I'll be honest, I did not have much of any hope for this game. It didn't look like it had an original bone in its body, and seemed so blatantly derivative with its setting. Making up new characters and stories in the LOTR setting just to milk the franchise more does not make me a fan, in fact in pushes me away. The nemesis "feature" just seemed like a crappy gimmick that would get old after the second or third time it happens.

Yet, somehow, this is actually getting good reviews and they're saying that the nemesis thing actually works well. I don't know who to believe, as the game isn't out yet, but so far it seems like Destructoid is the only site with consistently negative things to say about it. It's kind of blowing my mind and making me re-evaluate my negative opinions about it. I kind of want to play it now...

Maybe I'll check it out when it's in the bargain bin in a few months.

The gore physics look amazing. You can even see the light reflecting off it. I've always liked the batman combat, but adding gore like this is amazing. Also, saying it's too easy are the people who don't try combos. It's so much more fun if you have combos in it. And people who are saying it's a bad port because of 6 VRAM don't know that's the ultra mode, and that it also includes the high res texture pack. You could easily get ultra on 3 VRAM without it. I do want to see how good it looks in 4K if it supports it with the high res texture pack with the gore. This is my most anticipated game of the year besides Dark Souls 2, but we saw how that turned out. Hopefully this game delivers. Will you be using a controller or keyboard to play it on PC?

I'm hoping it turns out to be strategic stealth centered rather than combat centered. Where the goal is using minions and distractions/other stealthy shit to reach your objective, rather than, "Mash attack, run too target" like the more recent Assassin's Creed games have turned into.
inb4 it is combat centric, but with shitty, "Don't get caught/seen" levels like Assassin's Creed. Why are there no stealth games any more with ingame-punishments for failing? It's going to be hugely combat centered, pretty much all gameplay has shown that. I know they showed a lot of sneaking, but all i got from that was that stealth was piss fucking easy and enemies have no awareness at all. Personally i'd expect stealth being even easier than AC. Also most of the abilities they've shown are centered around killing enemies in large numbers.

fuck no. Get Dishonored instead, it's a better game overall aswell as a better stealth game.
All the splinter cells up to double agent were good stealth games, conviction was fun aswell but way more combat centered. I've heard the newest one was better but i stopped caring after conviction.

Also MGS V but you probably know that already. And before playing MGS 4 i'd recommend playing 1-3, the plot is convoluted as it is, it ain't gonna get better if you don't know shit about the characters or backstory.
