If you shoot her you signal for your men to open fire but they hesitate unsure what to do, you sigh lift your pistol and put a ball straight through her chest. When the smoke clears and she falls to the ground bleeding out all the natives look up at you and their jaws drop. Then you say "have I made myself clear, leave this place, never return" and they sheepishly pick up their fallen chief's body and leave.

found a few derelict boats on the north coast of Hispaniola, decided to check them out to see if there was anything salvageable. Shockingly we found a boy still alive, though he was near death. We rushed him over to our doctor who sadly could do nothing for him. Before he passed he told us that he was on a merchant ship bound for San Tiago that was set upon and boarded by savages. I promised him that we would avenge his companions and gave him a proper christian burial.

I sent out one of my hunters to search for any tracks nearby that might belong to the heathens and he quickly found some, their footgear is quite easy to distinguish from our boots.

Despite the objections of my doctor that there we were outnumbered I could not sit idly by and let them murder good christians again.

expeditions conquistador, its half off on steam atm I'm really enjoying it

combat is like xcom with swords+early guns, on the overworld you have to manage your caravan to prevent people from starving, dieing of disease, and figuring out where to go

The gameplay so far has been a bit of a mixed bag but the writing has really held it up, you can decided to play as a benevolent white guy trying to bridge the gap between the spanish and the natives or you can just go for the classic rape and pillage conquistador.

yeah, I'm playing on a laptop as well it shouldn't be a problem

plus the game is entirely turn based (on the overworld you have a set number of moves per day before you have to camp based on your stats, combat is all turn based, and story takes place in VN style text boxes) so if you get a lot of slowdown its not going to effect the game in any way

This is one problem I've had with FO3+NV, just because its post apocalyptic doesn't mean people stop washing their floors. I mean ffs in FO3 there was even a house with people living in it that still had skeletons in the bath tub.

Is it worth it? There is nothing good coming out and I need a new game. I got into the Evolve alpha played an hour and will not buy it.

I find Oblivion a borefest to play if you're not using magic. Because holy shit just swipping my weapon from left to right on an enemy is really aggravating.

The AI for the conjured is pretty straight forward: Attack hostile shit on sight and that's about it. You can conjure up to 3 things. I remember conjuring a golden soldier, spider queen or something like that and a flesh golem (I think?). These motherfuckers cleaned out dungeons almost by themselves.

Because of that I could just rock out royal garments instead of armor or robes and just wreck shit all day like a fucking boss.

I was able to beat a group of 8 natives but when I got ambushed by 10 rebels and decided to STAND AND FIGHT rather than have a few people hold them off while I run I got creamed.

Make liberal use of the attack of opportunity mechanic. There are some classes that can 'taunt' or 'scare' an enemy into moving closer or running away - you can use that to trigger attacks of opportunity for massive damage.

Also, firebombs (can't remember what they're called) are the most useful thing in the game.

ALSO, I nearly forgot. The hunters have an amazing ability that allows them to shoot twice, if they run up to melee range. It turns them into fucking executioners.

The main thing with Attack of Opportunity is that you can create danger-zones to prevent the enemy from moving certain places. Also don't forget to flank. Scouts are great for setting up flanking attacks.

I have a question. I read that TTW uses some of the older FO3 sound effects, like the cash register sound for XP, etc.

Does it bring back the old robot voices? That was one thing I hated in NV was the changed Robot voices. The protectrons were alright, but the Mister Gutsies didn't sound like Drill Seargants any more, and the Mister Handies didn't sound like British Butlers!
