TROY BAKER. TROY BAKER EVERYWHERE. YOU MAY NOT KNOW, BUT HE WILL BE THERE IN THAT VIDEO GAME YOU ARE PLAYING NOW. YOU CAN'T ESCAPE HIS VOICE NO MATTER WHERE YOU TURN.
Little is it known that Snow is literally modeled off of Troy Baker's facial features.
Start from 26:30
...and now, this world shall know pain
Troy Baker has actual talent, and he's proven it whenever the ADR directors let him - it's just rare that they let him do anything but his normal speaking voice. That isn't his fault.
Nolan North on the other hand has no skill or talent and just thinks he's some fucking hotshot who doesn't need to try. He's got David Hayter syndrome.
>Nolan North no talent
I'd find his voice demo but I'm on my phone and need to go to bed. He voiced the Penguin in Arkham City and a ton of other characters you'd never guess, included a bunch of people from Dota 2. He also voices Deadpool in MvC3.
At least I usually can't tell when it's him. Glad he's getting bigger than Nolan North. If I hear Nathan Drake in one more game that isn't Uncharted I'm going to fucking scream.
I think hes developing a superego and turning into a dick with his recent successes. Thinks he's to good for anime or japanese games, how stupid. His best performance was in Catherine, easily.

I went through his list of video game credits and I've only played two video games with his voice in them
He was a great Joker,
but not the Joker we need right now
>Character named after Yuri Lowenthal
>Troy Baker ended up voicing him
Who care, I love Troy Baker. Seems like he treats all the roles he does very seriously. He does a good job of bringing his characters to life, and hes actually good at changing his voice.
Is he doing the VA for the boss in SRIV Gat out of Hell?
>implying he has anything on Nolan North
North is in games you don't even know he's in. He's voiced at least one character (typically more) in a AAA video game from your favorite franchise, I can statistically guarantee that. He's in everything nigger, EVERYTHING. He doesn't just do generic action hero characters, or generic bad guy grunts, he does every kind of voice. Every single archetype of character you've ever heard in a video game, he's done his own variation of that voice (or has actually done that voice you're thinking of). Old men, goblins, astral beings, fat jews, retarded robots, undead knights, he's done everything don't you fucking get it.
YOU CAN'T ESCAPE THAT NIGGA. YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE HIM. HE IS GODDAMN EVERYWHERE.
It's only easy to pick out for VA nerds. Basically the best skill you can have as a VA is to be able to do any kind of character you need to on command, your versatility and skill allows you to get all sorts of work doing characters that would otherwise be hard to cast because of their niche vocal styles.
I don't mind Troy Baker. At least his voice is tolerable.
FUCK THIS FUCKING FAGGOT SO FUCKING HARD DOING THE SAME FUCKING VOICE IN EVERY FUCKING GAME GODDAMN IT YOU FUCKING FUCK GET THE FUCK OUT
That very game is what inspired me to really look into that guy's career and it's fucking mindboggling. Like you know he's in shitloads of games, and you think you can always pick up on his voice when you hear it, but the sheer scope of it isn't that obvious, nor is his range.
Noctis will probably be voiced by Troy.
He's dubbed Noctis's Japanese VA before too.
Yup. And the other guy is Liam O'Brien.
Based off casting things Square has sent around, it looks like they might be interested in casting up and coming actors for the main roles – not voice actors, either. It'd certainly prevent things from being distracting.
Yeah, Matthew Mercer. I meant the "thank goodness" part, since they basically have the same vocal timbre.
OH IT'S ON NOW
oh I just do not like him something about him does not mesh well with me, maybe its hearing his voice everywhere, when persona 4 released I was fine with it but when golden came out all I heard was troy baker.
>Did Troy play Vincent in Catherine?
Good thing it's coming out on PC so we can just undub it.
>Based off casting things Square has sent around, it looks like they might be interested in casting up and coming actors for the main roles
Link? Type-0 is pretty much the regular voices.
Yeah, it can be pretty jarring to hear him all the time, but I can't fault him for all those companies wanting to use him. On the other hand, Ultimax showed Matthew Mercer is basically impersonating Kanji to a T, so I'm not sure the switch would be good for you.
I'd look it up, but I'm not sure if be able to find them on my phone. I know the documents were spread around E3 last year, though. Pretty sure I remember at least one guy who normally only does audio books showing up on the potential roster, too.
I think you're thinking Delsin; same with that other character being modeled off Laura Bailey.
Troy is an attractive man, but I gotta tell you it's kind of creepy seeing his face on a character who's maybe 21 years old?
Yeah but looking at the Japanese voice cast they already have Mamoru Miyano, Minako Kotobuki, Yuichi Nakamura and Tetsuya Kakihara in lead main roles, Noctis's JP VA is also gaining popularity recently from Free.
Also Troy has worked on an FF dub before too, even just this year.
They will most likely release it dual audio anyway.
its not I do not like him voice matching troy but I also hated troy trying to voice match hamil, I rather they do their own spin on the character.
I do not play arena or ultimax in english due to the fact due to liking consistency, I did not like the chie or teddie voice changes in arena so I play it in Japanese and same goes for ultimax.
>Troy Baker is now too cool to voice anime games now
It's okay, Matthew Mercer will just take those roles instead.
Had Generator Rex on today because I was eating breakfast fuck you, and it was an episode where he had to protect a band or something from some crazed fan or whatever, and Steve was not only the crazed fan but also one of the band members. You get shit with him talking to himself as far back as Ratchet and Clank 2, probably even earlier.
Looks like a small-time actress named Kate Towsend had FFXV listed on her resume at one point but removed it. The recording studio is also basically confirmed to be Tikiman Productions – which is used to handling talent other than dedicated voice actors.
I thought Erin Fitzgerald taking over Chie was a pretty good example if what you're talking about. Her acting was weak in some spots (kind of like with her old actress), but she did a take that fit without retreading old ground. Especially with Golden, you could literally hear Sam Riegel trying to imitate the old Teddie recordings, which hurt him, I think. He was better in Arena since he wasn't in anyone's shadow.
erin fitzgerald is completely different, I just do not like her voice, except when she is doing accents, I hate her normal sounding voice, I do appreciate how she did not try to imitate though.
Nah, it's more that he's probably fully-unionized, meaning he legally can't do most animu, eben if he wanted to. Can't blame him; it's the only way to get things like health benefits as a working actor.
Also, everyone getting into the industry nowadays starts with either anime our audio books. Most anime (with very few exceptions like Miyazaki movies or some projects like Fate Zero) are nonunion productions made on shoestring budgets, do they'll take a cheap actor who can emote reasonably well at that tier.
Yeah but Sam Riegel is beyond painful to hear anywhere and you can pick his voice out easily.
The thing about Dave Wittenberg is that he's so versatile that you have no idea he even voiced that character. Like, you know he does Kakashi but fucking hell any other role doesn't even sound remotely similar to him.
Bravely Default, Lightning Returns:FFXIII and Drakengard 3 all had dual audio.
Don't know if Type-0 HD will be dual audio but regarding XV someone asked Nomura in an interview about dual audio and he said to just ask SE itself because they make those sorts of decisions.
The unnamed hooded man.
Most start with theatre acting, actually and a lot of them will recommend it, apparently. I think Patrick Seitz was a fledgling theatre actor before someone recommend he get into voice work.
>The unnamed hooded man.
Oh, I forgot about Stella's brother.
>is that true
She was the Sorceress is Dragon's Crown.
Two unknown VAs, including that Katy chick accidentally listed XV on their resume when they really only worked on LR, somehow they mixed the two up.
They were probably just told they were voicing for a new FF and assumed it was XV.
Bryce seems like the coolest bro in real life, but he really has been pigeon-holed add the generic teenage hero. Have you heard him as Theodore in Persona 4 Ultimax, though? Sounds great and nothing at all like him. I'd love for him to start getting different types of roles more often.
Yeah, I prefer her in western cartoons more than in anime. She was great in Ed, Edd, and Eddy.
True, but I meant in terms of as a launching point in voice over specifically. Even then I'd say it's 80% theatre people, 15%, radio/DJing, and 5% other/no traditional background.
Still, there was mention in one of them of Tikiman, which hasn't worked on a Square game before. The website even says that it's working on an upcoming Square project, so maybe they got cast again?
My fucking nigga, Laura Bailey's voice is great.
>mocap sex scene with Troy while he watches from the sidelines
Sounds real fucking awkward.
At least in Binary Domain their characters were together.
