How great was this guy /v/?
I felt the Fumeknight was more fun.
Alonne is still pretty cool, more or less Artorias 2.0, sadly he doesn't have enough health or power to handle multiple people unlike Artorias. More the reason to fight him one on one I suppose.
>another big knight with weapon
>extremely edgy honorable sudoku
>dark infused katana
Seriously, B team? This is all you can do?
The whole HONOR thing is a little cheesy, sure, but he's supposed to be a goddamn samurai.
I thought he was a pretty good variance
for a big knight bossgiven how fucking fast he was.
Wow that's rude, you should consider committing tsunami.
pump adaptability so your roll isn't garbage
Fight clubs seems to be the only way to not encounter shit like:
> Phantom range katana
> Monastery scimitar
> Shadow dagger
> Nothing but roll backstabs
> Parry spamming
> Jester's chest wielding and doing nothing but fishing himself
> Poison mist/ dark fog spam
> Dual poison whips
> Every other cheap trick.
Not saying you can't win from this, just saying it sucks the fun out of the game.
The only reason I still play it is to piss off people with a Trainer.
I put my 400+ hours into the game and now if I want to rev it up I just mod in some 15+ gear and set num6 to insta kill everything (including NPC's) in a players world.
Shit is pretty funny
>be a wretch
>99% of the bluefags who invade me are like this
Guilty pay the price
Every duel ends the same way:
> Fight honarabru, just having some fun.
> Start winning
> Host runs to either heal or wait for a parry.
> Stops attacking completely and just waits for you to swing.
> Jump attack
And then the host rolls into a backstab with a dagger.
Crit damage is insane and should be nerfed at least 80%
>my mfw when playing a strength build with estoc + shadow dagger
Figured I'd ask in this thread rather than creating a new one.
What is with this games fucking abysmal fanbase?
Seems nearly all the players I meet online are complete shit-stains that think they're the best DS player in the known Universe. I was PvPing some guy and I killed him pretty fast
>I COULD HAVE KILLED U U FUCKING SCRUB
>But you didn't
>STFU SCRUB, 1V1 ME 1V1 ME U FUCKING SCRUB
Nearly every player I beat feels this instinctive gut reaction to send retarded hate mail because they lost a game. Not to mention the invaders who just run away from you, wait for you to die to AI or some shit then send a message like "FUCKING OWNED"
> You have been invited to ''ESTUS CHUGGING BITCH'' Steam group.
> The guy runs around with a fucking dagger and thunderdildo lance doing nothing but circling for backstabs (pre nerf).
> ''WAAAA YOU HEAL WHEN I PLAY LIKE A FUCKING RETARD.''
I laughed my ass off, he even attacked when dueling a friend.
I normally don't heal, especially when dueling, but when a guy makes the most obnoxious build to feel good about himself everything goes.
I'd suggest people to just Alt F4 out to not enable these retards.
Oh yeah they're really funny to read but it amazes me how often I get hate mail. I don't even use dirty tricks...I just find that most players are really predictable in their attacks (They nearly always go for a glitchy backstab) so it just involves strafing in the direction their moving then unlocking and hitting to their left/right...nearly always lands a hit.
But this game is seriously filled with some real kids. They can't take the fact their Hex Katana combo was beaten.
It pisses me off when players run away and heal 4-5 times in a fight, kill me then send a message saying they owned me.
Nigga it took you 5 health bars to take away my 1.
I beat the DLC and never encountered this fucker, thought I explored pretty thoroughly.
Where is he?
>I was getting wrecked left and right in blue arena
>fighting this match
>have denial on
>we both have one hit away from dying
>I fuck up and buff the posessed armor sword instead of shooting my crossbow
>he rolls away to shoot me, hits and i survive because of denial
>we shoot each other
>he still gets the win because he hit me faster
Why don't I ever meet anyone like this?
I'm starting to feel people just making these stories up.
I hardly even get cheaters.
His area has a bunch of Alonne knights with better-looking alonne armor, and they drop blacksteel katanas with white grips. Basically, if you like the alonne set, you can get a cooler version here.
>go to tower
>get invaded by npc
>he throws degrade-pots at me and runs down the tower's spiral staircase after taking some damage
>it's dark as hell
>firebombs being thrown at me
>no idea what's going on
>die from a greatarrow to the face
Trying to get through that fucking tower was ridiculous
>mfw the dickhead NPC phantoms emote after killing you
Pathetic actually, i only died to him once and i was only using a medium shield.
Raime the fume knight on the other hand killed me over 15 times until i said fuck it and summoned help and we both nearly died. i asceticed the bonfire and managed to solo him right after though.
I read the wiki entry on the Bewitched Alonne Sword, and it says it keeps its S rank scaling in Dexterity even if you change the buff. Is that true? If so, damn that's a good weapon for infusing, I bet.
Aw shit man, thats amazing to hear.
Now they only need to fix the infinite stunlock shit
Question. what is it with what I presume the more hardcore DS2 players and wearing the fucking ugly gear?
Most players you bump into wear armor or robes and when I see that I just think "Eh, average player"
But then someone invades who is wearing those wings with the cat legs and the bandage head with an iron dagger in one hand and a wooden shield in the other and you just know he's about to fuck your shit up.
There are a few armor pieces from which you can immediately that a player is an ultimate scrub.
Lion Mage's Robes, Hexer's Hood, Faraam set, Drangleic set, Havel's set + Gyrm Warrior helmet, and some others.
mfw all these scimmies have the right wrong timing to mash out parries for zwhy
>kinda a challenge
Actually that is pretty innovative. I've heard of plenty of people killing themselves when they're still alive - But how many people have killed themselves after they were already dead?
If he is, there's no way we're fighting him in that little fucking room in the Crypt.
yeah, but where do you make the cutoff? Where's the point where you go "selling any less content than this amount is fine"?
did you try fighting that fuck on NG+?
fucking hell it was ridiculous
General level design was good if you exclude the abortion that was the iron passage.
Enemy placement was shit and they need to fire whoever did it (muh ambushes).
Bosses were good if you pretend Alonne and Fume are the only bosses in the DLC. They're too tanky on NG+ and beyond though.
>yeah, but where do you make the cutoff? Where's the point where you go "selling any less content than this amount is fine"?
Well DSII's DLC is incredibly short and uninspiring, and added almost nothing to game besides more vague points to add to a non existent story and shitty items.
drangleic set isn't bad, it just implies the person is working through PvE and wanted a solid set without grinding.
I use the Syan knight set because it looks cool, people should just choose sets on aesthetics
>re-textured bosses and enemies
>short as fuck
the DLC levels are the best parts of the game.
Compared to the lackluster base game, Shulva and the Brume Tower are pretty much the best areas, and Sinh, Fume and Alonne are better bosses than any of the base bosses either.
The new DLC was just areas that I don't feel like I ever want to play again.
>endless generic axe dudes, very similar to sanctum fellows
>possessed armors not fun or satisfying to fight, awkward fighting style a chore
>many "muh difficulty" sections that felt like pure bullshit
>bosses enjoyable i guess but not worth going through the areas required
at least they added a better way to farm the mad warrior armor?
ivory king DLC better be fuckin ace.
>>many "muh difficulty" sections that felt like pure bullshit
I don't know, the one place i can think of was pretty managable when i realized i could use the barrel guys to do massive damage to enemies.
Fire arrows were kind of needed though.
I'm still waiting for some badass mage gear that takes advantage of cloth physics. Black Set looks ugly if you aren't wearing the hood. I hate the color of the Chaos Set, and Hexer's is just meh.
Fume Sorcerer set's bretty gud. Here's hoping Ivory King delivers on the magic swag.
The barrel part was ok, even if the lava-shoulder enemies were a pain in the ass.
I didn't like the area with the fume sorcerers by the cliff, the area just above Raime, the area before Sir Alonee was pretty shit, and my ass was thoroughly annihilated by the Iron Passage, but then again it is the co-op area. And I was trying to solo it. On NG+++
>comparing DLC of DS2 to bosses in DS
why is this allowed?
i didn't play DS because it was shit. you can shit yourself all you want about how the DS2 DLC bosses are similar to DS bosses, but it doesn't matter. DS2 players objectively have finer taste in video games and so are unlikely to have even bothered with the first installment.
