>Someone asked about clones like Dr. Mario and Dark Pit, they said Dr. Mario was brought in to bring in nostalgia for Melee players and Dark Pit because of his popularity with the fanbase. Both were late additions to the game.
>Considered characters that got cut are: Mewtwo w/ Mega Forms, Dixie Kong, Blaziken w/ Mega Form, Chrom, a Hanafuda card, and Chorus Men. This was mentioned to show the development of the roster. Someone asked if any of these will be DLC and it was answered with no comment.
>Lack of Ice Climbers was pointed out, they said that Ice Climbers got cut cause it caused complications on the 3DS hardware and caused framerate issues to occur. They want the smoothest Smash Bros. gameplay possible. However Ice Climbers are high priority on the list for DLC and this was specifically mentioned in a hintish way to suggest they are coming.

Smaller models, less animations as well. Ice Climbers are basically literally two characters on the same screen. The Pikmin and Luna are tied to their character objects. Ice Climbers is like having an extra character object basically.

Kojima doesn't really have the executive power to get Snake into the game. It has to be a long term investment in the long run to put someone like Snake into the game. Nintendo has to obtain rights issues to use Snake and they have to pay good money for them. They went with the three we got in Smash 4 instead of the three + Snake. well, that's how I would guess it works. That's what they said afterall but this makes sense to me.
I also heard Travis Touchdown was requested by the series creator to be in smash as well a long time ago...doesn't mean it's going to happen, though.
