When you beat Galaxy 1, you could play again as Luigi. When playing as Luigi, you could meet Luigi, and essentially there'd be two Luigis in the game. Dialogue was modified accordingly (such as Rosalina saying to you "Your clone is over there," and Luigi flipping out that there's two of him.)

Technically, you weren't even Luigi. You were just a recoloured Mario with Luigi's head bolted to the body. If you went up to Luigi while playing as Luigi, the two Luigis would be different heights.

I love how only Zero Suit Samus, Little Mac, Olimar, and Shulk get actual different outfits/models. Everyone else is simply recolors, even the ones like Samus who wore different-designed suits throughout her games and Bowser who could have referenced Rookie and Dark Bowser.

You know, Sakurai, since you made it so you have colored auras instead of color palettes in Team Battle, you could have gone the extra mile and given everyone at least one alt costume that's actually a costume and not a recolor.
