well fuck anon, if the part where he showed Ridley's shadow in pyrosphere while saying "other stage bosses will make appearances too" doesn't confirm Ridley as a stage boss then I don't know what to tell you. If you still have hopes of Ridley being playable after that then the only thing I can say is that you're naive, if not delusional. I understand wanting a character in the game. I'd LOVE for K.Rool to be playable, but if they showed his crown on a DK stage while talking about stage bosses I wouldn't be entertaining the thought that he'd be playable. Especially after we had a roster leak where he was nowhere to be found. The sheer number of assumptions you have to make to even get to the possibility of him being included is enough to make you look like an idiot for still thinking that he has a chance.

More people accidentally transformed in the middle of battle than those who transformed because they wanted to transform. Personally I think it would be fun if you picked one of the three, and then they switched when they got KO'd. You could add an option so they didn't switch though.

Don't really get the hate for Sheik/Zelda though. If both sides had legitimate strengths and weaknesses it would be a fun mechanic. People can't see past what's right in front of them.

A game design document.
Video games aren't made up as they go along. They roughly plan things out and get a general idea of what they're doing. This doesn't include everything that will make it into the game, but this is where the big important decisions are made.
Sakurai outright stated that the first thing they did with Smash 4 was to sit down and decide which characters they wanted to be playable.
If Ridley was chosen at this stage to be playable, do you really think Sakurai would have also picked him to be a boss, considering how rich the Metroid franchises is in potential bosses? Why not pick Kraid? Mother Brain? The Omega Metroid? Nightmare?
Any one of them could be a perfect boss instead of using Ridley again despite him being playable.
