Why are there so few people on Smea's side about this? If he holds off on releasing the exploit until the new 3DS comes out, a lot more could be done with homebrew.
Because "Smea" has never done a single fucking thing and everyone knew from day 1 that he would conveniently backpedal at the last minute. Also because everyone who would care already has a Gateway.
It would probably just be a game of tag like with every CFW release.
>Nintendo releases update that fucks up homebrew
>people who have homebrew don't update
>new homebrew update releases that allows you to continue safely
fuck smea, he's such a moralfag
>durrr i dont like pirates
that's fucking the point
He doesn't support piracy though.
The only reason I followed this was for region free potential so I don't give a shit about whether or not some emus I can play on a billion different other devices will run 5% better.
>"Smea" has never done a single fucking thing
He made Portal DS, designed a 3D engine for the DS and wrote an entire homebrew toolchain for the 3DS which Gateway are currently using to add features to their firmware.
> for over 2 years
Firmware 6.1 which was the first to contain the user exploit is only a few months old.
>few months old
kill yourself if 12+ months counts as few
are you fuckers really this blind?
there never was an exploit in the first place, and there won't be one when the new 3DS releases either. this guy was always full of shit and you fucks are stupid for believing him.
plus no one is going to want to use any sort of exploit anyways because then you'd be locked out of smash bros online.
would you really be willing to install the 3DS exploit and give up the ability to play smash bros online?
>inb4 hurr durr you would be able to play online with exploit ecks dee
ya I highly highly doubt that.
Smea dick sucker please go
this guy is full of shit. you all got fucking rused. but go ahead, keep sucking this 15 year old hackers dick. you're a homosexual so Im sure you enjoy it
They certainly didn't block people with the Wii or the DS, even though they could tell who had the homebrew channel.
People have this obsession that Nintendo might ban you or purposely brick your 3DS.
>pretty damn sure people could still play online with Smealum's exploit.
you say that like the exploit existed in the first place.
YOU ALL GOT FUCKING RUSED. THIS IS A 14 YEAR OLD KID THAT JUST TRICKED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU
Because his reasoning is absolute bullshit, that's why.
Realistically speaking it's far more likely that the new 3DS won't work with the same exploits. Delaying a release so that it can hopefully work on the new revision is absolutely stupid, having a release NOW could open the door for a lot more exploits on the new 3DS as well.
>tfw you'll never be a 14 year old boy single-handedly coding homebrew libraries for a closed platform through a non existing exploit
correct me if i am wrong but has this not been the status quo for a while
>have to buy a flashcart due to how the whole thing works
>devs barely updated their shit and let their products die out
>fantranslations were never as numerous as psp and seem to have died out
allthough ggcx2/ace attorney were nice suprises lately
>devs squeezed as much as possible from it and made the psp the best portable emulator for a long time
>wolol and co still try their best for everyone to get homebrew access as much as possible without shitting on their fans
>fantranslations still keep going
why does it seem that the sony handheld scene is just plain better as a whole
I'm not terribly familiar with the PSP's translation community since the first fantrans I played from that console was Valkyrie Profile 3.
Could you list some that came before that?
The PSP only has 7 complete fan translation patches. The rest are incomplete, have been dropped or are just translated text documents you print out and read while playing the japanese game.
makai kingdom translation soon out judging about how fast the guy is working compared to la pucelle
And yes, I am aware that homebrew doesn't tranlsate directly to piracy but do think Nintendo or the feds do care about that?
This would really fucking hurt their reputation.
Homebrew does not automatically equal piracy
Piracy is illegal.
Emulating illegally pirated games is illegal.
Emulating games you own isnt.
Running homebrew code people make is not illegal.
I'm pretty sure they're free but all of them are for consoles that don't get supported anymore and Nintendo wouldn't make any money from.
And like I said, do you honestly believe they would care about that?
I don't think Nintendo, the company that still keeps up its family friendly picture, would like to show the world that they support something that 'can' lead to piracy.
Yeah, not having GTA, Ged of War, games the west is interested in counts a lot. The PSP was also a pretty good media player back in 2004. Vita offers nothing extra over smartphones, outside gaming, of course. PSP was way better than 2004 phones.
Either there was no release or the hints provided about the exploit will send Nintendo on a witch hunt to find the hole he found. Its a shitty situation and he should have shut his mouth if he was gonna be such a pussy about it.
>Emulating illegally pirated games is illegal.
>Emulating games you own isnt.
Emulating is legal regardless. Downloading or uploading ROMs/ISOs (aka the actual piracy) is what's illegal.
ROM download isn't even illegal. The only illegal thing, is to sell counterfeit cartridge copies.
And its not like 8 in 1 or 32 in 1 gameboy cartridges was fucking awesoem back in 1999.
