It isn't really apparently here, but the stages are intractable and there are lots of item pick ups like swords that remind me of Smash Bros.

That's basically what happened. Vita has lots of good games, but they're not brand names and come from smaller studios. Big companies have decided they're too big to bother with a few hundred K in sale now, million plus only, even if it means lost profits.

Yeah, there are text/story segments, but you can pretty much ignore them. The menus may be difficult to navigate, and there are a HUGE amount of characters to unlock (every angel is playable, for instance) and I'm not sure how to unlock them.

Definitely worth pirating and checking out. (I recommend PPSSPP, lags on a real PSP).

I'm really liking Gurumin. Why did nobody ever tell me the PSP had an awesome library? I can't exhaust all the good games still and I've been messing with the emulator for over a year.

Zettai Hero Project is VERY quirky, very funny and enjoyable to play. It's a turn based roguelike, though, not a action adventure. Gurumin was wonderful.

Was it worth it? Yeah. I spent an hour a day studying, and then just learned from stuff I did in my spare time (video games, anime).

To put it this way: In two years, I could have spent all my time playing video games. Instead, I learned Japanese along with video games, and now I know Japanese. From my perspective now, it's definitely worth it, since otherwise I would have just played video games.

I kinda did too. The backgrounds had a lot more atmosphere to them and felt more in line with how gothic CV should be. The original's great too but the anime style puts me off. I like the redesigns, and Dracs new form plus the hydra and succubus are great new bosses.

Patapon 1 and 2 (3rd one is garbage).
Really unique rythm games, the only game in that genre that comes close to this quality would be the upcoming Crypt of the NecroDancer.
Even then, it's not the same kind of game.
