I agree with him. It was a fun game and the least undeserving of praise amongst the candidates, but it's not really worth the asking price. Maybe I'll get it on a sale sometime.
I think it does, just like I think Paper Mario does.
Today we have this assumption that everything that looks like flash should either be free or cheap. You can tell that Obsidian put a lot of time into making the game look exactly as crappy as the show, and that is the way it should be.
The choices were very limited in the whole thing. I flat ou skipped the mobile one and game personality.
>games over a year old getting in nominations
>destiny not mentioned
>3 months to go and tons of games to come out still
>none of them on list as most anticipated
is this like from last year or something?
>Voting for anyone but Shuhei Yoshida
It's like you hate video games if you don't
In fact the ONLY devs there are Dean Hall (more of an idea guy) and Rami
Palmer is tangentially vidya due to OR.
Everyone else is either Youtube, actor, or CEO
Baited but still don't call it fucking GOTY if it's not goty.
Seems more like GOT-Fiscal Year which is a retarded concept seeing as people can't even remember releases from february.
>wants to celebrate immensly talented creators of games
>list of campaigners, tv presenters and executives
ANSWER MY QUESTION YOU FUCKING NIGGERS
picked 3ds because all I really seem to play nowadays is SMTIV over and over
>No Neptunia Rebirth for handheld
>No Tropical Dong for GOTY
>Innovation of the year
There was other shit too, but seriously
From the documentary their reasoning is PS4 is adding social networking, and its because Twitter is basically an MMO.
It's also gamification. Getting followers and being retweeted is like collecting coins in Mario.
According to Wikipedia this Ian Livingstone dude hasn't done jack shit since he wrote a report on the british video game industry in 2011.
Why is this random jack even on the list?
>game of the year
Why do so many fucking sites and shows give out GoTY awards in Q4, instead of Q1 of the following year?
Why are they all completely and so irredeemably retarded?
I haven't played many games this year, pretty bad year for video games in general
The available choices are so limited it's ridiculous. I don't even like Hearthstone that much, and it wasn't released in 2014 yet I picked it for three categories because the others were worse.
How can anyone seriously think this list is in order of significance of "How video games changed the world"?
Why not? It was short but I had way more fun with it than most games in recent memory. I'd rather have a game that lasts 10 hours but is a lot of fun than a game that's padded to last 100 hours.
>puts out maybe one video every 9 months
>talks about "muh patriarchy in vidjuh gaems"
>isn''t even open up to any type of debate
>of the year
>Homefront 2 under "Most Wanted"
NOBODY asked for a Homefront 2. Why do you think the IP was so cheap when Crytek bought it
and then sold it afterwards when it almost killed them
Also, do I have to remind everyone that
what was once Free Radical Design is making it. INSTEAD of a new Timesplitters?
I hate Homefront and everything about it.
>all this murrican AAA shit
I really don't get why anyone even bothers with GOTY lists anymore. The only Japanese games that ever show up in the nominations process are Squeenix or Nintendo.
How'd I do /v/?
I'm still unhappy that Freedom Planet wasn't an option under indie games or GOTY
>Sarkeesian continues to regularly release new entries in her series
Shiggy fuckin diggy
>Based sea shanties will lose out to LGTBBQ shilling
>gaming personality of the year
if it makes you feel any better, i never played ass creed 4 but voted for it because i love sea shanties.
also, its not like there was anything else more deserving on the list.
burn it all
Fuck it to oblivion
The show was written by Matt Lees iirc.
Brooker is a prat though.
>this shitty TV show is shitty am I rite guys?
>Bu$h = Hitler
That's his entire schtick, going after the lowest hanging fruit.
like I give a fuck about this website or shitty little poll
GET IN HERE AND VOTE YOU FAGGOTS
I DON'T CARE IF IT DOESN'T HAVE YOUR GAME
Well this is mine
Yes I really liked Tearaway
Also I only picked GTA online because it's the only online focused game I played and didn't hate.
Stick of Truth was actually a very high quality game. I got 18 hours out of it. Not the longest thing ever, especially for an RPG, but I'm also glad it ended without wearing out its welcome. It was a pretty fun RPG and satisfying as hell to South Park fans. Literally the greatest licensed game ever. I hope it sets an example for others and we'll stop seeing half assed bullshit.
these categories suck, and these are the only selections I can make at least somewhat seriously
conspicuously absent: GOTY category; fuck that shit, horrible list that I refuse to choose from
BD is such a piece of shit all your votes are discarded
Seriously besides Anita and PewDiePie I don't know any of these fuckers.
> Best gaming platform
> Doesn't list PC
> Just lists Steam
Then how should I tell what game belongs on the list? I just put games that came out in some way in 2014. Should we go by their earliest release date? That would mean a lot of elven games getting left out because they usually come out in english a year or so later.
>all these plebs picking that generic 8-bit platformer because MUH NOSTALGIA
You're right, my bad
Stick of Truth was boring.
It was too damn easy and the gameplay was completely cliche and did nothing original. I'm sure it's one of those games that you play "for the story," but I was just so bored with it that I didn't want to play it anymore.
>best "GAMING" moment
>all cutscenes or things unrelating to gaming except for Rayman's music level
I've watched like 3 minutes of PDP but the rest of the people on that list were such hacks I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of them.
>bornken age is in categories when part 2 hasn't come out in almost a year.
>the broken mess that is dayz made it into the nominations
>that most wanted list
>thaif in anything
>battlefield 4 in multiplayer when it took almost a year to fix everything
>watchdogs in anything
>Those shitty moments in the best moments list
>GTAO and TESO being in best multiplayer
>IOS and google play being on the same level as a console/handheld
>The "best" studios
>the "personalities" of the year
>the GOTY nominations
