Playing Resident Evil 2, when you're on the train elevator, you come out of the train all nervous, it's quiet aside from the rumbling of machinery. Then BAM! Billy Birkin whips a fucking pipe at your head.

I had no idea it was a thing and I didn't even want the game, I was only playing it because it was one of the few games I had and I didn't want to be a prick and waste my parent's money.

There was this story from a biography on Charlie Chaplin where he was staying at some home and the owners were fans of his so they decided to show him something, they took him to the attic and pulled some limbless from underneath a bed and started playing music to make the child squirm like it was dancing and when they were done with it they just slid the child back under the bed.

It was actually really short, but really intense.

I was lying in a bed in some location that was not my room. There was a television in front of me that turned on after a few seconds. On it was that video that channels would play when the world is ending, the one with the military band playing music. Then suddenly very close to me I heard this terrifying scream. A scream I can only describe as sounding like it wanted to devour my soul. I quickly woke myself up. Probably the scariest part came then. I was still in shock from that scream, but when I closed my eyes I saw a bunch of creepy looking eyes staring at me. It's like how an image gets imprinted when you look at light for a while and then close your eyes. I had never had this happen to from a dream so that was really freaky. It took several minutes to completely wear off.

It doesn't sound bad but fuck, that scream was the worst thing I have ever heard.

It was in Clive Barkers Undying. You get this power that lets you see things hidden or like the true nature of things.

So for example there's a picture of a father and his daughter, i use the power and the picture changes, i see the Daughter, that now looks like a monster chopping his father head off.

I come out of the vision power and i hear a slow breathing in my right headphone, and I KNOW , i know shes there. I turned slowly to the right and like an inch in full scream i see the daughter in monster shape looking at me.

I dont now what happen next because i turned the PC of straight from the power button and run to my garden. (i was like 14)

The strange thing is i then comeback reloaded looked at the picture again (now weapons prepared) but nothing happened, she did not showed up.

Later i learn the game was kind of random, way ahead of its time.

Could be a form of sleep paralysis. I started to get it last year. I open my eyes and I guess I'm on the edge of sleep, so I start to hallucinate but I can't really move. First time it was nothing, I saw a few hundred black moths fly out of my monitor (this was in the morning, sun had come up). Anyway, after the fucker comes back at full force on the screen... that little moment... plus the wuwuwuwu sound it made.

I fucking cried, I was fucking terrified. What's worse its that my cousins would pause it in that moment and they would be all "It's gone bro, you can watch the screen now." it wasnt gone

Another thing that gave me fucking nightmares was when they would play Mortal Kombat on the SNES, I don't remember which one but there was a forest stage or something and there were some trees opening their mouth and going all "bahhhhhh". Creepiest shit ever, I haven't seen it since that time (around 6 years old) and I hope I never do, though now that I'm way older it intrigues me. Also on that same stage I think there was a fucking ninja popping out of the grass or something... that also scared the fucking shit out of me.

Also in street fighter when Dhalsim would win and he did this dance while staring at you shaking his head. I hated it and would cry too.

That reminds me of this old Knytt Stories custom level where there's this giant machine drilling a hole that takes you down into the mouth of this spoopy underground monster. I mean the last enemy I faced before I stopped for the day were haunted wheelchairs who would ram into me, spin around in a circle, the rush back down the hallway. And it was a fucking pack of them, there was like six or seven going up and down the hallway.

I really don't get how they thought this stuff was scary. SH4 has a couple of creepy enemies, but the rest just make me laugh.

I don't know if this is sleep paralysis or what but sometimes when falling asleep I get this weird feeling I dunno how to describe it, like a vibrating metal sound in my ear like something would vibrate really really fast and when it happens I'm aware of it and I begin to see shadows even with my eyes closed and I can't really move, last time it happened I got the sound thing and I began to see white and black shadows that began to form scary but thankfully not too detailed faces. Then they went away and "woke up".

Amnesia when you are finally leaving the cistern, you think you have finally got away and then you hear that fucking whirring sound.

I've experienced lucid dreaming once, and I'm never gonna try and experience that shit again.

I drew what I saw the next day, because of how vivid the memory was, and I had to get it down.
It sucks ass, I know. But it was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen in my life.

It just stood there, staring at me. It never moved out of place, just jittered every once in a while. It also sounded like it was inhaling constantly, with a really bad case of smoker's lung.

To me, the scariest thing in a video game was not the regenerators from resident evil 4, but the hospital area where you first find one.

The tight corners.
The narrow hallways.
The cold, dark abandoned atmosphere.
The silence.
The feeling like you are descending into hell itself the whole way through.

When i got to one of the corridors where i turned a corner and saw a set of double doors that looked like it led to a meat locker full of genetic abominations and evil beyond comprehension, i went full paranoid. It was the first time i actually stopped playing a game for at least a week out of pure fear.

Give me some suggestions on what messed up games to play.
I'm not a huge fan of typical horror, I'm easy to scare. As such, I typically don't like jumpscares or any of the typical crap that goes on in most 'horror' games and movies.
I do however, love it when a game pulls at my mind with how weird, warped, or fucked up it is.
I've played Yume Nikki as well as .flow. .flow was really fucking amazing in terms of how 'horror type weird' it is.

I've also played through the first Silent Hill a few times, but really, that's about it.
I'm usually afraid of trying mainstream horror games because I'm a pussy and don't like cheap scares. As I said, I strongly prefer psychological fuckery.
