I just bought a Vita, it should arrive around Christmas. To me it's worth owning for Persona since I haven't played it, Freedom Wars, Akiba's Trip, and a few other games. It don't have an incredibly large library, but I'm getting near enough the amount of games I have for my 3DS.

I'd just hold onto the vita and just save up for it. It's not that pricey and you can ad hoc multiplayer your digital titles. Wouldn't have to worry that much about compatibility since you can always play those unpatched ones on your vita.

Ports are the exact opposite of good for a handheld. When a portable system tries to mimic a console, the experience is usually very worse. That's why the PSP and Vita were so terrible when put side to side to the DS and 3DS: while the producers wanted to bring new stuff for the Nintendo devices, you only had the exact same experiences from PS2/PS3 with Sony, but worse.
