I'm not going to spend $40 and have an inferior experience on my current 3DS. Fucking Nintendo.

So does anyone else have problems with the 3D occasionally breaking and flickering on the New 3DS when just rotating it slightly or is the camera broken on mine. The 3D works its just not as perfect as everyone says.

I really like it. The MH edition looks amazing. The 3D works a lot better, the auto brightness is nice, the c stick works great, faster speed, and Sm4sh on 3DS feels like it should have waited for the N3DS to come out. The system feels like a better build quality than the original XL, minus the stylus length and position. The analogue stick has this grainy sound when you move it, but it's not a big deal.

Overrall, I'm pretty happy with it.

I would've bought one of those if NoA wasn't pants on head stupid and brought the normal n3ds to the US. Although I don't know if it's worth it ultimately, I got burned by buying a dsi sort of, even though I really liked the console there wasn't much in the way of exclusives for it. Hardware half-gens are cool, like the psp-2000 and ds lite, if they come earlier in the console's lifespan. Stuff like the gameboy light/micro, dsi, n3ds that's released at the end of a console's life span is neat but kinda a waste.

I'm going to laugh if nintendo releases their next handheld in the next 1-2 years.

For those worried about the gloos and color:

For black: It's not actually black, its more of a gun metal grey, kind of like a dark chrome silver, but its not jet black like a PS3 casing.

It still attracts fingerprints if you don't take care of yourself though, so be warned.

Red is more of a dark crimson, not the eye blinding target red that the normal DS used to be.

Honestly I think they're really comfy systems, And my DS (not 3DS) Games look fucking stellar on the XL screens, so I'm good.

It takes some getting used to for stylus based games though, since the screen is larger, and you'll have to make larger strokes to accomodate.

Firstly, the assumption that someone would already have a power adapter would be to assume they bought the New 3DS without selling their old one, because if they were to sell their old 3DS for the New 3DS, they would need to include the power adapter, which means they would no longer have a power adapter.

Secondly, it's nigh-impossible to find a power adapter anywhere locally other than third party ones, and even those are scarce. You're pretty much required to order one online through Nintendo's store. I'm liking it quite a bit. Haven't had much time to use it as I just got it yesterday last one in my local target., but I'm liking it quite a lot. The hinge isn't as wobbly as my old 3DS XL. Haven't tried the 3D as much, but the face sensor didn't worked as much as I hoped for. Then again, it does detect my face movement and all, which is nice.

I don't have any game that works with the 2nd circle pad or Amiibos yet (Let my brother keep my copy of Smash 3DS, and since he also got a n3DS it seems he's going to play it for quite a bit), but I'm getting Majora's later today so that's nice.

It's much easier to push it sideways than up or down but games don't take that into account.

Also, the slide pad still causes my thumb to ache if I have to keep it pushed forward for long periods. The Deku Shrine was painful.

I love those colored buttons on the normal N3DS, but I think I'm going to go for the bigger screens of the XL version instead. It's a shame they only colored the letters with that one.

You can either use a public one (gets you banned) or make your own from a game you own. Can be any game so long as it uses online.

Every game has a unique header file. When you go online, Nintendo checks to make sure your game has one, but doesn't bother to check if it's the right game or even a game that can even go online at all. By default, 3ds files run through Gateway can't go online because it doesn't bother to load the header. Changing the file extension to 3dz will load the header if hasn't been scrubbed. If it has been scrubbed, you have to inject your own header into it to go online. A lot of people just grab someone else's game header posted online, and when Nintendo's server notices a bunch of people online at the same time with the same header it bans them.

Personally I just install every game I want to go online with as a cia. They're basically eshop titles, and have no header, so they're generally considered much safer as long as you don't have any big tells. Like running a game as a cia that isn't even available on the eshop.

Fuck you I have opinions. This is possibly the best iteration of the DS. The screen is the perfect size. The 3D face tracking makes the 3D not useless, which actually makes it enjoyable. The faster processing is fantastic. Downloading all my old eshop games took MAYBE an hour where it would have taken my old 3DS about half a day's worth of effort.

I think literally the only problem I've got is that smashes feel weird to pull off on sm4sh 3ds, and everyone's playing smash on wii u anyway so w/e. Even the weird ass c-nub works great despite feeling like trying to use a button like it was a stick. Honestly makes me wonder how it works

The only flashcard that currently works on the N3DS is Sky3DS, and to play online you'll have to be on the latest firmware and make your own template files to keep from getting banned. It doesn't support CIA, region-free, or games that are only available on eshop either I believe.

Gateway is supposed to be updating. They always deliver, but they're also always like 2 months late. If you went with this, you'd basically want to not update above 9.2 and just wait it out.
