What does /v/ think of Project M?
I think its the best Super Smash Bros. ever.
Most people I've shown this game to liked this much more than Brawl/Sm4sh. If there was a PM to Sm4sh, it'd probably overtake sm4sh. Too bad PM is going to suffer because Nintendo hates it, OH WELL.
>What does /v/ think of Project M?
That is has no right to exist. This is not the board to discuss any modding of SSB. At all. I think it's a nice mod, even if there are character changes that I flatout disagree with. I wish I had people to play with, though.
I enjoy playing it and it massively improved the piece of trash that brawl originally was. If they added a Lucina skin for marth then I would have no reason to play sm4sh
>implying a mod to Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the best on the series
>Brawl Minus been much better
to save you from getting your hopes up they won't, because 1.Lucina isn't already licensed to be in Brawl, and 2.The dev team generally avoids making skins that are actually completely different people (Ike's is considered a "cosplay" and Dark Meta Knight is an exception but works for obvious reasons)
If they would release the way they insert the models into the game I would do it myself. I haven't looked recently but I remember when I did look for tutorials on how to add your own models into the game all I could find was ancient stuff that only let you pull vertexes around
Super Smash Bros. Brawl wasn't that bad.
Brawl brought us third-party characters, a real adventure mode, Smashville, the versions of Final Destination and Battlefield shits on the Melee's version and was the base for Project M.
Still far better then the first Super Smash Bros. game.
Oh, you can already do that on your own; just hope that someone already makes/is planning on making a Lucina model and all you have to do is download it and install it. There are tutorials to do this, but the basic idea is you go to Brawl Vault (part of a brawl mod site called kittycorp) and download whatever skin you want, then put it in the character's folder within the project m directory in the sd card.
I'm looking into getting a Wii in the next couple of months and hacking it. Which Brawl mod is better? Are all of PM's features still runnable on a Wii?
Do either of them fix Falco going into free fall after side-Bing like Kerfuffle did?
>Which Brawl Mod is better?
Subjective but Project M has the most advanced tech of the modding scene by far.
> Are all of PM's features still runnable on a Wii?
No netcode, but I don't think the netcode build for 3.5 is out anyway. I just play it on Wii myself.
>Do either of them fix Falco going into free fall after side-Bing like Kerfuffle did?
I don't know how to answer this question.
I was surprised how simple it was. I mainly play Melee and only casually play PM but I played with some dedicated PM players in friendlies at a tournament last weekend expecting to get wrecked and thoroughly stomped them.
Characters feel a lot more easier to use as well.
Easier then melee in every way.
Easier to pull combos.
The hits are not as random as they are in melee the physics suck.
Its also about 1/4th the speed of melee
In melee I have been playing 13 years and I still do new things. I spiked someone with an up b attack using peach.
Because everything is worse than melee when your a fucking retard obviously.Anyway I quit 3.5 Melee top tiers have way to much bias and have made then all either stupid strong or piss poor and wont be changed simply because melee players don't want them to be.
Get both PM and Brawl Minus. They're both fun and have their own merits. If you have 2 SD cards, you can keep one ready with PM and one with minus.
Yes they freefall after side b.
I guess, but not... significantly.
>Mewtwo is overpowered
Okay, you just haven't played 3.5 then. The physics and Mewtwo have been polished.
>Easier than Melee in every way
which means better character balance, yes?
>Easier to pull combos
I don't see how that's a flaw
>The hits are not as random as they are in melee the physics suck.
What does that even mean?
>Its also about 1/4th the speed of melee
>In melee I have been playing 13 years and I still do new things. I spiked someone with an up b attack using peach.
Then experiment with PM to learn even more things. Melee hasn't been updated since PAL, but PM's newest version came out about a month ago. Also what you said is not an objective game design flaw.
You can balance combos off of people better the game is designed for combos in melee.
Designed like every hit could be random but you can still combo.
PM ITS THE SAME HITS OVER AND OVER.
No it means more boring gameplay and less to figure out
Is English not your first language? "You can balance combos off of people better the game". What the fuck are you trying to say? Every hit could be random? I'm pretty sure you can't combo Mario's Fsmash into Dtilt in any game.
>Combos are extremely easy
Anon, most characters have that going for them in PM. Less than 3.0, but you can get shit done with anyone. It might just seem jarring because most of us are playing Smash4 also.
Anyone on the west coast or more specifically the Pacific Northwest down for some netplay?
>and Zero Suit Samus.
Still don't like most of her changes. I'm going to have to get over it, though.
By nerfing everyone that isn't protected by the melee bubble hes moved from B tier to top.Really viable Melee characters just need to be open to change because when they refuse to nerf them but nerf everyone else its just fucking stupid it even hurts Jigglypuff and ICs which at most they will barely tweak.
No tether grab is fantastic, but I think the animation still needs work. One of their weakest ones.
I'm not really feeling Ganondorf though. I miss his old Fsmash. Maybe it's just my mind, but I feel like it isn't as strong as it once was.
Ganon's Fsmash didn't get changed at all outside of the animation
Hover is fucking amazing, the reflector is pretty eh since the timing is weird, but it gives you a jab reset that doesn't knock people away which is great
I'd believe it when I see it. Emukiller was talking quite a bit about how he has to make up for the changes that Mewtwo has. The tail length nerf hits harder than you might think.
I think Sakurai and Nintendo should feel embarrassed that a group of random dudes have better ideas and concepts than real fully-funded teams of professionals and an overpaid ideas guy (Sakurai).
In order for it to not go stale, Sakurai needs to go. He already prefers Brawls set of code rather than actually changing every Smash game to feel different. Smash 5 will probably just be a Smash 4 update, and nothing else. It's gonna feel the same and nothing will change, and that will kill Smash. Yes, Smash can die if it doesn't evolve, even on a casual level. Sakurai intends to keep using the Smash 4 code and physics since he actively hates Melee and anything related to it.
I'm guessing it does sting him and Nintendo a bit that so many people enjoy playing PM more than the official games. Instead of being butthurt about it, they should take notes. PM is even a better casual game than Brawl.
I'm not intrested in playing it.
Most I would do is just start it up and take pictures of Zelda.
I think for 3.0, diddy was still the most broken since he was easy to play for huge reward. Lucas and mewtwo were strong too, but people were adjusting to them. Mario were rising in the end of 3.0 as tons of top players were picking him up.
I think 3.5 fix a lot of problem and smooth the game out. There don't seem anything broken right now.
I would have to say that PM is easier than melee, but not in a bad way. Many characters, like spacies, snakes, etc.., still hahe high skill, high reward trait. Some characters, especially many of the reworked brawl and low tier melee, are easier to pick up for intermediate level, but aren't really broken in 3.5 anymore.
Because Sakurai doesn't think he's making a fighting game - he's making a party game, for that purpose he's succeeding at it.
But why the fuck wouldn't Nintendo attempt to endorse this? There are companies willingly attempting at making their game into a competitive played one, yet here the players themselves are attempting to do it because they like the premise so much. Response from Nintendo? "Go fuck yourself". And Sakurai literally implementing things to make it less competitive.
Unless the projectile is far away from you, you'll get punished from the end lag of the reflection. It's why you don't see Lucas/Ness mains use their magnets as intended either.
Some people are saying Sheik. Almost everyone got nerfed but she stayed almost completely the same. But like this guy said: >>276971664
3.5 is still way too new to have a tier list.
