So iv bean playing this game for the past 2 hours and so far its ok.
Dont expect something on the level of bayo or mgr in my opinion its better than Anarchy Rains at least.
The combat is not really that complicated but its not brain dead ether.
Its basically a slightly simplified MGR except you can switch bending stances on the go not like weapon switching in MGR. You do have a dedicated block and doge buttons. Guarding at the right moment is same as perfect parry in MGR only slightly easier and not a guarantied isntantkill on stronger opponents but it is huge damage.
You start the game wit no bending powers because some guy blocked your chi.
So you start the game by PUNCHING PEOPLE.
No seriously you play a beadles Cora who fuckcing kicks and punches people. She can actually destroy CARS TRUCKS AND STONE WALLS USING NOTHING BUT HER BARE HANS.
But as you progress thru the story you gradually unlock bending powers and level them up fro new combos.
Overall my impression so far for the first 2-3 hours of the game which for a platinum might as well however be 1/3 of the entire game is a 7/10.
Keep in mind my opinion might improve as i get new combos and fight new enemies.
Only big minus so far is that some enemies have wonky animation glitches sometimes but its nothing serious and you cant play on the hugest difficulty from the start of the game.
You are forced to play on normal.
>dedicated block and doge buttons
Why exactly do you hate Activison?
Id milk cod babies for there money too if i could get away whit it.
And regardless of your preferences COD has tons of content considering the price tag.
Hell some people would sell you the zombie and alien mods as separate games.
I only hate how activison is not releasing more of there older franchises anymore.
I don't mind having people be forced to play on normal.
You have any fucking idea how many shit gamers out there just start on hard without reading the manuals or check the options, especially these casual niggers on /v/ who think they are gods of gaming. They start on hard and get slammed with a wall of artificial difficulty, (wahh the enemies take too long to kill, they hit me for too much damage etc.) get fucked up and then screw that the game is bad because they got fucking rolled. "Hard" difficulty has been joke since Goldeneye where the enemies suddenly have flawless accuracy and can headshot you instantly in under a fraction of a second. You shouldn't even try hard mode until you've at least played the game a bit and know how to exploit the shit out of those cheating AI niggers.
>You shouldn't even try hard mode until you've at least played the game a bit and know how to exploit the shit out of those cheating AI niggers.
To be fair, Goldeneye was incredibly fucking easy to break. Turn on Golden PP7/Golden Gun, do Factory (second level) and get to the part with Alec. Wait by the door the officer dude that holds up Alec (can't remember his name ATM) and once he opens the door, shoot him with the golden weapon. It breaks the entire sequence.
Alec never surrenders so you and him basically get to go back to back against an unending horde of mooks until you decide to just blow the place.
Who's watching Book 4?
I can't wait for pissed off Bolin.
>thinking anyone is watching Korra other than tumblr
tumblr is a great way of checking what is total garbage because they'll love it
what does that have to do with lok
thats irrelevant to what the show is doing with the character.
they are villainizing her even though shes doing the right thing, they even go out of the way to make her say bad things.
>Not that guy, but do you people seriously not know the difference between villain and antagonist?
There's no difference you dumbfuck. An antagonist is, by definition, a villain.
Take a lit 101 class, you illiterate retard.
How is it retarded?
An antagonist is literally just someone who opposes the protagonists.
Doesn't matter if they are right or wrong.
She will go crazy in the last two episodes and will become a purely evil person like all the others
>better than Anarchy Rains at least
Great, so it's not the worst game Platinum's ever made? What a great endorsement.
>Great, so it's not the worst game Platinum's ever made?
you seemed to have AR confused with Madworld
at least the multiplayer for AR can be exciting unlike just grabbing passive enemies and throwing them into things
I checked it out the other day. Seems to be alright, and Toph is still the fucking best. And I am also waiting for Bolin to nut up or shut up
>You do have a dedicated block
character action games should never have a block button
I love AR, I bought AR for 90 bucks on import to play it early and ride both population waves.
Outside of the first two months in the japanese release and the first two weeks in the US release, the online sucked. AR was completely and totally broken and Sega wouldn't pay for patches that Platinum probably didn't want to make anyway.
AR was literally their way of practicing building netcode while getting out of their Sega contract.
>tfw I am 23 and I can only get the scraggliest of goatees and some dirty ass sideburns
My father said he could not develop a full beard until he was 25, so that is likely why.
Right now shes not a real bad guy, just an extreme hard ass and a bitch. At the very least she gets fucking results and takes action. I can appreciate the contrast between not king whats his face and Ms. Roll up our sleeves and reconquer the fucking country, any sensible person would want Kuvira as their leader.
That said there is still plenty of room for her to cross that line and go from dictator to the next Fire Lord Ozai. Also I expect some secondary threat to push her and Korra into a more direct conflict or temporary alliance.
How is she not a bad guy? She's taking everything these people own in return for doing the job she was already paid to do. If she had just gone around liberating all the towns without forcing them to sign a one-sided contract and still wanted to be leader afterwards, she would've been fine.
>mfw Korra decides that Kuvira is the better option for Earth Fuhrer and kills Mako
Ghazan on one bowl of rice a day was ripped, so on a normal diet he'd be fucking insane
No, they are not, they're much better than fuc-
>bad genre name
wow you sure got me with that awesome bait
hack and slash
beat 'em up
cuhrazy (though that one is pretty stupid)
I prefer hack and slash
The last airbender: a show about ethnic cleansing, the evils of war, and the destruction of humanity for power. I swear i wish i could get the entire cast/crew of the show to remake it for an 18 year audience.
It's probably worth more than the Muramasa DLC for the sole fact that it's doesn't pla like Muramasa.
If you want a good 2D action adventure go buy Valdis Story: Abyssal City.
>Right now shes not a real bad guy
but it is being foreshadowed like fuck
>That said there is still plenty of room for her to cross that line and go from dictator to the next Fire Lord Ozai
which i think is going to happen.
i dont want her to be the antagonist cause shes doing the right thing, and korra herself doesnt know anything yet
and hopefully takes her side
at worst shes neutral right now. Her methods are questionable to down right dirty but its all been for a good agreeable cause. If we see that say shes been burning and looting towns that dont sign on then ya shes a bad guy but considering Bolin and his moral compass are still on board she must be at least within some kind of rational take it or leave it boundry. Besides it takes money to run an army and feed a country. There not just liberating towns they are establishing a military presence. And if she took over a town with a lot of food then took it away and spread it to the less fortunate towns would that be bad?
It might not be nice but its efficient and produces results
>want to play the Korra game when it comes out
>have no money
>still have to unlock everything in Smash, finish AZG, and finish the final 5% of Xenoblade
>and there's still Bayonetta 2 and Shantae and Alien Isolation
>A good cause she's been exploiting for her own benefit.
She's helping her people. How is that for her own benefit? Where was that even implied in the episode?
If it weren't for Kuvira, citizens of the Earth Kingdom would be slaving away in the mines getting rare ore for the kikes in Republic City. That bitch is a hero, man.
if to her own benefit you mean not handing over power to the guy who from minute one has been portrayed as nothing but a useless shmuck then ya
Id think most people would find not having their houses being looted repeatedly by roving gangs of bandits to be an agreeable cause
Ok so there are computer rpgs and light rpgs. Light rpg describes dragon quest and computer rpg describes baulders gate. That way you can call something made in the west a JRPG without calling it a JRPG.
Iv bean away from the keyboard for a bit so here are a few details for the ps3 version.
The game runs at 60 fps.
But the graphics are not that impressive but ok for a cartoon look.
There are unlockable alternative costumes.
You get one for finishing the game another for beating it on extreme and a another that you unlock using a secret code on the controller which i dont know.
The music is basically from the show.
No rules of nature i am afraid.
You're fucking stupid man. You really need to stick with simpler child's cartoons. In no way is what she is doing good. She extorted towns and forced them to bend their knees to her then gives them a lollipop afterwards for being good little servile plebians. She was given troops and supplies to liberate these towns but that wasn't enough, she took everything they had in exchange for supplies she was already given to help these people for free. Now we're hearing that "dissenters" are being sent to prison camps.
>She extorted towns and forced them to bend their knees to her then gives them a lollipop afterwards for being good little servile plebians.
>Now we're hearing that "dissenters" are being sent to prison camps.
You're just talking out of your ass and resorting to insults to strengthen your arguement. Faggit
>who wants every luxury for herself.
>Spending her own military funds to develop technology to both advance and protect the Earth Kingdom from outside influences
Only a eurofag ruled by a Monarch would side with RC
What piss me off about Amon is how the Equalist movement literally died the moment he was exposed as a bender, like all the fucking bandits and criminals in Avatar are fucking benders Also Korra is a shit character Nice tits toughts
Time to go full hermit mo-
>Haven't touched Xenoblade in ages
>At the part where you finally get to the sea above the tree
>Have a bunch of other vidya to finish up
>Also have Bayo 2 inbound
Why can't I stop coming here and actually play vidya?
that too is a beat em up, just like Muramasa or Dragon's Crown
2D or 3D doesn't matter
solely using fists is not a requirement for a game to be part of the beat em up genre
otherwise Turtles in Time wouldn't be a beat em up for example
They are CLEARLY two different kinds of games though. It's entirely possible for a developer to say "we are making a new beatemup game" then make a character action game and make everyone confused. Or someone to say "oh yeah I love beatem ups!" and then say they hate games like dmc.
between that and addressing the negative consequences of merging the spirit and human worlds this game seems to be cleaning up stuff the show ignored
I think in the true sense of the word.
Betemups are basically what games like Dynasty warriors are.
Or most modern retro stile ones.
usually not to complicated and can be played by anyone.
While character action games are more like DMC or NG or even GOW not made for everyone.
No, the problem was season one of Korra was supposed to be the entire show. While they were making it, Nick ordered 3 more seasons. So now they had this self contained story that wasn't supposed to keep going, and they had to write more. Which made the transition between 1 and 2 really rough.
I don't give a fuck about Korra, I'm only interested in this game because Platinum made it. Is it still worth a buy if you're not a fan?
They aren't though, games based off of DMC, polygonal action games broken up into locked rooms and rely on combo heavy moveset and command input based combat and most importantly a dynamic camera are not beatem ups.
If I had it my way I'd call them Bancho Likes.
top kek anon
kuvira is one dirty bitch
>polygonal action games broken up into locked rooms and rely on combo heavy moveset and command input based combat and most importantly a dynamic camera are not beatem ups.
the only valid point in that unnecessarily lengthy phrase is that DMC, Bayonetta and co are 3D which I already acknowledged. The rest applies to 2D beat em ups as well.
I used to have a really big gamerscore, believe me, the faster you change to PC, the better, is not even half as painful as you imaging
Also a clean slate means you don't have to care anymore about all of those games you never finished
No way, thats a fucking meal.
>paying for non-essentials
Well it certainly lacks the charm of the first series. I think the weakest part in comparison to the first is that korra's group dynamic is shit. Asami is basically Appa, and bolin is a shitty sokka. At least Mako hasn't been so bad since he stopped having relationship problems.
Just caught up with it last night. I thought season 3 was pretty damn good, though 2 was just horrible. So will we get best girl
Tophhanging around past another episode or two?
set between books 2 and 3
it turns out the merging the spirit unleashed an ancient enemy of the avatar who has been chilling in the spirit world the whole time
something like that
my steam slate isnt necessarily clean, I just never cared for achievements on steam to begin with, they are also relatively new too still. My completion rate on steam is 24% with over 200 games, 24% , if I couldnt hide it I am pretty sure I would struggle to sleep at night.
Asami's role for most of the previous seasons was to drive a car, provide air transportation through her company, or take 1 or 2 guys down with her shock glove. She was essentially unimportant otherwise. They writers really underutilized her character.
>but unless Korra's been riding her around off screen I don't see the comparison.
There's no other being capable of producing so much god-tier korra smut
Seeing as this is also a platinum thread.
How do I beat Sam in MGRR? I have have one nano paste as a back up for the fight too, should I go to a previous chapter and get more?
I'm fine in the beginning, but then I knock his sword away and he dodges everything, is there a way to break him out of this phase?
She's more of a communist dictator if I've ever seen one.
She pressures towns intoto pleading loyalty because she wants their resources (metal from their mines, for instance), but she does no cruelty to the people afterwards. In fact, people who used to be poor and starve are now safe and living well under her protection.
As far as we've seen, it's the villages leader's who are gonna suffer the most because of her, since they are stripped from their power and negotiation materials.
On the other side, the wannabe king would be absolute garbage. He can't even handle being criticized witout losing it. Under his protection, the Earth Kingdom would be as shitty as it was with his mother as queen.
Given the options, Kuvira is obviously the best choice, but she's no goddess either. In the end both have their issues and people should find the least bad between them. Kinda like real life governments.
You still face people to talk or listen to them, i'm pretty sure.
Did people really miss the actual guy?
the A team was working on bayonetta and the B team is probably working on scalebound, this is clearly C team
not to mention its just a tie in for the new season, it's not supposed to be any better than that
just because you want it to doesn't mean it will
I'm surprised by how much range there is on the water attacks
Gotcha, and once you combo him he goes back to the previous phase? My problem is, as soon as I block him he back away when he's stunned, should I use the staff because it has longer reach?
I kicked his ass with the machete the first time so just do what works for you. The only annoying part of the fight is when he's unarmed, he's piss easy when he picks up his sword again.
Isn't that by the guys who did the gba dbz games?
exactly, i've been trying to figure out how to knock him back into using his blade, i just need to combo him after he blocks, i'm going to go into a previous chapter (and beat my time) and collect some extra nano paste just in ask.
>Diablo is an ARPG
Moba-era baby, go play your ASSFAGGOTS
Im having similar feels to this.
I tested this game and was able to beat it in one sitting in less than 8 hours while also doing my job.
Granted I'm really good at these kinds of games and it's comparatively easy once you get the hang of it, but it's still REALLY SHORT.
I didn't try it on hard though. I'll tell you what I think:
-Gameplay is simple but fun.
-Bending styles actually have quite different playstyles.
-Plenty of cute flavor.
-First part is pure punchan, which for some reason was fun as fuck.
-Gets repetitive after a while.
-You don't really have enough time on normal mode to max out all the bending styles, so you end up with one that's really good and the rest aren't as high level.
-Waterbending feels gimped, but that could have just been me.
It's also not the easiest thing ever, to my immense surprise. You fight a lot of these bending cartel dudes and they are hard as FUCK, especially in the beginning. There's one fight in particular at the air temple right after you unlock waterbending where you go against three of them at once and it will kick your ass.
Anyway it's fun but not the greatest game ever, I give it a 6.5/10, pretty much exactly what I expected.
>Dont expect something on the level of bayo or mgr
those two games are so far away as gameplay depth goes its not funny
>basically a slightly simplified MGR
that would be very sad
Oh also I should mention that the pro-bending bits are actually not terrible. The ones in the campaign are kind of annoying since you're never with teammates but it does end up getting better, and there's a mode where you can just play it in a tournament style thing where your team isn't bad at all so it's actually kind of
Is this next to the Doug button?
>end up with one really good and the rest arent as high level
well i guess thats kind of accurate, i mean most Avatars are more proficient with their native element than the others, although this game basically lets you choose which one that is
>tfw ryona fetish
>play Tomb Raider reboot
There's a serious lack of good ryona in so many games. I hope the second one is just as good
fuck you I liked it
>shitting on ATLA/TLOK ever
Kill yourself anon
You play as Korra and go in probending matches.
From what i understand probending is just a more simplified version of the normal combat.
You're locked in waterbending and you can't do the cool moves like the Ice Shards
Isn't the director for this game someone who hasn't made a single good game but is somehow still employed?
>mfw This game will unlock in approximately 15 hours
I guess that gives me time to finish S2 at least
Nah, it's different. You're locked into ranged attacks but everybody uses ranged attacks. You can mix up weak or strong attacks, blocks or dodges, and you win if you knock your enemies off.
It's kind of annoying that your team moves up when you push the enemies back. From my experienced it seemed better just to knock the enemies off one by one rather than pushing the team back.
Don't do it anon. Its garbage.
They turn into giant robots and punch each other and Deus Ex Jinora fixes everything and even the writers don't know what she did.
Season 3 is like a different show better. Like the jump from Season 1 to Season 2 of Parks and Rec better.
The director is Eiro Shirahama.

Hmm, I wonder who could be behind this post.
It was a bad office ripoff with a female Michael Scott.
Do you really think that Michael Scott is unique and nobody can't be similar? A lot of people are like him and identify with the character, that's why everybody loves MS. Leslie is similar to MS because she's socially clumsy, and that's it, the big difference between MS and Leslie is she's very professional.
Sure, but making a show with the express intent of imitating a superior show and ending up inferior in every regard doesn't make for interesting and unique tv. Why watch season 1 when I can just watch the office and get a provably superior product? Season 2+ are undoubtedly better because they stopped copying and started creating.
I haven't been this excited to play a fictional sport in a video game since quidditch world cup.
So /v/, I've never cared for avatar, not because I hate it, but because I never got around to watch it.
I love action games, and I love Platinum, this looks pretty tempting for the price, and as a potential jumping point into the series.
All the exposure I've had with the series is watching the final fight between the first main character and some lava dude, and it looked pretty sweet. So what's good, should I get it?
