The fact that Jewstar designed the whole online mode around micro transaction was clear to me within one hour of playing the game.

- cops chase you when they see you in a stolen car
- can't disable cops to force you to buy a car and spend money

- cant create custom free roam lobbies because that would interfere with the micro transaction structure of the game

I think Activision might be in desperation mode, some of their moves just this month alone has made me think that maybe Blizzard will suffer whatever budget they'll lose and buy themselves out. Blizzard's been completely trumping them in revenue, I'd be surprised if they didn't sacrifice whatever budget ATVI gives them for some creative freedom. If you haven't following, lets recap:
