>Sony Bends working on another game, possibly another Uncharted spinoff
>Sony trademarked Jeanne D'arc hinting at a new game
>Gravity Rush 2 being made
>toukiden kiwami stated for a 2015 western release
>inevitable Freedom Wars ultimate edition
Looks like once again the vita will have more worthwhile games than the 3DS in 2015
Soul Sacrifice 2 is also in development. Persona Dance all night and still more from third party to be announced.
Yes. Hopefully we see the localized build soon in December.
SSD was the only good one there, and it was made by Comcept
FW was made by Shift and they somehow made it worse than God Eater
Gravity Rush was the only one actually done by Sony, and it wasn't even good since the combat was shit and there was fuck all to do in the sandbox they gave you
I hear people say that all the talent of Japan Studio left a while ago, and that they're only still considered good because they take credit of games like Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars, while the other studios did all the work, is this true?
Were they recreating the scene from PS4 golden? Anyways what I got from the ad, was they were drawing on the inherent regret some of us feel for lost opportunities, and that we shouldn't wait and just buy a vita now.
The last game they made on their own was Knack, make of that what you will
and yet it still has no games compared to the 3ds where we have over 100+ games announced already for 2015 while you have to make shit up to make it seem like the vita is getting ports.
I think what kills me the most is atlus. They are split between vita and 3ds. If they put all of their 3ds games on the vita, the vita's library would be amazing. Also they should start licensing ero games uncensored. I mean they lose to nintendo on the mainstream end, why maintain the pretense anymore.
It's still in development for Vita.
>expecting anymore PSVita only AAA games anymore
They're deader than ded. Ports, indies, and remote is all we're getting from now on.
>to make it seem like the vita is getting ports.
Yeah, it's a shame the vita only get ports while the 3ds gets tons of high quality rehashes, dumbed down chibi graphic games like the atelier stuff and persona q that is coming due to the 3ds terrible hardware and hot stuff like mario #8372827 or pokemon remakes. You sure showed us how good the 3ds is.
I really prefer a few good ports (most of them are enhanced and clearly superiour to the original like disgaea 3/4 or p4g) and 10/10 games like soul sacrifice or tales of hearts r to a bunch of fastfood games like the 3ds always get. And most of the praised 3ds games are shit. Bravely default was shit, smash 4 is useless now where the wii u version is out and pokemon games were always shit.
The director said on his last stream while playing fifa that it's in heavy production now. They aren't in crunch but the game is being made. If you have a Nico premium account you can access the last six months of his streaming archive.
>Sony trademarked Jeanne D'arc hinting at a new game
Does Vita have any good strategy games atm? That's one thing I'm missing compared to the PSP, which had amazing stuff like Tactics Ogre LUCT and Valkyria Chronicles 2 + 3.
afaik, only Phantasy Star Nova exists with nothing announced or coming down the pipeline.
Studio Japan is more of a publishing arm then a developer at this point. They back projects like Bloodborne, The Tomorrow Children, Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice and stuff rather than do in house development most of the time. They have a bunch of producers they put on each project to help finance, market and manage millstone stuff.
Dark Souls portable when?
Diablo 3 portable when?
Harvest Moon: Transcendence when?
Killzone mercenary 2 when?
Tearaway 2 when?
Reallly? Care to explain why? Not a single good 1st party vita game or PS4 game.
Infamous is shit, always has been
LBP is shit, always has been
Killzone is shit, always has been
Resistance is shit, always has been
Gravity Rush is shit
Tearaway is shit
Knack is shit
Golden Abyss is shit
That smash bros ripoff is shit
Haven't played Puppeteer, but I'm going to go with the safe guess and say it's shit too
Probably a few other pieces of trash I and everyone else have forgotten about.
Their Vita output is beyond shit. The best games on that platform are "indie" games.
Best PS3 games are the PS2 collections. Only decent 1st party games I can think of since the PS2 are Uncharted 2 and God of War 3. Demon's Souls is the best exclusive and it isn't 1st party. #Believe(in mediocrity) #4theSuckers
That's the next major release, yes, but there are plenty more like IA/VT, Cyber Sleuth (which is massive right now), Ys 8, EDF V2, Gundam Breaker 2, NOVA, SUper Hoer Generation, Edo Blacksmith, Luminous Ark Infinity, and Stranger of Sword City.
No need to lie man, I was in Japan this week, they had ads for most of this shit plastered everywhere, even NOVA has been getting amazing reception and was all over Akibahara.
Uh, yeah, they really did. It sold pretty great, and general perception from what I gathered most seemed to love it.
Great reviews from pretty much every outlet minus digital ratings from vocal minorities who rode the OG game. A sample of 1000 from the 100000+ that actually bought it is hardly something, more when the game was still retailing for full price and people had it on the VIta top recommended shelves.
Infamous is good, always has been.
LBP is decent, always has been
Killzone, is okay, always has been.
Resistance 3 was fantastic, 1 and 2 were okay.
Tearaway is great
Golden Abyss is pretty good
Knack and PSABR are the only shit ones you listed.
But that's all your opinion. I can easily say,
Mario is shit, always has
Without giving reasons
All your doing is saying everything's shit while thinking everyone has the same view as you
Not for me. I put 25 hours into the game before I even realized those two buttons did anything. I'm like a level 83-84 mage and got to Huntsmans crossing before I pressed the buttons and realized what they did.
Pic related too, the sections in all retailers in Tokyo have pretty massive Vita sections.
The Vita hate disturbs me somewhat. If you ask /v/ about the Sega Saturn, you'll get a billion posts about why it was a fantastic console despite not selling well, and having a small library of games. Niche retro stuff gets all sort of love. But then you get something like the Vita, which is turning into a niche handheld full of great, overlooked titles and it's 'shit' because it lacks popular titles everyone can discuss with anybody they come across.
Maybe it's just the teenaged 3DS fanboys vs Vita fanboys that cause this.
> Maybe it's just the teenaged 3DS fanboys vs Vita fanboys that cause this.
It's just this really. /v/ isnt old enough to shitpost about the Saturn. /vr/ might be, but I'm too young to go there so I dont really know.
I think people get upset because most of the really good games and ports aren't getting localized. Also most people on V only play something if they can pirate it. I've noticed once something is piratable there are hundreds of threads praising the game.
That's the case for literally everything. Handhelds are the only thing good for on the go gaming, so they have a place. But I do with consoles didn't exist so I can enjoy games without buying all the platforms.
Basically boils down to them being 2nd rate games compared to what was on the 360 at the time.
Gears was a lot better than Uncharted. Uncharted 2 was still good. Sick of the Uncharted formula by 3.
All of their attempts at FPS were shit compared to Halo. Even if they were good they'd be ruined by the DS3 controller having such loose, imprecise sticks.
Killzone and LBP control horribly so they inherently can't be good games.
Can't stand Media Molecule games in general. They're tediously simple and rely on a "so cute and creative!!!" thing. If only they'd be creative in the gameplay department, but that'd be harder for them since they seem to be a studio of artists and not game designers.
Infamous was so bleak and boring. The world felt empty, the enemies were not fun to fight. Only good thing about it was the movement, which they carried over from the actually good Sly Cooper series.
Gravity Rush is a similar situation where the world is so boring and empty and it's just not that fun. Having to wave the Vita around and use other gimmick features because it had to be a showcase game also ruined it.
Heavenly Sword was also ruined by shoehorning in gimmick controls with its mandatory suckaxis controls.
Then there's Haze and Lair and I don't think anyone would argue these aren't shit.
Prior to /vr/ you could have Sega Saturn threads on /v/, and the general consensus is the same.
"Niche console with great games that's overlooked because everyone hated it."
I bet you use 'weeb' as an adjective a lot, don't you?
went more in depth than "this is an awful opinion". can't expect people with such shit standards and people that would actually defend such sub par games to have valid arguments and decent opinions though.
Smash gets dull very quickly, also unless you're a massive Nintendo fan it just doesn't have much appeal period. You should've something like Kid Icarus Uprising or some other game that's actually good & original.
It's you're opinion versus theirs you fucking retard. Are you honestly suggesting games need to be bad because you can't enjoy them?
Hit your head on a curb, you might kick start your brain again.
Both sides are guilty of it, you tard.
>and talking about how their device is superior.
Oh no. How dare these people prefer one handheld over another!
You sound like an asspained 3DS fanboy to me.
3DS fanboys shitpost nearly every Vita thread until no more meaningful discussion can occur, even if the OP isn't stirring console war shit up.
It really doesn't even matter at this point.
the first uncharted was generic gears ripoff that came out a year after gears. gears base gameplay was much more fun and it was THE multiplayer to play at the time. Uncharted didn't even get that until 2 and it was never as good as Gears.
They can. Shit posting only ruins threads because people choose to respond. This is why 2hu threads on /v/ are so great.
There's also legit smartphone fanboys who think that carrying around a smartphone with a 5 inch screen and a controller is 'portable.'
Or they brag about hooking up their smartphones to their HDTVs and using them like an Ouya and being /proud/ of it.
Well I already told you why you will never get rational threads of the Vita on /v/. As long as people shittfling crap, you will never have nice things. You need this generation war to die, and settle off before you have your chill threads.
Sega Saturn is over 5 year old, and the Vita hasn't ended it's lifespan at all. If Sega Saturn was alive today it would be shtiposted just like the Wii U is today. You need to understand the reason why Sega Saturn get good thread is because the dust has settle and shitposter moved on to newer generations of hardware.
No thanks. I own a Vita and it's easily the worst device I have ever owned. I don't think I've ever had more buyers remorse. Even though it's dumb to sell systems seeing this piece of shit in my house makes me want to throw up.
>Yet a vita thread without console warring shitposting in the OP will still get wrecked to oblivion by fanboys. It's like you're new.
You are fucking stupid? For the last time. You can't have sensible threads on niche consoles until the dust has settled, and shitposters move on.
Vita has been dead since launch and there's no reason why anyone would want to remember that garbage when it has literally no games.
Maybe you should stop being so defensive about a shit handheld and buy a 3DS and play something fun for once instead of shitposting and ruining threads with your bullshit and lies.
Come on now, if we're gonna pull the "rip-off" card, let it be known that cover-based gameplay (which I'm going to assume is what you mean by UC ripping off Gears) is nothing new and actually made its debut during the PS2 era in a game called Kill.Switch as seen here:
all that weebshit
Toukiden was shit, Atelier games are all the same. And no one cares about Uncharted or Gravity Rush enough to buy a vita.
Freedom Wars is a really good game though.
Yeah. This is one of the worst things about owning a Vita. It's impossible to ask whether a game is good or not because they say everything is the best game ever. I've bought so much crap for the Vita thanks to Vitagen. I think the total number of good games I've actually played on it are <5.
>Implying it isn't better than Monster Hunter and Touforgetabble
Oh anon, you so silly.
No seriously, get better taste.
Yes. I love the iOS crafting system, infinite revives, stunlock, useless dodge, intrusive and boring as fuck story, and lack of boss variety. As long as the character creator is good!
I don't even really dislike the Vita, seriously, I don't care for the thing.
But the fanbase is delusional as fuck and insanely annoying, which makes me want to see that shit crash and burn while sony decides that they won't ever release a handheld again seriously
Sony has flat out said they aren't making anything with a budget for Vita anymore.
They are either making PS4 game or they've gone 100% mobile in Sony's attempt to push their remote play mobile ideas.
EU? It's 15 euros on psn right now for a few more days and probably wont be anymore for a while. Also if you're EU and you want to play a SRPG buy Tactics Ogre instead or aswell. It's 10 euros for 2 more weeks right now and it's a great game.
If you're US and paying full price, I dunno. It's a pretty decent game and it has all the dlc.
I'd say it's probably worth it if you do a bit more research on it before you buy it.
What about the people who actually used melee and need the light/heavy attack dichotomy
It's not like I wouldn't want it to happen, but I just don't see it being feasible due to the lack of buttons
Man, that's rough. EU PSN has amazing deals every month, especially for vita where they're just throwing discounts everywhere just to sell games (which is both great and maybe a bit sad).
It's still worth it to go phys for the feeling that you own the game, but these price drops so often and soon after releases really makes you think twice.
I can relate to that. When I was "growing up" I decided that the Nintendo games coming out at the time were too kiddy, and that owning a PS2 would make me cool and "mature". I ended up only enjoying the DBZ Budokai games and eventually gave up and went back to my Gamecube.
>While baiting the other fanboys
Why can't /v/ just shut up about the other side for once and just talk about games. It's like every 4 out of 5 threads I visit is filled with people baiting
I've been on the fence about buying a Vita for a little over a year now. Other than Tales of, Ys, and Gravity Rush, I can't think of anything else I'd like for sure that isn't a port, remake, or PSP game. Can you guys help me out? Obviously I'm mostly into Japanese stuff, but I prefer what most weeaboo's call pretentious and 3deep5me entry level bullshit. If there are any more games that fit the description that are getting localized, I'd love to know about them.
I have no idea what a 3deep5me entry level bullshit is supposed to be, can you give some examples? I don't see how any of the games you've posted have anything to do with "good stories"
>I'm into japanese stuff
>Vita isn't for you.
Don't buy a Vita If you can't even put the work in to research and look for titles that might interest you. It has lots of games but I have no fucking clue what you mean by 2deep4u.
I don't like what /a/ likes, I like what "normalfags" would consider decent, but at the same time I prefer Japanese things to shootan and dragons.
>but I have no fucking clue what you mean by 2deep4u
Neither do I. Its just what gets shouted at me when I tell /a/ what anime I like.
>STILL NO ALTERNATE COLORS FOR VITA IN THE WEST
I don't think so, Tim.
Its not like I have no idea what games I'd want if I had a Vita, its just that my list is very small and personalized suggestions from my friends on /v/ might help broaden my horizons. It certainly did a few years ago when I was looking for old DS games that I missed out on. I probably wouldn't be giving video games in general a chance right now if some kind anons didn't help me fall in love again.
> I don't like what /a/ likes, I like what "normalfags" would consider decent, but at the same time I prefer Japanese things to shootan and dragons.
So you're a pleb? I'm hearing Naruto, One piece and Death note.
Alright, if you visit /a/ I'm sure you'll appreciate a good vn or two.
Here is my recommended list of games that a normalfag will probably enjoy.
Persona 4 golden (3psp aswell)
FFX HD and X-2 HD
Danganronpa 1 and 2
AND VLR(only after you finish 999 on the ds/ios though)(These might be the 3dp5yourass that you're looking for)
Tales of Hearts R
Disgaea (3 and 4 and the rest aswell if you really like grinding)
Plethora of hunting games that aren't my thing but people enjoy nonetheless
Rhytm games that people enjoy but aren't my thing etc..
I don't know what kind of person you are or if you have money or not.
I'm content with having a couple of good games on my handheld every year and I don't mind the wait for games to come out. I also have disposable income that most people on /v/ apperently don't.
I have, but I'm worried they'd be a huge let down after 999 and VLR. How bad are the localizations? I don't mind changes with good reasoning behind them (see anything localized by the Treehouse, Aksys, pre-Treehouse games like Earthbound), but blatant Americanization without a tongue in cheek attitude and censorship are huge turn offs.
Yeah, that's pretty much my list so far. Unfortunately I already played through and thoroughly enjoyed 999/VLR and don't like MonHun clones/rhythm games, so my choices are fairly limited. Luckily JRPGs are long as fuck so I'll be occupied for at least a year with my play speed.
You still missing Nep rebirth 2, Hyper Noire and that detective supernatural whatever from Arc System Works.
I love this fucking thing.
Pretty hyped for GDaze 2 and if youre right, some new Uncharted on it. Just add a good multiplayer this time bend.
On PSN there is a large selection of PSP games that work with the Vita but they are honestly overpriced outside of sales.
You can use a PSP exploit on your Vita if you have a specific firmware that lets you run a CFW just like on a real PSP if you want to pirate, emulate and homebrew.
Great. Another year I spend neglecting my Vita in favour of my 3DS, despite the Vita's better hardware.
I guess as someone who has actual standards for Japanese games, the Vita has nothing for me? Especially given the titles so often cited as being its best are utterly mediocre within the franchises they inhabit.
>every Vita thread always talks about the 3DS, because Vita will never stand on it's on merits
>3DS threads are always just about 3DS, unless some sonyshill gets in
I'm finally starting to lose my bias towards handhelds now that I have a decent computer chair and am thinking about getting a Vita TV since they are WAY cheaper than regular Vitas. I've heard that there are compatibility issues. How bad are they? Will most weeaboo games work?
Whatcha playing faggots?
And, should I buy Disgaea 4 Vita or NISA fucked it up in some way?
Does it have delicious Raspberyl?
Still playing Freedom Wars.
Fighting abductors is fun but fuck this story.
The revamp/sequel NEEDS an option to skip text, and not needing to go ttos different area every twenty seconds would be great too
Jesus christ. It's like I'm back to watching Panty and Stocking.
No, but if you own more than one sony console PS+ is great.
It's kinda shittier now that PS4 tripled PS+ subscriptions but for the PS3 and vita some months are great.
Also the sales and shareplay are nice if you buy digital. I buy physically mostly now, so i might let my sub run out because the games line up has been mediocre for 4 months straight and the sales are nearly worthless to me.
What the fuck went wrong with the Vita? Back when the 3DS was still $250 and they announced the Vita's launch price would be the same, I thought they had a legit shit at seriously competing, but then it just kind of disappeared.
Man, speaking of normalfag games I sure wish the Vita CoD would've been good.
And by good I mean actually fucking worked as well as the console versions do with similar amount of polish.
Had the potential to be the best handheld FPS ever, fucked up and ended up in the gutter.
But as it is now, the only shooty mcshoot game I like on Vita is Unit 13 which I got through PS+.
3DS sold on brand name alone really. The 3DS had a serious case of nogaems until nintendo worked with it.
The vita sales weren't there at first even though the tech was, so after the first wave of games people quit making games for it and it became the weeb games machine it is now.
Nintendo did price cut and they got Monster Hunter, pokemon and all these games came in and fucking killed the Vita.
I sub to PS+ in case my tripple kicks the bucket so I don't lose all my 30+ hour but still not completed JRPG saves The games are a nice bonus at times, nothing good lately other than BoI though
Nah it was real. Even got a screen cap of the article.
>Implying SCEA has anything to do with a SCEJA initiative,
No one wants western titles man. Shuhei Yoshida fucked up.
This shit is litterally ungoogleable, all you get is epic maymays. But here,
Right, yeah I remember hearing something like that aswell.
Back then it was just the 3ds being the defacto instant sell machine based on nostalgia alone which made it grow its userbase.
Now it's mostly because the Vita is getting bad press from pretty much everywhere, it's kind of like how the ps3 and 360 began except the vita won't make a recovery like the ps3 did, but it'll probably get support for a few more years.
Even if they did, it doesn't really mean much, companies trademark things all the time just to have it.
freedom wars is sure fun
lots of parts to cut off but too little time to cut em all
>Still hangs out at Kaz's arcade and Sony Japan's lunch room as a visitor
I bought a "factory restored" one from Amazon for like $160
I'll probably end up regretting it. Also, where are the individual new Vitas? I don't want a Memelands 2 bundle for $250.
>Now it's mostly because the Vita is getting bad press from pretty much everywhere
That's not the reason. They don't get good press, that's for sure, but the Vita is missing high-profile games to sell well. Weeb games obviously don't sell good enough and that's the main selling point of the machine. And indie games
Thanks for the tits anon.
So, this is what theyve been doing instead of 4.0. Not that Im hyped for it, after 3.33.
>Beating level 70 mobs isnt reasonble at level 30
Oh boy, you should play SMT I someday.
But the vast majority of games don't allow the player to access high level areas at anytime. Usually they're linear to make sure you're always strong enough to beat what you're fighting at that point.
>I can relate to that. When I was "growing up" I decided that the Nintendo games coming out at
Really? Because when I grew up I stopped finding challenges in Nintendo games and moved on.
>Back then it was just the 3ds being the defacto instant sell machine based on nostalgia alone which made it grow its userbase.
>3DS sold on brand name alone really.
And here I was thinking that super mario 3dland, OoT or Mario Kart had something to do with it.
Then came the price cut and pokemon, then you also have monster hunter, fire emblem, animal crossing, kid icarus...
The 3DS didn't cash on nostalgia, it didnt even sell at the start, if anything it's proof that people won't buy a system without games.
Nintendo supported the 3DS until it was successful
Usually I rotate party members to keep them roughly at the same level and never had any problem. Anyway, you're just screwing yourself in the scenario you described. You CAN continue the game with the characters you leveled, so grinding is optional.
How likely is it that any of these will go on sale for BF?
Also why shouldn't I buy a Vita TV instead of an actual Vita?
If you rotate party members then all of them will be underleveled, but if the game ever makes you use a specific party member for plot reasons then, you get fucked till you grind 20 levels.
I don't get why /v/'s general consensus is that smartphones are shit, I mean yes there is very few games on them worth playing but they're fucking useful devices and if you post about having one, or mention you're browsing on one you get shit on.
Why wouldn't you want a device that keeps you connected to the internet 24/7?
Nobody wanted to play most of those the first time, though. Not to mention you're just speculating when there's a bunch of 3DS titles already announced titles coming out later this December-through 2015 already.
Because smartphonefags are obnoxious?
There's nothing like arguing with a Smartphonefag who thinks is tiny little swiss army knife device can be better at any one thing than any dedicated hardware out there, but they actually do fucking think it is.
Based SCEJ fighting off the memefags who think Sony as a whole is abandoning the Vita and using it as a PS4 peripheral. Threadly reminder that idea is just the retards at SCEA who are trying to cover up their failure. SCEA tryied to create a AAA handheld market, then ignored the Japanese solution by focusing on ports of indie games which ultimately killed the platform in the west.
The worst part about CoD vita is that market analysts correlated that games failure with "AAA games not being suited for handhelds" and that "mobile style games were the best choice for handhelds."
They didn't reason out that the game itself was shit and that every amateur and professional review reflected that. If that game had actually been good and received good reviews, then the vita would be a huge success by now. Instead every story about the vita is about how "handhelds are dead"(3DS says hi), and how the vita is a huge failure.
A good handheld CoD at that point in the Vita's life would have helped it build considerable market-share, and there would be more games being made for it.
What a fucking shame.
It is serious, information is valuable, why wouldn't you want the world's most convenient and vast network of information with you at all times?
I'm not just talking about the fags who use smartphones to play games or emulate N64, I'm talking about using it as a practical device.
I platinumd the shit out of it.
Never liked MonHun, and that was the idea I had of it first, until I knew Mitsuda was gonna do the OST, then said fuck it and grabbed it.
Fucking masterpiece of entertainment. Bought Delta day one, but havent done more than carryover my saved data from SS1. I need a little rest from it and too much of a Vita backlog atm.
>Fucking masterpiece of entertainment. Bought Delta day one, but havent done more than carryover my saved data from SS1. I need a little rest from it and too much of a Vita backlog atm.
Alright but you should play it for the story, it won't take long and is worth it.
