Dark Souls 2 was more varied, I enjoyed seeing a lot of different things more than the theme park level design of Dark Souls. World interconnectivity is nice, but it made the area feel small as a result. Ultimately the only great areas, to me, were Ash Lake, Anor Londo and the 4 Kings arena. Meanwhile Drangleic Castle, Dragon's Aerie, Throne of Want, the entirety of Iron King and Ivory King were fantastic.
