Mewtwo is actually based on Gyiyg, MOTHER and Pokemon were made by many of the same folks at the same developer.

There's a pasta out there that speculates that Pokemon takes place after MOTHER 3. Mew would be a purified form of Gyiygas, Mewtwo would be the re-corrupted form. Pokemon themselves are descendants of the chimeras, hence "Pokemon" or "Pokey's Monsters". There are even some psychic people in the Pokemon world, which would obviously be PSI.

Depends on translation where it is used.

PK is short for psychokinetic and psi is short for psionic.

All attack spells are PK, there's PSI shield and PSI magnet. Then there's abilities with nothing prefixing them, like counter, shield, hypnosis etc.

When I first gave it a try, I was under the impression that it would be a game that uses the Touhou setting to tell a Mother-esque story. It turns out it was a cringeworth crossover that got the characterization on the Touhou cast completely wrong, tries to be humorous by referencing shitty touhou maymays that were never funny, brought in Porky as a villain for no good reason, brings in Ness for no good reason, ships him with the main protagonist of Touhou for no good reason, and kills off Porky.
That, and it has god awful writing.
If you want a good Mother inspired game, go somewhere else.
