Anyway, the teaser picture of EOV looks pretty interesting. How do you think they're going to handle progression? Something akin to Airships, like in EOIV? Or back the traditional menu-based exploration?

I hope for an EOIV-like exploration system, personally. Really liked the cave/labyrinth balance, felt that it gave some variety.

As for EO:MD, the only MD game I've ever played was Pokemon MD: Blue Rescue and I didn't really like the stamina model of that game. Is that a staple in most MD titles?

I love the original Shiren the Wanderer and EO so I'm disappointed to be yuropeon.

Mystery Dungeon is a roguelike, it won't be similar to main EO at all. Besides, MD is almost finished and EOV is a long way off. Most likely the team that just finished making EOU2 started working on this only now and that bg concept is all they have to show so far.

Well there's Nocturne/Persona Team and Maniax Team for SMT. Pretty sure Devil Survivor has it's own staff as well. And then there's the folk that makes Etrian Odyssey.

Most of the spin-offs are at least partially made by external teams, Intelligent Systems for SMTxFE, Arc System works for Persona 4 Arena etc.

I'm very happy new EO is coming out and i really loved how Atlus didn't fucked EO fanbase over with Untold containing almost untouched, polished and upgraded remake of the original game on top of new story mode. It's fucking awesome win/win situation.

Honestly, are just fucking bitter human that hates videogames? What's fucking wrong with good series growing and getting recognition and spin-offs? That is, unless main-series isn't forgotten. And it isn't so far, so all's good.

Not missing much, EO4 is very light on bullshit. Only other I've played is EO3 and you need a bit of tolerance for its terrible gathering system.(EO3 still favorite and well worth your time if you like 4)

I do suggest trying to find what the actual values are on skills since EO games are terrible at helping you weigh skills against one another.(a skill might increase damage by 5% while another 10% for investing 5 skill points)

Since, for me, Etrian Odyssey was one of the best games released on NDS, I cant really express how happy I am to hear that after Sega grip on Atlus, this series is still alive.

Along with EO IV, this would give me 3 reasons to buy 3DS. 4 if I would count Untold (but I dont really like the idea of forced party) and 5 if Rune Factory 4 will finally receive EU release.

Maybe I should finally buy this whole 3DS...
