Honestly, I hated Souls for it's Marketing.

The whole prepare to die shit irritates me to no end and it really discredits the atmosphere and interconnected and living metroid-like world.

I'm not even big into Smash but it seems obvious to me that Nintendo/Sakurai/Whoever doesn't want to cater to smashfags because it would require actual effort and research. I think this especially after they put in For Glory and For Fun but decided to make every stage final destination which isn't how tourney shit works at all and clearly favors character like Little Mac that win fights on the ground. No platforms = Worse aerial game. The amount of thought that went into stuff like this seems minimal and it feels like someone decided to throw tourneyfags a bone but not actually try to appease them in any meaningful way.

Smashfags can be cancer, sure, but it doesn't mean that they don't exist or that they don't have a clue what would work better in a smash game. It's not like any casual is going to notice small differences anyway.
