This isn't the first hardware issue with the launch model 3DS. My fucking 3DS has a manufacturing issue where just by closing it a few times the screen will get vertical scratches because of contact with the bottom screen.

And of course Shitendo Europe won't replace it under warranty.

For anyone who simply had the rubber slip off the circle pad, you can fix that with a little superglue. I had mine slip off two days ago, and I managed to fix it by applying a teeny tiny bit of superglue on the plastic circle, spreading it evenly, and then reapplying the rubber cover. I haven't had it slip off since I tried the superglue. Ah, superglue. Fixin' 3DS and staining the cloth on my Batman figurines.

I'll shed some light unto this.
People breaking them are the ones that spend more time playing melee intensely than they do playing anything on the 3DS.
They're not used to playing on a handheld and treating the pad with care.
You shouldn't worry about it breaking as long as you're used to playing on a 3DS.
I'm playing the full game competitively online and my launch 3DS is still like new.
If you treat it like a gamecube controller it WILL break, but again, you don't need to be agressive on the 3DS pad to perform competitively.

Actually, my Circle Pad broke on my old red 3DS XL that I got back in June 2013. I either had to get that fixed or get a new one entirely. And thus, last June I got my Zelda 3DS XL and I've been taking super good care of it since (always making sure I don't accidentally bump it into things, always keeping it in a case when I can).

I've had the demo for a while now though and I've had no problems, but seeing all this is making me kinda worried...
