>TFW your main isn't ranked high, yet you continue to wreck online.
>tfw you posted this stupid Eventhubs "tier list" again
THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO TRUST EVENTHUBS TO NOT BE MADE OF RETARDS
THEY STILL THINK WESKER IS THE BEST CHARCTER IN UMVC3 OVER THERE
HOW COULD YOU REPOST THEIR TIER LIST AS THOUGH IT HAD ANY MERIT
>tfw maining lucina, ninja frog and link
>land ganon's up tilt on someone who's shielding
>mfw i throw out another up tilt and there's nothing they can do
before you say the move is so easy to see coming, it's also very deceptive at how big the explosion is. Catches so many people off
Well, let's see where my old Brawl mains are...
>Ike C tier
>Lucas isn't even in the game
W-well, I'll play as Megaman, I-I like Megaman
>Megaman below Ike
Well fuck your shitty party game Samurai.
I'm expecting 500 posts of
>greentext stories involving anon stomping twelve year olds and casuals in For Glory mode with shit-tier characters like Ganondorf and Megaman and then smugly exclaiming that tier lists don't exist.
>people who don't understand how tier lists work
I think they're retarded for disqualifying the heavies so early, but they're right about Sonic. His spins are amazing for approach, combos/damage-racking, and pressuring shields. I dunno about S tier, but he's up there.
>earlier thread 404'd
>this thread will get 400+ post
These are public opinion rankings based on an open poll, someone from here made the image and letter rankings however, it isn't official.
Besides, none of this matters, play who you want, Ike and Megaman aren't Dee Jay or Dan, they're legitimate choices.
>nerf B-air's range and active frames
>DK falls apart
Damn. Not even the buffs to his other aerials help him enough.
Ganon gets torn apart by projectiles, has no good approach options, his moves are unsafe and easy to punish and he relies extremely heavily on hard reads on his opponents for damage.
Why would you make S+, S, and S- instead of just having it go from S to G?
B-but Zeldas actually good online
Regardless of how shit my opponents (mostly macs) have been
I think she actually has some potential, hope her lag is fixed by the wii u version so i can destroy people with the phantom without them being braindead
his dair is punishable on hit 100% of the time
making it techable makes it an unviable move against grounded foes if the player is good
it would be a large improvement if it were not techable
also custom moves are irrelevant, the falling side B is a god tier custom move though
It's WAY too early for a tier list, it's barely even been a month
Should wait 3-6 months before the first tier list is developed to give time for some sort of meta game to form
I have a question, why would I buy this game when they call a character by the name of their game and not by the actual name of the character? We don't call Luigi "Luigi's Mansion", so why do they call the Duck Hunt dog "Duck Hunt"?
That's fucking gay and I'm not buying the game. Case closed.
mfw I love playing DK and they do this
>having a tier list for the most casual smash since brawl
Why even bother?
It's hardly competitive
it's a fake list. The real first list won't be like that. It's impossible for 1/5 of the cast to be S tier in principle
His moves aren't NEARLY as unsafe anymore. F-tilt can't be punished when spaced, not to mention the reward for actually landing a hit is even higher than before. His gimps are top 5 in this game.
On a side note, I managed to land a faux Ken-combo on Marth as Zard today. Was fun.
>marth near the top of S- tier
>marth with the range of wielding a pencil in S- tier
>the obviously good characters are at the top
>the obviously bad characters are at the bottom
>NO THIS IS A LIE MY FAVORITE CAN'T BE LOW TIER NOOOO
Duck Hunt is the best name for it because the character itself incorporates a bunch of elements from duck hunt. Nearly all of the attacks involve either the duck, the dog, or the unseen gunman (the player), so it's like playing a game of duck hunt.
>there he goes
>there he goes again
>he posted it once again
How do I deal with other projectile characters as robin? Samus wrecks me but I can beat SS so problem. Rob is another one I have problems with but depending on the player I can beat them or they utterly wreck me
>Because you play as the dob
Look at this fucking idiot everyone. He can't even spell the word "dog" because he's so mad. Have I literally shattered everything you stand for right before your very eyes little man? Does this matter so fucking much to you? The fact that someone expressed a tiny little bit of discontent for a STUPID CHARACTER NAME? ARE YOU THAT MUCH OF AN EMOTIONAL FUCKING TRAINWRECK THAT YOU CAN'T HANDLE THAT?
Holy fucking shit get a life, I'd give your bait a 2/10, it didn't even make me mad and then you proceed to call me a "colossal faggot" just because you can't come up with a valid rebuttal.
ALSO, TAKE NOTES EVERYBODY, THESE ARE THE KIND OF FAGGOTS WHO THINK IT'S OK TO CALL HIM "DUCK HUNT" AND WHO THINK IT'S OK TO CALL LUIGI "LUIGI'S MANSION"!
How do I git gud with Samus? I wanna show that blonde bimbo who's the boss.
>when you get kills sub-80% with run-off-ledge F-air
>when you kill off the top with Fly
>when you disrespect the fuck out of a Link/DHD/Palentua/campy Robin with Flare Blitz
Is each and every single one of you faggots linking these videos incapable of including a timestamp pointing to the point of the video I'm supposed to watch in your links?
Gonna list off the nerfs DK received to help explain his position.
Neutral B takes longer to charge
Neutral B has less range
Neutral B has a longer recovery
Up B has a longer landing lag
Up B lost invincibility
Up B lost its 2 frame startup hitbox behind his head
Side B no longer does anything to opponents hit in the air (used to spike)
Side B no longer stalls air momentum
Down B no longer reaches far enough behind DK to punish dodgerolls on certain characters(it hits more infront now)
Down tilt range was reduced
Forward Smash has a deadzone on his chest
Uptilt has a deadzone on his chest
Fair + Dair recovery is longer than most characters' tech recovery(making the moves punishable on a hit)
Dash attack is garbage
GRAB RANGE WAS REDUCED TO 1/4 OF THE ORIGINAL SIZE
Grab down throw can't be used to tech chase
Cargo Up can't be followed up from
Back air trajectory was made worse
Theres a new down b in air that can be used to style
new side b improved his ledge game in a game where ledge guarding doesn't exist (outside of shiek)
Dair is faster
DK has a lot more confidence and spends more time flexing mid animations
>Writing a paragraph for a typo
Sure fag, I'm the one who's mad
>DK has a lot more confidence and spends more time flexing mid animations
>in a game where ledge guarding doesn't exist
This is what I hate most about smash4
Its like theres barely even a point to going after the opponent if they decide to recover low
I might as well just sit in the middle of the stage and play myself and give my opponent a courtesy minute to pick themselves up
It really kills the momentum of the game in my opinion
Like other people have said, the eventhubs tier list (which this picture is based on) is an open poll where people can vote characters up or down freely. There's no expert opinion involved, it's just what a bunch of randoms happen to think.
If you actually play the game some of the inconsistencies in the list are ridiculous. Donkey Kong isn't amazing but he's not literally bottom-of-the-barrel garbage. Certainly not worse than Ganondorf. ROB is certainly not that low and Shulk is probably not that high.
It's not completely inaccurate but people spout every new tier list as gospel anyway.
Up B gained 1 hit of armor throughout entire ground animation until last hit, so that Up-B "nerf" is invalidated.
The system mechanics love him, he has Mario-tier combos.
He ain't good, but he's still in that lower-mid tier alcove he's been in since forever.
Clearly you're playing the wrong character for the job then. I get easy off-stage edgeguards with Ganon, Zard, and Luigi. Edgeguarding just isn't Falco's strong point, since all his aerials are either multi-hit or upwards-launching.
No matter how dumb the tier list /v/ will fight over it without even asking for a source. It's fucking 2008 all over again.
We've already had a 500 post thread on this thing and will have more to come. God have mercy on us all.
New grounded animation is still much worse and has a lot more recovery/startup than before. His Up B is by far a worse move than it was before.
I would also disagree and say Mario has much better combos than DK. Especially more so with his grab game being as gutted as it currently is. If you could list some combos it'd be greatly appreciated
Being able to ledge guard is a blessing given to a select few characters. Which is annoying.
How are tiers generally decided in fighting games?
Say what you will about Smogon, but their tier list for pokemon is interesting in that it's based on hard numbers: how much a particular pokemon is used on teams. This doesn't correspond to a pokemon's strength, but it's a fairly objective way to measure things.
Aerial movement in Smash 4 is dog shit. It's slow, restricted and has an assload of lag on landing. I regularly see people who get knocked in the air from mid-stage, then float over and grab the fucking ledge because it's the only reasonably safe way to get back on the stage.
You almost never want to jump if your opponent is on the ground, because it gives them a huge advantage over you. This also makes it way harder to deal with projectile spammers.
Off of U-tilt or an unteched F-air spike or Cargo U-throw, you can get 3 or more U-airs in a row, more if your opponent doesn't double jump after.
I've also had B-air go into fast-fall U-air as well as into N-air.
Although they're not as long as Mario's they do a fair number of hits with huge damage output. Keep in mind DK can KO at ~110% with many of his kill options.
>DK in E
Why did you do this to me Sakurai?
Generally pro players each have their own tier lists based on impressions. After awhile they usually mesh into a large agreed upon list. I know in street fighter they go by hard numbers. Pic related is and old one done by matchups.
Use missiles and keep her power beam charged
Air dodge and shit
Bombs can hop you over attacks and stun others
Something something about knocking them up and spiking them with her screw attack
Dash attack a lot
Free dodges when charging if you tap in the other direction
and you can fire at them
I'm the only Wario I've ever seen online, and no one seems to know that you can't attempt a smash or a dash attack when I've got a charged fart. Either the Wario Waft is WAY better now than it was in Brawl, or the playerbase is dumber. I'm hitting way to much with this shit.
>like the character of metaknight
>enjoyed his design in brawl but agreed he was much too strong
>pick up smash4
>he is very noticeably weaker with no flight and less spammability
>notice something off about his moves
>go into a training
Sakurai? What the fuck is this
Usually based on character potential; stuff like frame data, matchups, character tech, etc. The reason that they change is because often tournies or new techs increase a character's known potential or bring light to something. The real arguments come from how do you place a value on certain things, but often that is explained in matchups
>Be Yoshi main
>finally gets to be high tier
Feels good man
Thanks for the ledge tip, I've been having a lot of problems making it back to the ground safely. I pretty much have to nail a perfect airdodge or they fuck me. This should be interesting to try out.
Thats character specific. It's not guaranteed to get multiple upairs off of a cargo throw up. U-tilt does indeed lead to u-air in most scenarios but thats not exactly a "combo game". DK's current "combo game" is a complete disappointment compared to what it was in melee/brawl/pm/64. Also Up B went from being godlike to very sub pair real quick.
Heres a video example showing some of the silly stuff you could do with his up B.
It was possible to abuse the invincibility and just roll right up to people while untouchable. It was technically possible on every stage though much harder to pull off. Yoshi's was the easiest due to the slope. Some people claimed DK's Up B was second best Up B in brawl as a whole. Only issue is that it was attached to DK.
Now its one of his worst moves and one of the worst Up Bs in the game
I know it's fun to act superior and say "lol it's so early this tier list sucks there is no WAY that [character] could be that low" but seriously stop being idiots.
This isn't a completely new game, it's smash bros. We've played smash bros before, we know how it works. The game still has the same objective as the other ones: hit the opponent off the edge. We have enough knowledge of how smash games work, and enough pros who actually know what their talking about to create a base tier list that will develop. Obviously this isn't set in stone, but's it's definitely correct. It's just plain and simple "this character performs better in this Smash environment then this character." Maybe later there will be undiscovered techniques other characters have to help them get higher on the list, but just accept that some characters are just initially worse compared to some characters.
The roster this time around is actually looking to be really fucking interesting and fairly balanced compared to previous iterations considering how many characters are considered S (which I hole heartedly agree with, a lot of them are really good and deserve to be on top). Link being that high is awesome, and Bowser and Captain falcon being high is hype as fuck.
Also, if you're feeling down, or even emotionally defensive that your main is low tier, don't be. That means you kick ass with a low tier character. Remember, if you pick your character based on a tier list that you are a faggot. Pick your favourite character, whether is be Ganon or ZSS.
Please Jesus tell me this is a fucking joke.
Who wants mommy putting her hand on their shoulder when they're trying to play a video game? No wonder this DICKHEAD couldn't get past the first stage. AND WHAT'S THE STUPID LITTLE NIGGER DOING? JUMPING BACKWARDS IN TO THE AIR, SMALL MARIO, DIDN'T EVEN GET THE MUSHROOM, DIDN'T EVEN GET THE FIREFLOWER (or alternatively he got them, but got HIT by a GOOMBA - let me repeat that - HIT - BY A GOOMBA - HIT, BY AN ENEMY THAT SLOWLY MOVES ACROSS THE GROUND) DIDN'T EVEN GO IN THE PIPE TO TAKE THE SHORTCUT, HE'S PROBABLY GONNA FALL DOWN THAT HOLE, PROBABLY NOT GONNA GET THE STAR WHEN HE RESPAWNS, SITTING THERE "SMILING" WITH MOMMY'S HAND ON HIS SHOULDER, ACTING LIKE HE'S ALL "HAPPY" OR SOMETHING. YOU CAN LITERALLY NOT BE DOING WORSE AT THIS GAME THAN WHAT YOU SEE RIGHT THERE ON THE SCREEN. LET ME ASSURE YOU, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SMILE ABOUT.
But you know what the worst part about it is? The part that's going to scar me and keep me awake at night for years to come?
That dumb little PRICK, ACTING LIKE HE'S PART OF THE WHOLE CHARADE. Look at him. Not a care in the world. Won't even give his OWN BROTHER a little bit of constructive criticism on how to play the game better. I guess he's the type of person who would see someone dangling off a cliff and not feel any obligation to help them up. Sitting there with a controller in his hand; as if he's doing something.
And you know what else? Why has this sorry excuse for a man, this self-proclaimed "father" of these children allowed this SCORPION WOMAN to OVERRUN THIS POOR FAMILY? THERE'S NO LEADERSHIP HERE, THAT'S THE PROBLEM! That's why SHIT LIKE THIS IS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN EVERYONE. TAKE NOTES. FUCKING MATRIARCHY BULLSHIT. THIS MAN NEEDS TO WAKE THE FUCK UP AND PUT HIS FOOT DOWN, SOCK THAT LITTLE FUCKER RIGHT IN THE FACE, GRAB THAT CONTROLLER AND SHOW HIM THIS IS HOW YOU PLAY THE GOD DAMN GAME SON, THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT. THIS IS HOW YOU SUCCEED IN THE WORLD.
bait or you must not have very good understanding on how smash bros works.
>was planning on maining Rosalina and ZSS as soon as they were announced
Holy shit I thought something was up with my forward smashes and back airs
Its like a few of MK's only kill moves and I SAW my sword go right through people
WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A SWORD SWING WITH NO HITBOX
I saw how strong his forward smash was and I was thinking "oh this is probably gonna be an okay kill move"
Soon I realized Metaknight literally has to be going down on someone for that shit to hit
You're not playing as the dog, you're playing Duck Hunt. Notice how his smash attacks are the player (you) shooting at him, that's why he freaks out. You are playing Duck Hunt.
>tfw when I've been wrecking shit as Ganondorf and DK for days without knowing they're supposed to be shit
Is Rosalina actually good though? Everyone I've fought who used her has just played like a homo and used the same move over and over.
It's so deceptive though
I think he is still a decent character and I play him a lot
However you should be prepared to be salty whenever a very obvious forward smash goes right through them with no damage
The dog is only part of the fighter.
And as a side note what did you want him to be called, the dog has no established name.
Would it be better if the character was called "Dog"?
>mfw trying to unlock all these customs
sma4h pls i don't want all these damn trophies
Rosalina is a character that's going to start strong and lose power over time as people figure her out.
Right now people are fucking retarded and dont realize how easy it actually is to constantly knock Luma off the stage
My biggest disappointment is probably megaman's placing. He needs better ground normals. His Jab, F-Tilt and N-Air being pellets really harms him, meaning his ground game relies on a bunch of moves that are either unsafe on block or have landing lag. As much as I love short hop F-Air, it's hitbox aint as big as the effect, and he doesnt have the tools to work at close range.
Why is Duck Hunt so low.
He has lots of potential and set ups.
It took 15 years, but Rosalina is finally top tier!
>run into another wario bro
>proceed to play about 30 matches
>skill level relatively the same, wins going back and forth
>will likely never play with them again
what a cruel world we live in
thanks for the games if youre out there, it was fun.
Because eventscrubs never tried him.
He should be B-, his spacing game is weak with N-air and D-tilt being his best pokes, but he's got enough going for him that he ought to evade bottom tier. Namely, his god-tier gimps and Flare Blitz.
I'm really liking Shulk, I just wish his D-Air was a little faster. I tend to focus on Buster and Smash with monado arts.
I'm pretty disappointed with Megaman in general. He was the character I was most excited to play as, but I don't find him fun. I guess he just doesn't suit my playstyle, I've been having more fun as fucking DK and Ganon for chrissakes.
Actually Sheik was #1 for the first few years, tiers are primarily based off of matchups and character potential and for the most part they don't mean jack shit for casual play so I don't see why /v/ keeps complaining about them.
I'm predicting he'll start dropping back to low tier soon. Flowchart Ness' are becoming fairly common and the shitty recovery and range issues are present as ever. We've lost the Ness Stomp this time, too.
>This isn't a completely new game, it's smash bros. We've played smash bros before, we know how it works. The game still has the same objective as the other ones: hit the opponent off the edge. We have enough knowledge of how smash games work, and enough pros who actually know what their talking about to create a base tier list that will develop.
While I don't agree that this tier list is useful at all, even as a ballpark, I wish people had this mentality of understanding for starcraft 2.
People assumed that game was going to evolve as much as brood war as players learned. When infact players knew 80% of what they needed to out of beta and it got stale as fuck.
Monado Jump makes his recovery god-tier, sometimes worth switching to off-stage. Monado Shield is good for getting some damage on an enemy before being KO'd if Shulk is at high %. Don't really know what Monado Speed is used for.
There were smaller differences in the specials too.
PK Thunder phased through enemies instead of hitting in a burst.
PK Fire didn't linger, just one burst back
PSI Magnet was held forward instead of centered on him
PK Freeze, obviously
>TFW my main is ranked S+ but I've been playing her since melee, and before I even knew what tiers were
>TFW it's time to generate some salt
Probably, but for now I'm going to enjoy Ness being high tier after years of being low tier.
>People who play lightning-quick agile characters and jack off all over the stage since they know they can't be punished.
>People who play camping characters, spamming projectiles from one side of the stage then running away when you get close.
>People who play keepaway to run out the clock before you can kill them, ensuring they either win the match or force it into sudden death.
>People who play Rosalina.
>The game enables and even encourages these players because approach options are so limited while defensive options are strong as fuck.
My main strategy that's been killing it lately has been to get the enemy in the air and let loose with well timed up-aerials, keeping harassment and pressure up with occasional specials and the Yoyo if in range. The backwards throw is a solid killmove, as is the baseball bat if the opportunity arises, but the up-aerial is where most of my enemies meet their end.
And dodging. Lots and lots of dodging, obviously.
Once people get better controls and can use C-sticks for aerial mobility and attacking this tier list is bound to shift. It'll shift even before then but the WiiU version gonna mix it all around.
>mfw I literally cannot do a forward jump Bair
I can definitely see Wii Fit Trainer being that low. Why is she so fucking shit? She feels so goddamn narrow and messy, and those 2 specials that take eons to charge.
I still think Diddy and R.O.B. should be a tad higher. Zelda too. They have so much potential. Palutena is objectively shit.
>all of my favorites are in S through B.
I mean, I wouldn't have taken too much stock in this chart anyway, but that's nice.
Not to mention that they don't go screaming down at Mach 5 anymore. When I heard stage spiking was ramped up I got really excited for dribbling people like a basketball, but I guess I won't get that fix with Ness.
I don't even like playing as him, but even I know he shouldn't be in the absolute worst tier.
>Follow up tfw my second main is in E tier (the dorf) and I don't give a flying fuck and will still play him anyway.
problem is that custom moves aren't exactly anything for the sake of balance
A local scene likely won't wait for you to unlock and set up your custom moves and they're unusable online unless you're playing friends
Hence Miis not being on the list
>my main is S tier again
BLESS YOU SOCCER GUY
Some tier lists only go to B. It's a matter of how viable shit is. S+ has a clear advantage but S and S- have close to negligible differences in options.
The list is fake though so whatever.
>Bowser Jr and a little Sonic
>mfw 77% win rate
The best feel.
Sheik main since Melee.
>tfw shitty campus Internet and can't play online at all
>what makes peach so high tier?
The same reason as anything else on this list, it's all pulled from someone's ass.
You need months and months of tournament play to even get a decent idea of what the tier list will eventually evolve into.
And even then it's never going to mean anything for playing online against pugs.
Exactly. This isn't a new game, it's the same game we've played for years but a little different. When professional players and such have been playing other smash games for years, you think they would probably know what works and what doesn't.
Why would i pick one of those circus clowns when i can be the prince of all Koopas?
The pace of the game and how much the game rewards defensive or offensive play depends a lot on the characters being played. Sheik, Captain falcon, and a few others invoke very melee-like pace and gameplay, while Rosalina, Robin, etc. are more brawl-like. But it's never as slow and defensive as brawl and never as hyperactive and offensive as melee. Unless it's diddy ditto, then it's both as once.
Why is my main all the way at the bottom...I win quite a bit
Diddy is a fucking nightmare.
>Sheik, Peach, Fox, Marth, and Captain Falcon are all S tier again
>Falco is B tier
>Samus in A
She really does alternate between being shit and good, doesn't she? I'm glad with her for now, but dread the next Smash.
>the outcome of a bunch of CPU battles somehow determines how good a character is when played by actual people
Why are fightan game fans so fucking retarded?
Diddy kong is the reason I can't stand the donkey kong franchise. Shit monkey with a shit design and way too fucking good. Fuck him, I hope donkey kong never, ever gets another rep.
All of her moves are generally stronger, including peach bomber. Her turnip pulling now has stupid lag but there's a canceling trick to get them out like in previous games. Meanwhile Zelda's excellent air moves got nerfed.
>mfw winning sudden death with taunt smash
He's very strong offensively and defensively. His weaknesses are tiny compared to his advantages. He can combo very, very effectively and camp pretty well with bananas and nuts. He's just good and really hard to get momentum against.
we never saw how that samus played
with how slow she is now it feels like she was meant to be a power character like ganon and just plain isnt, has neither the knockback or damage per hit on most of her moves to kill at low enough percents
>haven't even played Smash 3DS yet
>always played Sheik in Melee/Brawl
>now going to get called a tier whore
>tfw no more deadliest warrior
I know the results were bullshit but the fights themselves were a ton of fun.
The winner of the Nintendo held 3DS tournament the other day was using Rosalina, so there is that.
>That feel when Murrican Mario lost
>mfw wrecking scrubby Macs, ZSS's and Sheiks as Charizard
Spotdodge it and smash behind you. The endlag on a miss on the Upperdash/Electrodash arms are tremendous on a whiff. If you don't think you can spotdodge it just roll into it when you're close to him. You can't punish that way but it'll go right through you.
It took me a few matches to figure it out but it doesn't ever connect against me anymore.
It's to be expected, although as a whole they're going to make counter-picking a lot more interesting.
It's not going to be as difficult as you think it's going to be. Everyone's going to flock to the wiiu for tourney play, and what will probably happen is that competitors will bring their 3DS with their character loadouts, and transfer it to the tourney wiiu.
That list is still very, very wrong
Also, check out the KoF13 tier list, where EX Kyo is a top tier character, Vice and chin aren't even high tier and various other blatantly retarded shit
Also 95% of the people who voted main King and Terry, so you know they're totally not bandwagoners who don't actually play the game
nathan! If you're here, thanks for the great matches. I know you wrecked my shit so hard, but still, it was fun. I hated the fact that I rolled fricken little mac in our last match though
Who does have the most annoying taunts now that Sonic's are gone anyway?
I just placed my order online, I hope it's still flavor of the month here by the time it arrives.
I'm a fucking Smash god (won something like $700 over a few college tourneys), 1 step below the pros, I'm hoping the online is competitive and tourneyfag friendly. Any issues I should know about beforehand?
Latency is very dependent on your personal connection. Lag is very rarely an issue, but some people just have shit connection and can't run away with it.
Final Destination only obviously favours particular characters, like little mac.
Because /v/ and most of everyone else thinks they are hardcore
>Ganondorf that low when he's clearly A-B material
But he is destroyed by any and all campers
Jump over one projectile, double jump the next and oops, you're still not close enough to side B them, and you're out of options
>Because /v/ and most of everyone else thinks they are hardcore
No, they hate people who are better than them and take pride in being raging casuals when it comes to Smash Bros.
No matter what Weegee is on top since he has a taunt that can kill, Palu fireworks gets an invuln frame, I think a few other people have special things about their taunts as well
he'll definitely climb but KO's are fucking hard aside from land mistakes and edge guard mistakes
he can't chase in the air for shit because half the cast has more float than jigglypuff now
Then what am I to do about campers
Only ever use it when I have to
You can jump over projectiles. Approaching in this game is really hard with him. Just get close but outside of grab range if its someone with a tether grab. If they keep shooting projectiles then hit them during the animation, you should be close enough by then. If they come at you shield and grab/hit. That or just use forward tilt to clang all of their projectiles and show them you aren't afraid.
>You can jump over projectiles
I jump over one, double jump over the next and whoops doopsy I am still half a stage a way, just far enough where my only other approach option wont reach
And staying close to fucks as Ganon is like telling a snail to keep up with a wasp.
Foward tilt thing might work though.
Also, never really had a problem with tethers, they always have to be close enough to use those where I can just dodgeroll, and then punch them
>350 matches on For Glory
>only two Mega Man players
that aren't me
>they still don't know how to use buster shots that well
One of the most basic things you can do with him is shoot twice (jab or ftilt) then jump right after the third shot. If they try to shieldgrab or are mashing jab like a faggot that's a free bair punish, and if they shield everything you can jump away safely anyway. It's literally free ground control.
Jump over more again when you're at halfway? THe only place they are going is off stage or roll past you if they don't attack. If you think they are going to roll don't jump as far forward use a tilt in the direction they are going it will catch them out of the roll. Ganon's feet are fucking long. His down and forward tilt are really powerful tools.
Is Captain Falcon actually a thing in the F-Zeros that came out after the original SNES one? I used to play SNES F-Zero all the time back in the day and didn't know who the fuck Captain Falcon even was when Smash 64 came out.
The Mute City level gives me way more nostalgiafeels than anything Captain Falcon related
Hey man, he killed his waifu, Shulk has all the reason to be mad.
In the end he only ends up killing one person, even though literally everyone tells him to kill them sons of bitches.
They always tend to fire the projectiles in such a way where I'm forced to land on them
Thanks for the advice though
>INB4 in the next smash he wields a dagger
It's really disgusting how hard The Hero King was hit with nerfs
>My boy Shulk is S-
I'm okay with this. Shulk certainly has the most versatility of any character, he's just a bitch to master.
>still not understanding how tiers work
Theoretically, almost the entire cast of a game could be in S tier if the MUs were balanced enough, assuming this tier list is based off of MUs.
S tiers are supposed to be reserved for a character or even maybe a couple characters that are so OP they are approaching broken. The point of the S tier is that they are so good they are off the usual A,B,C,D list, but of course smash shitters don't understand this and just plop the characters all into S tier.

I'm so saddened how Ike doesn't feel as satisfying as he used to.
>All four Aryan master race in S tiers
Our Lord and savior would be proud.
No, you just don't understand MUs. Let's look at a hypothetical situation where every character in a game has a 5:5 MU against every other character in the game, flat. If you make a tier list for this game, and base it on MUs, then every single character would be in the exact same tier as they're all evenly matched against each other.
Of course, this could never happen in any game without extremely astronomically low odds, but it's a hypothetical and why stuff like this can happen. I actually agree with so many characters being in the S tier in this tier list because so many characters in this game are good and seem to have favorable match-ups against a lot of other different characters.
Let's look at a game like Street Fighter, where most of the lists are based on MUs. As I said, if there was a similar hypothetical situation where every character in Street Fighter had a 5:5 MU, everyone would be in the same tier once again. You need to objectively measure tier lists in some form and MUs are the best way to do this; if you're not going off of MUs, what are you going off of?

I fucking love Kirby, he's my favorite vidya character, but if you play a Pink Puff you gotta respect your fellow Pink Puff.
S tier is reserved for meta defining characters that beat majority of the cast. It is impossible for it to be huge by its very definition. If the game was 100% balanced it wouldn't have tiers at all because they would be pointless
If you are going off on tier lists then if everyone was 5-5 everybody on the list would be about a B, A is reserved for people who have a good amount of match ups in their favor while S is reserved for people who shit on most of the cast save for a couple characters, C and B is for low to mid range characters low range characters being ones who have a couple bad match ups but overall are fine, B is for characters that are either equal in most match up's or their positive match ups cancel out their negative ones, and of course d means most of the cast shits on them
Yeah, you guys are right. Sorry. Wasn't thinking logically here. If anything though, the fundamental idea isn't flawed; most of the characters in this game are viable and the tier list should reflect that.

from playing online a shit ton, this is probably accurate as of right now.
if you decided to create a tier list for for glory specifically, this would be a whole other tier list
Dorf is a lot better than where he's placed. The dude just requires timing. A lot of timing.

How are people liking custom moves so far?
I really like Pac-Man's Dire Hydrant. I was never a fan of the whole "spewing water and kick it to cause damage" shit, the water can also be a hindarance more often than not, so having that shit just randomly explode is and cause KOs out the ass is great.
