The problem is you eat through nails and cells pretty damn quick, and on some of the later levels, multiple shamblers spawn (Along with even worse enemies backing them up). I almost always have to resort to regular shotgun while popping out around the corner if I'm going to kill them instead of run.

Both of those you suggested do work wonders though, as Shamblers have a 50% resistances to grenades and rockets.

Part of their creepiness came from the fact that they were all once human (and you can see human features, like faces), before their transformation into artifical neo-mitochondrion creatures (ANMCs). Later you find that some of them were likely volunteers, since it was sold as a shot at eternal youth.

Here's another design: bonesucklers crawl in packs, searching for prey. When prey is found, one of the pack pumps blood to its head until it explodes and the prey is shredded with razor sharp bits of bone. Fucking exploding babies.

I got to level 97 of the pit of 100 Trials with non-buffed partners and no gimmicky shit like danger Mario.

In Vanilla WoW, in the level 12-20 Westfall area the primary enemy theme was Gnolls and Defias extremists. One such Defias in particular were the pillagers whom were mages and their fireball spells hit PARTICULARLY hard.

Note that in vanilla wow you didn't have all this huge power so you could face tank 5 enemies at once and chaos dunk them. Paladins and Hunters could get away with fighting more than one but most any other class would get shrek'd in about 3 to 4 fireballs. Lets not forget they tend to spawn in clusters in small confined spaces you HAVE to go through.

I found that at least on normal, a very large portion of his damage is cold damage. You can drink a thawing potion to temporarily gain 75 cold resist for 20 or so seconds, which makes the fight much, much easier.

Walking through the inn was a sure way to wind up with multiple mob aggro since anytime they patrolled through doors or down stairs, they were sure to find you. Sometimes, they even threw fireballs through walls for extra fuck you.

Also, I kind of miss that about classic. When soloing in the world, pulling two mobs was pretty frightening unless you were a tank or had an escape, and multiple ones would chew through you quickly and constantly daze you on escape. Plus some other shit making them track you perfectly. If you come out of cover, every enemy alive will begin firing at you with perfect accurately immediately.
