I always pick a female character to empower the female presence in the video game industry. Not enough games let us play as a female and it makes me sick to my stomach. A woman can be just as strong as a man.

usually male, but when I'm playing bioware games I choose girl characters because it is hella awkward to flirt/getting in stealth romances with other girls.

I always play as a male if the choice is given.

Unless there's stupid crap like gender locked classes.

Male. It's easier to identify/roleplay with a male blank slate character for me. Same reason I usually play as a white guy.

Pretty much this. My first or main playthrough will always be human male if possible because I typically try to play as an idealized version of myself. I can understand why people would choose otherwise but for me immersion is the most important.
