What's the new design of lightsaber of videogames?
>they finally get red lightsabers right
>the blade is finally jagged, rough and chaotic due to the synthetic red crystal typically used in Sith blades
>then they go maximum tard and make a fucking "light hilt" which would make practical use of the fucking blade damn near impossible
The hilt is just for the added edge, if you catch my drift. Even the sith knows its utterly useless for anything else than looking cool, so the lightsaber have seperate controls for the blade and guard. He will turn the shit off when he fights seriously.
They had the color right from the get-go. This "longsaber" with the crossguard is fucking shit. Just because Sith crystals are unstable doesn't mean the looping field needs to be jaggy, in fact they're considered unstable because their artificially produced unlike the natural crystals Jedi use.
I think the design is great, it looks practical and already tells me that JJ Abrams is caring well for the universe by reverting back to how the force was presented in the old films: Subtle ways of using it, and in battle it acted more of an extra arm rather then a thing that could blow up shit.
The sword itself with the hilt and all is a callback to old sword designs.
You fucking fuckers will complaing about anything.
Maybe he uses his lightsaber like a normal sword instead of swinging it around like an autist?
Maybe it isn't a hilt guard, but an exhaust vent due to it being extra-powerful or inexpertly made with synthetic crystals
Maybe it is there so your fingers don't get cut the fuck off mid battle, dumbfucks
>lol but I coold jus cut it off huehuehue
Really? You will alter to fighting style to attempt to MAYBE successfully cut the hilt off, and then what? HAHA now I have a /normal/ lightsaber. You really got me.
Maybe it is made from Cortosis. Didn't think of that, did you?
Try and cut it, you saber malfunctions and you're fucking fucked m8.
>Except it's the exact opposite if you know literally anything about swords.
You mean like most real swords?
What's the topic I want to discuss tertiary to videogames of videogames?
The amount of retardation and irony in this post is astounding.
I really, really hope you're just trying to troll me. In the case that you're somehow this profoundly stupid, a hilt on an actual sword isn't made of light that will sever your fucking hand.
>throwing deep sea threads in with the /b/ tier threads
There is a reason why crossguards weren't made out of blades.
They were used to protect your fingers and to give you extra thrusting power so your hand wouldn't slide towards your blade.
The JJ saber would make sense if the crossguard was made out of some lightsaber resistant material, not just some lasers glued on it.
I think he means putting a metal guard on the finger side. The metal guard side would prevent the user's fingers from touching the lightsaber guard, while the lightsaber guard side would block other lightsabers,
