Watching anime dubbed is usually a worse experience than watching anime subbed. Unless you can't read, but then what the fuck are you doing with your life?

Japan has more skilled voice actors to work on the various animes, and since most animes have japanese sensibilities, the way they act fits better with the plot and the emotions of what's going on.

I can't tell you how many times I've started watching a dub, found that I despised the voices of characters, and then discovered that the original japanese voices fit much better and/or weren't unbearable.

In Japan, voice acting is as prestigious as live action and the quality standards are much higher.

Playing undubs means you likely get better acting, proper lipsync and in the case of Persona(the most commonly played undubs), no terrible Japanese honorifics in English language.

Not him but I used to occasionally give dubs a shot because once in a blue moon they're actually good. Not having to read subtitles gives you more time to appreciate the art. These days I understand a good 50% of anime without subtitles so it doesn't really matter to me since I only have to glance at them. While I don't really play them, undubs would be perfect for me because I understand a lot of Japanese, but not weird archaic shit that appears in video games.

Thanks to the subtitles and context clues, I can tell HOW the shit should be said. I can't tell what they're actually saying, but the japanese VAs usually do a much better job than american VAs when it comes to hitting the right tone for what's going on, because anger and joy sound the same in any language

I've always found that gag dubs are pretty good. The fact that its all just jokes and all of the voice actors are just enjoying themselves makes the dialogue more natural.

It doesn't make sense how many dubs are super wooden and un-emotive
