I played the first bioshock a year ago and felt the same way I feel after watching that intro. creative, novel ideas, outlandish setting, and unreasonably eccentric and psychotic characters. basically 'alice in wonderland' under the sea and up in the air. the novelty makes it interesting, but that wears off pretty quickly and then you just want it all to end.

Again, skin grafts were sought after because they were a valid (but hideous) alternative to having a hole in your face. It's ugly because someone was crazy or desperate enough to have it done. There's no rhyme or reason behind half of these Infinite mutations because they A) don't look like actual disorders or surgeries and B) make no sense. There's nothing in nature or medicine that would give you three faces, or crystals growing out of you, or four mustaches.

It makes complete sense. The whole game was about different realities and them crashing into each other. That would be different versions of one person just mashing into eachotehr due to time-space shenanigans.

It would be unsettling at least, and it could be explained as people from columbia not seeing it due to all of them also being in several realities at once. It would be unsettling.

Imagine a scene with Booker just walking through the early game fair and just see those deformed guys, but nobody even mentioning antyhing, maybe make him try to point out, but not responses about it, then late game, people start to see what all the dimesnional meddling did to them and they go on a rampage due to despair and fear.
