Just got fired from my job as a graphics artist from valve. I was on the Half Life 3 team.
Ask me anything.
I don't really have any proof that I worked there, because they took my badge when they fired me. Take what I say as you will
Just saying you were fired is a lot of information to get to your identity.
Either you won't mention any information that will jeopardize you and bring you to a lawsuit or, more likely, you're a big liar.
Then again if you were fired give us proof you worked for them?
There are a million ways to prove you were at Valve. You could at least offer something.
OP is some kid who wants to roleplay for an hour. Respond if you want, just don't be gullible enough to believe this.
Lots of cream, no sugar
I'd rather not say
We are supprisngly far into development. Hoping to shoot for a 2017-2018 release date. With an announcement in 2015. Honestly the story was kind of writen as the game progresseed in development. Taking so long due to having to switch engines
twiceand gabe thinking its a good idea to wait it out to build up hype
I was in charge of quite a few of the enemies and level designs. The bullsquid will be returning as a regular enemy among other hl1 creatures.
Time warner. Gonna get rid of it soon though
a football team
Honestly it wasn't to bad. Valve is almost always hiring and as long as you went to a good college you should be fine.
As I said, if you don't wish to belive me, then don't
It's amazing that I still have paystubs from when I worked at Best Buy when I was 16 and you don't have anything to commemorate working for one of the biggest and most influential video game companies on one of the most influential and hyped games of all time
Funny how that works
What compels faggots like you to masquerade as someone or something you're obviously not? And how come faggots like you will never go and stay fucking go?
Yeah yeah, that's 2 questions, hurrrr. Whatever, cuntflap.
>Anon claims to had worked on LITERALLY WHO
>Wants to know what he thinks about LIERALLY WHO
LITERALLY WHO truly is better than this place, have fun with the SJeW's taking over /v/ MALSTOV
Yea that is funny.
Gabe actually has way more influence then a lot of people assume
I think what made HL2 so influential was the source engine. This time around, source 2 won't launch with HL3, so the influence won't be as obvious. I think its there though.
See above. Shooting for 2017 or early 2018
There will be huge influences by portal on the Borealis levels. Not to the point of finding a portal gun, as some people hoped, but things like finding scrapped portal tech and even a couple unplayable test chambers that found their way onto the ship.
Pretty much as soon as we decided that game "episodes" were a bad idea. Even from the start, we knew this was going to be a full game, unlike episode 1 and 2, but it just wasn't until we scrapped the episode idea until we settled with "Half Life 3"
More then likely. That is kind of hard to say because there were talks of letting another company make a sort of sequel to Opposing Force. Just talk though. We never really got farther then that.
You get to walk through them, but without actually testing anything. You can see a couple others while looking through windows and such
Why are you in this thread if you didn't plan on believing me?
After working in the industry, I can understand why OP would not want to show anything possibly identifying himself. He'd get smacked with a lawsuit quicker than shit if he provides them evidence.
Everybody go home. Stop giving this idiot attention.
As I said earlier, we changed the engine 2 different times. Other then that it was just all hype buildup and some of the higher ups wanting to show the game in an almost finished state when it was finally revealed
Is it trues that there's a button in Gaben's office that restarts the whole process everytime someone leaks a date or info like you? If you are not lying does this mean Gaben pulled the plug and production started all over again?
Is there a Blue Shift 2 / Opposing Force 2 ? [/spoiler}
I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't doubt it.
I think as long as no solid evidence is posted, what I say here shouldn't really matter.
As I said earlier, an Opposing Force 2 was talked about, but it didn't get any farther then that yet.
What does Gabe think about HL? I mean does he have affection for it , like his child or is fucking tired of every single person on the world expecting just one thing from him and most of the time discarding everything else he does?
Well hello inconsistency
>I think what made HL2 so influential was the source engine. This time around, source 2 won't launch with HL3, so the influence won't be as obvious.
>Source, Source 2, and then we totally scrapped Source 2 and rebuilt it from the ground up.
>says it's on Source 2 then a few posts later says it won't
It's fake guys. Time to pack up and go.
Multi-universal force that is pretty much able to take over any world they please. I may be exaggerating a tad, but thats kinda what they are supposed to be. If you are looking for a more literal answer, then they are aliens who are able to change their appearance to help them adapt to certain planets
When I see him talking about it, he seems to be pretty happy with it. I'm sure hes a bit sick of it though. I would be.
source 2 was made twice. HL3 won't launch with the newer source 2, but it will be on it.
Honestly, not much. It does feel like the "next step" in gaming, but its kinda tough to see why. Everything about it has an intense "next gen" feel. More then any game I have seen released sense the new consoles came out.
As said before, we had to rebuild it from the ground up.
>hey guys, i was a graphic artist for one of the biggest video game companies, working on probably the most anticipated game ever, and the best i can do is some bullshit in MS paint. I don't own a tablet, my mouse skills are balls, and you totally should believe me
>people STILL responding with serious questions
makes sense why this board is so garbage, you children will believe anything.
I wasn't one of the people working on it, but from what I understand everyone was just generally unhappy with it and realized it could have been much better then it was. What I had saw of it was very underwhelming
We arn't. Thats the new source 2 engine. The first one was only being worked on for a little while and was far before source 2 was even talked about to a serious degree
Half Life 3. Possibly. I mean, who said an arch has to start and end with stasis?
Do you have any specific details at all you could show us that would even slightly support your claim to have worked at Valve? Even a photo of you at Valve with the face blacked out?
Well , half life's end , and HL2 beggining made it pretty clear that the end and started was marked when Gordon fell into stasis , and got woken up by the G-man
By the way : Will we get to know more about G-man? About his employers?
>aliens who are able to change their appearance
Lel, combine don't change appearance, they enslave local races who then become part of the combine.
Best guess is that the advisors are the real/original combine race. If not that, then they are the current head honchos for all operations.
Starts with a G-man monologue and picks up on the helicopter at the end of Episode 2.
Honestly a lot of stuff about the Gman is pretty much left open for interperation. His "employers" are shown as black figures and its IMPLIED at points that he is a future Gordon. Very subtly implied.
Yes. Left for dead 3 and a remake of Left for dead 2
I was more refering to the Combine Soldiers. The advisors are static in appearance I suppose.
For testing portal technology, silly
>We arn't. Thats the new source 2 engine
inconsistency with your earlier post where you said that Source 2 was rebuilt from ground up
in case you missed it out, dota 2 was SOFT-ported to Source 2, the same way HL2 was soft-ported to Orange Box branch of engine
if engine was built from ground up, they would change a lot more than what we saw in dota 2
>no proof of employment
bullshit. post a goddamn w2 with sensitive info blacked out.
it's one thing to refuse posting proof that could jeopardize your anonymity in any way, but no sane person would refuse to post ANY sort of proof as to who they are, just for the fuck of it. There are a million things you could do to help justify the fact that you are who you say you are, one of the easy ones being drawing, or showing an email from Gabe or some shit. You could take a screenshot of an email, Linkedin profile, or a folder of low quality rejected concept art. Stop role playing, or at least take that shit back to /x/ fag. Or at least conjure up some convincing fake evidence. It's one thing to roleplay, but you're roleplaying badly.
0/10 anyone who fuels his roleplaying is an idort child and should leave /v/ until they're 18
confirmed for not knowing how the fuck source engine works, if it was build from ground up, it would have a gap similar to GoldSRC and Source, you can soft-port a fucking game between two completely different engines, Dota 2 atm works on its own custom Source 2, you know, slightly modified Source engine that we could already see in action when messing around with fucking Alien Swarm when it came out
probably not, but you can check features yourself in dota 2 authoring tools, many new features are noticeable straight away, such as better hammer editor, 9/10 bsp tools, metric units, and much bigger limits on map sizes and few other things
There are quite a few settings. Most of which I am very excited about. Very short segment in City 17, Xen, short segments in other "cities" such as City 12, The Borealis, and an abandoned Black Mesa in ruins.
>not a fucking crater in the ground
in case you forgot, during HL1 whole place is falling apart, there are army bombings, there are ALIUMS everywhere, and then there is a NUKE going off in facility, so I seriously fucking doubt there is anything there
there is absolutely no reason to get back to city 17 and we see it being fucked completely in ep1 and 2, so no
also, black mesa is in USA, City 17 is somewhere in eastern europe, or old commie block in general, again, no fucking reason to go back to a fucking crater somewhere in usa
If you are really from valve then bullet point all the levels you worked on, what happens in them and what happens in the story.
You are forgetting that 90 percent of Black Mesa is underground.
I didn't write the game, I just drew the pictures.
City 17s location is never revealed. And even if it was, traveling long distances is something that shouldn't really come as a shock. Especially sense a main aspect of the game is portals
>90% of black mesa is underground
so is the nuke
so are many explosives in the facility
oh and in case you were blind when playing it, didnt you notice that there is not that much shit on lower levels?
>City 17s location is never revealed.
you claim that you have worked as an artist there and you dont know shit about one of locations? you know, a fucked up place that would need concept art? oh and if there is anything left in that city, its probably dead, there is absolutely no reason to return there
and dont go with this portal bullshit, even if gordon gets to borealis to get some tech to teleport somewhere, it will be a one-way trip, so teleporting to a place like black mesa or c17 means he aint coming back from there with a teleporter, last time we have seen these, they are not exactly portable
This. And can you confirm any of this?
From what I have seen, it actually won't have support at initial launch. If it does, I would expect there to be a choice to play the "modded" version when you start up the game. A version that supports Workshop stuff.
I know. Thats why I'm not revealing anything about myself. People don't realize its best if I am as cautious as possible
70 last time i was at the gym.
long time ago
Seriously, I don't write the game, I just draw the pictures
I know nothing about TF3. Half life 3 will definitely NOT be a crossover game. But yes, it absolutely was a pleasure to work at valve
Ill put it it spoilers just for you, bb.
Basic rundown: Rid the world of the combine. Most of the world is still in ruins yet livable. The world starts to get repopulated to an extent kinda like the ending of walle sorta. Final Gman monologue ending with him putting Gordon into stasis
implying any reputable artist in the games industry calls it "drawing pictures".
What art assets do you actually make? Art roles at Valve are pretty involved. Not to mention you usually need to know programming on top of it.
