philosophical themes either, despite what people claim.
What made the movie so briliant was the slow pace of it. It's essentially more of a visual poem than a classic story. It never rushes anywhere, and takes time building atmosphere rather than anything.
I doubt anyone in Holywood has the guts to make something like that. Casting Scarlett already suggests that it's going to be shit.
I haven't seen it, but the whole premise about being able to do amazing superhuman things "if we used 100% of our brains" is just so retarded it's downright offensive.
>If it's painfully standard, by-the-book example that can't go any more textbook it's still an achievement
No anon, that means someone can't write a good scenario.
Ever heard about The Postman? No, not the crappy film with Costner, but the book it was based upon? Where there is also classic hero's journey, BUT WITH FUCKING ARC and characters that evolve instead just having a switch that suddenly change them into saviours from peasant boys. That's what is good use of hero's journey. If you just go "by the book" without any character development whatsoever it just means you can't handle the most basic scenario.
By sucked, do you mean it was hella epic. In Lucy she used 100% of her brain. In Ghost in the Shell, Major Maggie Kosplawski will use 500% of her brain.
Amazing. The movie of the century.
>Another person who didn't saw the film
>And yet confused the premise "100% potential" with "100% of brain"
>And missed one of the best sci-fi films made in past few years
Want a shit film about "brain powers"? Watch Limitless. Want something that is actually a decent sci-fi smuggling few interesting questions in the process? Go for Lucy.
No, John. Now I am the Ghost in The Shell!
Ving Rhames as Bob Joe
It's in Polish by Oshii's decision, to provide with as alienating language for Japanese audience as possible.
It goes unintentionally funny when you know Ash is played by soap-opera actress
During last E3 they said there isn't even a game yet. I don't think anybody has written a single line of code for it. They said they were working fully on witcher 3. So now that witcher 3 is done (isnt it?) theyre going to start working on it.
Chris Pratt as Tom Goza
"YOU SAID IT YOURSELF, BITCH. We are the Ghosts in the Shell!"
>Smart film talking about importance of knowledge, education and self-control
>Meanwhile, somehow able to find GitS interesting
>Story about self-control and human nature
So... explain me this anon. You manage to enjoy GitS, but not Lucy? And I mean it sincerely.
>they make trailer and announcement to make hype
>if hype will still exist after w3 premiere they decide what to do
they wanted to know market by this decision
ceo said this in one of interviews
>one of the best sci-fi films made in past few years
>one of the best sci-fi movies
See the difference?
And nice you don't kow the premise of the film to keep bullshitting about technobabble and "10% of brain". None of which happens in the actual film.
But what am I expecting? It's 8 PM, meaning 2/3 of 4chan users now are burgers. It's just too dense for you to go outside what you think you know into actually knowing what the fuck are you talking about.
Yeah no. it's talking about unrealistic concepts that have been proven wrong already. Nothing Freeman says in his lecture is 'smart'. And the shit they have her spew is stuff that you could find almost line for line at times in the movie Limitless, that you so eloquently and ironically slammed.
Then they give her super powers because lol look at how fun it is!
You're a complete moron if you think the film was anywhere near smart. It's borderline popcorn garbage with a ton of stupid scenes.
Also Not everyone who replies to you is the same person, I didn't say anything about Ghost in the Shell
First off: Pirating Lucy as we speak.
>not listening to anything /v/ says
Playing Witcher 2 after that.
>need to finish it up before III
Will boot up random old school Cyberpunk vidya later.
Thanks for a great sunday Anon.
The film managed to make the entire story much more engaging. Sure, the original ending is much better instead of "happy ever after", but overally, film destiled all the good stuff and throw away most of the trash
>inb4 canceled game
Have a good film.
Unless you will be another person who can't see the difference between "we use 10% of our brain" myth and sci-fi concept of "we use 10% of brain potential". Then you will have a painfull ride sponsored by your inability to see the difference between those two
>I didn't saw the film
what grade are you in?
Also pic related
Are you like Scar Jo's PR rep or something? Chill out over your shit film.
>Too focused on explosions, car chases and shootouts to notice all the small things in the dialogues
We are sorry for you, anon, and your lack of capacity for multitasking between munching popcorn, watching moving pictures, hearing sounds and putting all the stimulus together
>all the small things in the dialogues
Go ahead and point out some of those really deep concepts you found.
Let's hear some examples. Since you make the claim there's so much to this film that went over my head. I'll wait.
>and now you backpedal your way out of providing a shred of evidence
Because the amount of crap that is thrown on this film by people who managed to confuse it's premise, while it's stated THREE times, one of them in Morgan Freeman's voice, slowly and gently, is just an insulting to human intelligence.
How dumb it takes to be to keep talking more than a year after it premiered how this film is "all about 10% brain usage myth, bollocks!".
It's just fucking insulting.
You are fucking retarded. Have an official trailer
>Humans only use 10% of brain capacity
>the maximum amount that something can contain.
The brief discussion they have about "humanity is not ready for this" chestnut and the conclusion out of it?
The other brief dialogue about trying to put everything in some easy-to-apply-but-not-exactly-right scale?
Those few scenes dedicated to show exactly how completely dumbfold people are in face of danger and pain?
The entire premise about praising knowledge and intelligence AND using them for betterment of humankind?
Or that bit after being freed from all the "everyday problems" and sudden realisation just how much you can love your parents?
As I said, small, but really enjoyable things
It is Besson film. It obviously must have shootouts, car chases and explosions. It must have East-vs-West subtext. But it's not just a dumb action flick and it's not shy to be PRO-knowledge, while all the sci-fi output for past few years are luddite, creationist or outright anti-intellectual bullshit.
Show me where the director confirms he himself wasn't confused on the premise and doesn't actually believe the retarded 10% myth himself. The movie in whole reflects that. No one says anything about potential, at all in that fucking film. The director/writers messed it up, you're ranting about people calling him out for it and pretending they didn't pull a Limitless because they also fell for the stupid myth and created and entire film based around it.
If it was about liking it and not, I would have no problem. But it's annoying how people mix up what the fucking film is about and then proceed to trash it.
Bonus points for the film's main theme being how ignorance is bad. It's Spec Ops-tier irony when all those people keep crying how they were "forced" to use white phosphorous, completly missing the point the entire story is making.
THE FILM ITSELF GETS THE CONCEPT CONFUSED STOP FUCKING GETTING MAD AT PEOPLE FOR BEING PISSED ABOUT IT.
Holy shit dude. Get your head out of your fucking ass.
> But it's annoying how people mix up what the fucking film is about
that's not what people are doing, though, you fucking idiot.
>avoids the argument because you're wrong and a moron
>greentexts his way out of an argument like the 12 year old he is
>enjoyed his vapid, popcorn flick and thinks it's deep even though it was a turd save 1 or 2 scenes
Some guy in my psych lecture straight up
asked the professor "If you could use 100% of your brain would you be like Lucy". This is the same person who asked if we had to breathe while we sleep, and ironically used the term "false myth". I'm starting to think he is a master level troll to be honest.
>I never saw the film
>But I will make wild claims about it actuall content
>And when caught on it, I will pick the "Blind Fanboy" card
>I also didn't saw the film
>And if I did, I somehow managed to skip three different expositions explaining the premise
Very few of those are are new or exiting concepts. Most of them make the list of top ten 2deep4u shit for bad movie to explore in an attempt to seem thought provoking. Its textbook shit, anon
>I somehow managed to skip three different expositions explaining the premise
That all talk about using full brain capacity, not potential. Fucking moron.
>my mediocre film is g-great!
>mfw CDPR starts doing idiotic sickdarkpunk games with shitty character creators
it was nice having a good slav dev, after TW3 I will have to hope for Vavra to save the day
Yeah, and another 3 chumps jumping over him like he just abused their mother.
Which gives us 4 morons doing /tv/ on /v/.
And the film has nothing to do with cyberpunk, so it wasn't even justified
>not gathering a group of people and playing actual tabletop Cyberpunk 2020
The system itself is schway as drokk, gather some friends to play it or play online with double-chan /cyber/
At least Chappie is coming out in a few weeks
>excited for that pandering garbage
>neill blomkamp in charge of being talented
>muh cgi robots
District 9 was good, and elysium was cuhrazzy done right
The new one would be okay if it wasn't called fucking Syndicate.
>game series about being a corporate tool and using people as corporate tools
>HURR TIME TO KILL MY BOSS AND BETRAY THE CORP FOR SOME NIGRESS
Dontchoo talk about my waifu like that
That's why I liked it. It was clearly Blomkamp just fuking around for a few laughs after District 9. I mean I hate it when anime fans and rising fans go on about CUHHRRAAZZY, because I usually like more grounded movies. But something about Elysium rubbed me right
>There will never be a doom ripoff where you play as Kruger doing cool specwar shit in the nasty dark future
They've been working on it since 2012 at least if the interview with Mike Pondsmith is anything to go by; I'd be surprised if they didn't have a ton of concept art and writing done for the game and probably some assets as well considering that trailer.
