Regarding the last time we had this thread, Guardlance dude here. I only use a mixed Agnaktor Z set to wear the Skull Mask cuz I got a hardon for skullfaces. If you just want the skills, you can use the full Aganktor Z set while using a good charm/gems to get rid of negative constitution and gemming in bombardier/artillery. Alternativel y just leave the negative constitution in and just live off of dash juices.

You're trying too hard. I didn't even notice shit like rage mode and extra moves until well after Great Jaggi became a totally quick and mindless affair. Anybody having trouble with Great Jaggi is still figuring out the camera and weapons, and the whole capturing system is a mystery to them.

In fact, I never struggled with Great Jaggi at all, because my first MH was Monster Hunter Freedom 2, where Giadrome kicked my butt and when I had to capture him I kept wasting traps, tranqs, and killing every monster I tried to capture until I understood what the hell I was doing. I wasn't green to 3D action games or manual cameras, either. Looking back, I can't even fathom how I was as bad as I was, like it was all a dream.

I'm maining Greatsword, kept a spare starting Horn and Bow to have some weapon variety (sold the rest of the starting weapons for initial funds) but I've been having so much fun with GS I haven't touched them

Currently I'm doing rank 3 quests in Moga, haven't touched Tarza or whatever the port's called.

I'm upgrading both the Bone Blade and Iron Blade, currently up to Jawblade and Rugged GS

Rocking full Jaggi set, already peeked at a few guides because I couldn't figure out the armor skill system thing (now that I discovered the skill point matrix it's much better though) and also peeked at the GS upgrade path.

Any pointers for a newbie? Surprisingly I've been having a pretty easy time, Qurupeco managed to cart me once but that's it

Also what's up with charms? I got a free auto guard charm from the smithy but I have no idea where to find more

I forget his elemental weakness, but he's one of the few monsters that gets wrecked by poison (I believe Duramboros and Urugaan are the others, but my memory isn't the best).

I personally prefer using the Gunlance to fight Plesi, if you have access to a high enough level Wide GL you can stagger him fairly well with charged shots aimed at his arm-fin-wings.
