Such a human feeling to Nier in the sense that all he wanted was to protect his little girl.

The snow in the summer didn't matter. It was out of place, but never mentioned. The "map" looking vaguely similar to a certain place we all know. Never mentioned, it didn't matter. The things that died. It was to protect his daughter. They didn't matter. The end result, the confusion, about the Shadowlord, Popula, Devola.. None of it mattered.

All he wanted was to save his daughter. All the replicant and gestalt both wanted to do was to save their daughter.

And as you played through it all, you didn't even realize half the shit happening around you. But it was there. You just ignored it, too.

I know, I know. Everyone hates it. I didn't really give a shit about it until it went on sale, and Steam recommended it. It's not a "game" so much as interactive fiction, but I'm fine with that. I thought it was sweet, I thought it was poignant; and the ending made the start more sensible.

I thought it was very sweet, reminiscent of an age I lived in, and it filled me with a weird blend of nostalgia for being a kid again. It told a good story and it made me a bit weepy.

I kept dying, over and over, trying to save Kyousuke and always fucking up.

Hell, you don't even have to try so hard to be in a relationship iirc. You somewhat hint at it and she already jumps you.

Hisao's usually an idiot, but he was the worst of all in Rin's route, by a wide margin. In Hanako's route, at least, both of them are being stupid and not communicating properly, and they have the same issues in getting through to each other, which made it bearable. Rin's route was more of Rin being pretty easily readable, and getting bogged down with pressure and deadlines and shit and Hisao being completely oblivious to that and trying to force his feelings on her at every point, with no consideration for how she feels. It was painful to deal with.

I think I liked Lily's route the best because it put the least focus on that sort of drama. It was a more open and direct route; less pussyfooting about and instead focusing on different issues.

Lilly had a good handle on her blindness from a practical perspective, but it took its toll on her personality. The angle of her route is how she always tries to appear to be cool and confident so that people don't worry about her, instead of expressing how she really feels.
