Doesn't mean the formula is good. For MGR it worked because of the setting and character. But for Korra, it just looks boring. Kill 3 dudes, move on, kill more dudes, move on, kill more dudes, kill boss.
I don't see myself playing too much of this game.
Even a video game won't be able to save the shitshow that was Korra.
I will throw you a bone here and ignore any past arguments about her fucking up, the love triangle, etc.
Simpley put, she has no purpose.
>B-but thats the point
Great. But a show is supposed to entertain us, not bore us.
Do people only like this because she is hot, mean if here eyes where brown she would be shit nigger? Also is this game supposed to be good.
I haven't heard any actually. "I don't like it" "Why not?" "Because its shit." That's all I've heard. No real argument. the only response I get is because Korra is nothing like Aang and terrible avatar, etc. No real explanation, just whining. This is why I ask for details and get none. Just butthurt.
Season 1 was good until the finale where it was revealed that somehow white-as-a-ghost Amon was actually a brown kid, and then the final battle with him lasted three minutes and ended with Korra pushing him out a window.
Lets be honest here. It was shit, it was utter shit.
But Madoka is trash too. Korra is actually somewhat better than Madoka, given Korra as a character atleast looks attractive.
I didn't like the love triangle shit in season 1 and 2. "oh god mako likes asami and korra, korra likes mako, and bolin likes korra. please think of how horrible it is for these attractive teenagers to not be able to figure out who to love."
Brown eyed Korra would indeed be shit.
>Avatar's purpose is to restore balance
sooo what purpose does she NOT have? What was Aang's purpose? Stop the Firelord. Okay then what? Nothing? No, he rights wrongs around the world. Basically the same thing Korra is doing. Equalist revolution, Civil War and Apocalypse, Restore Air Nation. Sooo where is there no purpose?
>bryke working on other things
thats a laugh
especially given the way korra has spiraled from "critically acclaimed' to "webseries"
theyre not even hacks theyre just awful writers who had one good idea and got carried kicking and screaming through one passably good series
thyere not gonna work on shit, this whole thing with nick is a gigantic red flag, no show goes to shit so quickly and still has three seasons of episodes to burn off, thats a fucking obscene miscalculation on nicks part
I seem to be alone in thinking this, but I thought Henry Rollins was awful. Every line Zaheer had sounded so forced, like he was just reading the script out loud for the first time. I know Zaheer was supposed to be a calm-mannered character because he was an airaboo, but so is Tenzin and JK Simmons puts a lot of emotion into his lines. Rollins just sounded like he didn't care.
The characters are much older but somehow less mature than legend of aang characters.
The fact that legend of aang had an overarching goal (defeat the firelord) gave it more time to develop.
Korra season 1 started out great but the teenage drama bogged it down, and the ending was absolute shit. So the villain in the end had no real purpose, he was just a powerhungry hypocrit. Oh, and you lost your bending? No trouble have it back!
Season 2 was shit all over i can't think of a part of it that was interesting except avatar wan.
Season 3 was allright all over.
Bolin is shit comic relief.
Probably. I can't imagine they would have an entire season of a Martial-Arts based action show, and have the main character sit in a wheel chair.
I kind of always wanted an avatar game that was like Jade Empire.
Sad the best Avatar games up to the point where the GBA games.
Comparing people to JK Simmons isn't fair anon.
They did an interview with IGN today where they were talking about the game and a little about the show. They said they already have the next villain planned and it connects with the stuff that's happened in the other seasons but you probably wouldn't see Zaheer.
Which honestly shows how bad videogames are.
Avatar will die after this.
David Gaider has been around after BG, and is still shitting up the industry with DAI. Fucking cartoons have higher standards than vidya.
Ihad issues with ATLA, but LoK has made me re-evaluate that, and consider it a miracle it wasnt this bad. Romance shit was still there, the third book was shit after 2, and I still hate Katara for stealing the spotlight because Azla should have fought Zuko. But Korra is so much worse.
Fucking yurifags worse than bronies when it comes to containment. You faggots cant even stick to canon.
I'm pretty sure a 74% decrease in viewers since the pilot, and complete abandonment by Nickelodeon executives means bombed.
They literally don't even want to fucking air it. They can probably get more viewers from Spongebob reruns.
The only people creating an illusion of popularity for it are delusional black women that keep trying to claim Korra as African instead of Inuit.
>Not knowing that season 1 was suppose to be the only season.
>no argument for season 2 other than it was shit. k.
>Season 3 wasnt' bad
Yes Bolin is shit tho. Will agree with that. If anyone has no purpose its him.
People want a dark avatar.
People try to kill Korra.
Airaboo can fly around just because.
Fight scenes look like shit at times due to laughable animation.
Korra will be present in Katawa Shoujo 2.
Season 3 in a nutshell.
While Korra isn't as good as TLA, it's also at least half Nick's fault for not advertising the show at all and giving it shitty timeslots. I didn't even know book 3 was starting until I saw a thread on /co/ three days before the premier, and 7pm is an awful timeslot normally reserved for reruns of old shows before the prime time stuff begins at 8pm.
It's no wonder it failed. Same shit happens with practically every new show Fox picks up.
More like the whole network is drowning, mostly due to Dan Schneider.
youre right, he was shit
he enunciated too much and there was no emotion behind any of his lines, he just spoke louder whenever he needed to be angry or whatever
and most of all the voice just didnt fit the character design, they shouldve gotten perlman or someone else with a deeper voice
maybe he was just painfully aware of how shitty the writing was but you still gotta put effort in
>thanks to Platinum's shit taste, /v/ has to put up with Korra waifufags
No They didn't. Nick threw it online because they were planning on doing that anyway because it has a larger audience online. They threw it online mid season because they have no place to put it with shows like Spongebob
Not him but I can expand on his reasons.
Season 1 was a mess. It seems that they originally planned to do a 20 something episode series but instead they had like 12-13 episodes and instead of making a story that fits the time constraints they just made an abridged version of their original vision disregarding character development. In the end what you got was a mess of a story that did not know what it wanted to be. You got a MC that was unlikable and for some reason everyone else liked her to the point to have hilariously bad love triangles and other geometric of love. You had characters like Asami and Mako that were just boring as fuck, and Bolin that was just one bad joke after another. The older characters like Tenzai and Chief Beifon were better but they were left with little development. Amon at first was interesting but the twist and turns his story had was just bad and making his anti-bending dialogue weak in the end. So Season 1 started with a lot of promise but was destroyed by its execution.
Continue next post.
its just like season 1 without the magic resolution at the end
its probably the best of the 3, but thats not saying much
nothing really fucking happens, you never feel anything for the characters because you know exactly where theyre going right from the beginning despite them trying to be ominous about it
>>Not knowing that season 1 was suppose to be the only season.
Explaining why it was shit doesnt make it not shit
>>no argument for season 2 other than it was shit. k.
There was just nothing interesting about it. It was predictable and boring as fuck.
he was fucking perfect as Jameson
>animations are DW-tier
>Art style is closer to a naruto game than an Avatar/LoK game
As much as I like Platinum, this looks too fucking cheap. I hope they'll at least make some money because of the licence.
>You faggots cant even stick to canon.
Let people ship whoever they want, it's not like anyone is being a retarded autist about it.
I want asami and korra to hook up 4th season just to spite you people.
Good. Now CQmorrell can finally end himself.
>muh crying when seeing anything I claim to like
>Korra is a terrible avatar
>Korra fucks up
>Korra learns absolutely nothing
>Deus ex machina saves the days
>Korra is still a terrible avatar
Korra and everyone else is a massive unlikable cunt with no redeeming qualities. The only highlight of the show was Tarrlok and Noatak's double suicide.
I ship Bolin and Korra though
Did I miss anything?
>mfw just found out Tenzin is being VA'd by JK Simmons
How can one man be this BASED?
Also Zaheer a shieaaat.
bison dont float dbz style, they have a giant tail that acts like a paddle that when combined with airbending propels them through the sky
it works like rowing a boat through water, it has nothing to do with "world attachment" bullshit, that was just more hamfisted eastern spiritual bullshit they threw in without even understanding it, just like the yin-yang "dark" spirit bullshit from season 2
LoK is still better than the majority of anime.
But it's still pretty bad.
People who enjoy shit like DAL, IS or Nisekoi have no right to shit on any shows because of their massive shit taste.
Like nick would let that cash cow die that easily.
Nick managed to get korra out and they have an army of autists backing them on getting a third avatar series. It's too big to fail.
Season 2 problems was simple. It was too out there. This season had to much mumbo jumbo and too many threads going at the same time. You still have the bullshit love triangle added with Amnesia and you got a recipe for disaster. The villain in this one was in the end a spooky spirit that enticed some guy to be evil or something. In the end we had a really over the top kaiju battle that went as fast as it went. This season is totally forgetable and all you need to know is that Spirits are free to roam the Human world and Humans can do the same on the Spirit world.
Continue on Next Post.
Season 1 I'll give its due credit to time constraints but there were still some pretty shitty decisions in it. That said it started out strong and ended piss weak.
Season 2 was the worst thing ever written by a human. Bonus points for the writers saying that it wasn't even supposed to make sense. It would take me writing a huge ass wall of text just to break down what a pile of fuck season 2 was.
Season 3 was not bad. Not great flirting with ALTA 3 in quality and ended with a decent set up for the next season assuming they do anything interesting with it
Korra suffered mercury poisoning which has crippled her. While Jinora has earned her airbending master tattoos, Korra is dealing with serious depression since her two claim to fame, her Avatar status and her fighting ability, have both been neutered.
The thing is this is the first time a season has ended without some contrived nonsense fucking everything up
>Aang suddenly reclaiming the power of the Avatar from bumping into a rock. Also energybending
>Season 2's everything
The best fucking thing about the finale was that STEVE BLUM got another role...as a guard watching over the airbenders and complaining he isn't able to see Korra die. Then he gets KO'd and probably dies.
>muh lionturtle gift
Don't forget how Aang magically unlocked his god mode cheat code just from Ozai punching him into a rock. Great job Bryke, I'm really on the edge of my seat when the hero starts beating the villain through no effort of his own.
Now we go to season 3. This is what Korra should have been in the first place. In this season we have time to get to know our characters and there's not much going on until near the end. The plot is more grounded with less mumbo jumbo thrown around and more simple storytelling. There's no love triangles on this one with the first episode lampshading that from past seasons. That for me was a sign of the change in direction of this season. This season was a simple Adventure across the Earth Kingdom with the simple premise of finding Airbenders and going from there. The end was a nice set up for Season 4 and I expect that one to be the finale of Korra.
>Korra suffered mercury poisoning which has crippled her.
Murcury poisoning dosent actually cripple you. Just kill you.
For some reason, she couldnt bend it out.
>Some master earth-bender can bend the mercury out of body.
grandma Toph confirmed for season 4
>Murcury poisoning dosent actually cripple you. Just kill you.
Common symptoms of mercury poisoning include peripheral neuropathy (presenting as paresthesia or itching, burning or pain), skin discoloration (pink cheeks, fingertips and toes), swelling, and desquamation (shedding or peeling of skin).
Mercury irreversibly inhibits selenium-dependent enzymes (see below) and may also inactivate S-adenosyl-methionine, which is necessary for catecholamine catabolism by catechol-o-methyl transferase. Due to the body's inability to degrade catecholamines (e.g. epinephrine), a person suffering from mercury poisoning may experience profuse sweating, tachycardia (persistently faster-than-normal heart beat), increased salivation, and hypertension (high blood pressure).
Affected children may show red cheeks, nose and lips, loss of hair, teeth, and nails, transient rashes, hypotonia (muscle weakness), and increased sensitivity to light. Other symptoms may include kidney dysfunction (e.g. Fanconi syndrome) or neuropsychiatric symptoms such as emotional lability, memory impairment, and / or insomnia.
>The comics do. Korra takes place 70 years later and has nothing to do with the events of ATLA
But it does though
They're continuing the "avatar needs to save the world"
They're redoing "avatar needs to learn all the bending"
It's just adding cruft to a universe that was already fine, Korra is like the Star Wars Prequels to AtLA's Original Trilogy
zaheer getting his happy thought was the contrived bullshit, but at least they heavily foreshadowed it throughout the season and didnt actually have any effect on the plot resolution
korra still hasnt wholly won a fight since the pro bending saga either, which is hilarious
>They're redoing "avatar needs to learn all the bending"
She's known every element since the end of season 1, and her learning airbending wasn't even close to being the focus of season 1's plot.
Depends on which season you're asking about. If you mean Korra in general her problem is that she was extremely headstrong with absolutely no wisdom. So she'd just going in waving her Avatar powers at people and would only create a huge mess instead of actually fixing anything. I guess the writers got the message because in S3 she's just the team muscle and kind of the heart of the team while not being in charge of major decisions aside for a few.
we don't know if she'd wheelchairbound for good or not. She did slam into the ground landing on her legs pretty hard a couple of times in the Zaheer fight.
I bet book 4 will be 4 or 5 months after book 3 and she'll be able to walk but not very well, maybe even using a cane
>Season 2 is bad
>When it introduced best Avatar
>only had to learn one element and that was Air
everything else after season 2 has nothing to do with learning and more to do with saving the world aspect of the avatars duties
It looks like a solid fighting game, but it's not what anyone actually wants out of an Avatar game.
It's only worthwhile point now can be its story line, which I'm not expecting anything out of.
Anyone got some kickass webms? I forgot to save them the last time.
Looking for the water circle one and the fire jet boots one.
ALTA is better of the two even if S1 was SLOW up until the end and S3 ended weaker than everyone wanted. S2 of ALTA in general is Avatar at it's best.
For Korra you don't need to watch ALTA but LoK has ranged from mediocre to bad. S1 had a strong start but got too wrapped up in bullshit and ended weak. Season 2 is retarded throughout. Season 3 is cool. Mostly.
>help me pls I'm being bullied
>don't do it, he's an evil spirit
>I'm actually evil :^) shame on you 1000 years of darkness™
>shit, let's fix it, I'll hide inside you and no other avatar will ever realize it
Wan was a shitty retcon which awfully destroyed the existing lore
He could only fly because his sparky boom boom waifu got killed by a metal bending grandma bending her armor around her face as she tried to fire explosions from her third eye.
Ok, maybe it got a little ridiculous this season.
Yeah but they're two different shows. One framed as an adventure with a lot of detours, the other more focused but shorter. You dont have to have watched ATLA to get korra but it helps with older versions of characters and other easter eggs.
you might even end up liking LoK more
>I'm actually evil :^) shame on you 1000 years of darkness™
Part of me want to be excited, but what's been shown so far has looked so incredibly dull, low budget and well, stale. Especially the animations.
I mean judging by comments here maybe the budget isn't all that high but if you want a game in this style to succeed it has to look fluid, exciting and well, fun as much of a buzzword it is. And what Platinum has shown so far looks none of it.
Unless there's been new videos showing otherwise but I doubt it.
The Wan episodes were terribly paced and were basically an excuse for a huge fucking retcon to the series lore for the sole purpose shoehorning in the "AN ANCIENT EVIL AWAKENS and I AM BECOME DARK AVATAR" fanfiction tier main plotline which everyone hated and went nowhere.
The only reason those episodes aren't massively decried is because they look better by comparison next to the black hole of awful that is Korra and also essentially have nothing to do with it in terms of characters, setting, or its self contained story. It's acclaimed simply because it's so easy to pretend it has nothing to do with Korra and that Korra doesn't exist.
Because the scheduling of season 3 was fucking shit, no one following it on TV alone could possibly continue to watch it because they changed dates and times without advertising it.
The majority of people who like the show watch it online because it was always on at an inconvenient time, or if you're like me, it was the only way to watch it as it is only aired in America.
A destructive character could easily have worked so well too.
They could have just pointed out how stagnant the world was and copied Hinduism.
Korra is maintaining a stagnant world with nothing really happening. The "evil" avatar just fucks it all up so something new that isnt lifeless and dull, can take it's place.
The Wan episodes butchered the lore of the Avatar universe in favor of "Objectively evil spirit vs Objectively good spirit" instead of the whole universal balance shit.
The best we got out of it was some decent fight scenes, a nice art style and a cool sound effect from Vaatu's laser beams.
>two spirits are fighting
>one spirit is white and has a motherly voice, the other is black and has a deep, booming voice
>I know, I'll attack the white one and let the black one escape!
Wan was fucking retarded.
I hope it's got a lot of replay value. I'm expecting Platinum to deliver with the "extreme" mode. Counters look pretty over powered as of now but I assume they'll introduce enemies you can counter you like in the Pro Bending gameplay.
I kind of hope it does well so that we can get a sequel with a larger budget. By the way, why haven't they announced a MGR2?
The eternally warring spirits thing could have been cool if they had actually gone with the true meaning of balance and made both spirits equal in the end, neither one dominant.
Because that's what balance is.
But nope, it was just generic good vs evil. Because order being 100% dominant with no chaos at all doesn't make for an incredibly stagnant, oppressive world, right?
the thing about them borrowing from eastern philosophy is that they dont understand it at all
its like ken levine-tier writing, they dont know how to actualize it so instead of doing research to properly portray it they "adapt" it into whatever stupid shit they were going to do in the first place and call it "influenced by" rather than "based on"
Pretty much this.
I've recently rewatched ATLA and man trudging through book 1 was worth it to get to Book 2. I feel it was the same for Korra Book 2 for 3. I hope it sticks the landing now.
One more season.
>Because order being 100% dominant with no chaos at all
Sounds like my kind of universe.
It's gonna be a mediocre Korra game that'll play really well but no a cuhrazey Avatar Kyoshi game
She made her own fucking island by cutting the land in half and sending it out to sea but Platinum has to work with Korra
I'm still gonna get it
everyone in season 2 was retarded
people were calling the uncle going supervillain the instant he showed up onscreen, it boggles the mind how they could possibly think that someone actually realistically in her position wouldnt notice what he was doing
Not really. Yangchen is the only Avatar that didn't fuck up. Kyoshi was headstrong like Korra is only she made a league of super rock ninjas that ended up being the biggest detriment to the Earth Kingdom short of the Fire Nation itself.
>she'd known him her whole life
they really didnt establish that at all
no flashbacks or anything really, not even a "favorite uncle" story to explain away her blind trust of him
Why waifu Korra when much better girls who aren't filthy water fucking shits exist?
That's sort of like how I thought the avater line would be no more because aang died while he was in super saymen mode, despite coming back to life I thought it was going to fuck the avaters regardless.
They didn't pick up on that and bet they wont pick up on this because that'd be too cool..
youd need someone juxtaposed from korra considering shes gonna be the only spiritual contact for them
so like a lazy tomboy that runs away from her responsibility as avatar and instead uses the powers for her own personal gain and constantly gets bitched at by spirit korra for not doing her duty as avatar
>Plus in real life you wouldn't have the ominous music playing the background every time he showed up.
What if he had a personal servant following him around with a phonograph at all times? He's the chief after all.
The combat looks awesome, and if the story is a prequel to S3 rather then an epilogue to that abortion S2, the story might be decent too.
It's a small budget action game, and ironically it looks like it has more depth then MGR, something this board loves.
>all my asami is too lewd to post
mako is the original mary sue, but the little brown kid is the newest one
they have a real problem with overcompensating for their own personal insecurities when designing characters
CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:
DLC episodes featuring MGR bosses as crossover cameos
Mako fulfills two roles:
1.) Originally hewas basically a less angsty fill-in for Zuko to satisfy the ZukoxKatara shippers in season 1.
2.) He's one half of Sokka, specifically Sokka's logical, serious half. Bolin is the comedic half. Unfortunately the writers didn't realize that Sokka was great because he mixed these two traits together so well. Having two characters be purely one and the other just makes them annoying.
I wish Bolin would die and never come back.
>Naruto of west
Naruto is the Naruto of the west. Rest assured, it emanates enough autism to collectively fuel both Japan AND the west.
It doesn't look like it captures the feel of bending but that would be fucking hard, especially for a low budget game. That being said, it looks fun and I will play it.
>That was just a case of Shamallama shitting out a terrible excuse for a movie
That's actually not true:
he fulfills one role, to be the writers insert
hes barely even a character, hes just magic plot resolution to whatever situation he gets applied to
theres no consistency to his personality at all, hes just good at everything without even trying, they even made lin retarded for a whole reason just to make him look good by comparison
hes like one catchphrase away from being coldsteel da hedgehog
S4 will be about Korra reconnecting to previous avatars. Probably in spirit form or time-travel. Last episodes are her teaming with Aang to stop Red Lotus guys from fucking up spirits.
I still say the only way let a player capture the feel of bending would be in pen and paper format. That way you can do more than just the specific moves they program and animate, and actually use bending in a larger variety of ways.
Why is the writing in this show so terrible anyway?
I dunno. I'm just thinking about being an Earthbender. Deciding to make a alternate paths to an objective with earthbending, or make a shelter to rest in, or a table and chairs for a picnic and such.
Though I'll admit when it actually comes time to do that stuff I fear like my wits and imagination falls short. I think maybe roll playing is more fun in my head than it would be in practice, and I've never gotten to do much of it before.
>You don't have a choice.
>my fucking face when
I want an Avatar game with bending powers similar too Infamous Second son
They made the tumblr/ devinatart mistake of believing original character donut steele designs, epin BADASS fight scenes, a parade of fanfiction cliches, muh progressiveness, and edge would carry the show.
Did you not listen to him spouting that prayer or whatever? The only person he gave two shits about melted her own face off, so he basically gave up on life/earthly bonds.
He felt like pic related and then let go.It's not as 'out of left field' as you might think, but the foreshadowing was sort of obtuse.
>unlocking Ice Launch in inFamous 2
>yfw season 2s entire conflict was caused directly by korras actions
>without her intervention nothing bad wouldve happened
>she had multiple opportunities to stop fucking doing things and the problems wouldve been resolved
>she did not
>everyone wouldve been better off if she had just stayed at home and masturbated for 13 episodes
>It took Kuruk having Koh stealing the face of his love to get off his ass and be the the avatar.
What every avatar really needs is Koh. Koh should just come in and fuck with them until they learn a life lesson.
>be born tan girl
>goddamnit I wanna kill that baby
>goddamnit I'm I'm jail
>I miss my Wafiu
>fuck yea airbending
>fuk yea Freedums
>Let's all live my dream under americlap Freedums
>fuk my Wafiu died
>fuk yea I can flllllllyyy
>fuk you korra I can flllllyyy
>goddamnit you can fly too
>I hate babies, I'm going to kill you
>I should have never tried too kill an Avatar with Mercury and air
This is the biggest reason why S2 was a pile of fuck
>With both portals locked, Vaatu's plan never gets off the ground
>Her father warned her against trusting Unalaq
>Tenzin reminds her that she still hasn't mastered airbending and doesn't have time for this shit
>FUCK YOU GUYS I DON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME
>Open one portal
Oh Vaatu needs both portals open. Since only one is open I guess we'll just leave the other one alone until the end of Harmonic Convergence and-
>FUCK THAT WE'RE GOING TO TRY AND INVADE AND CLOSE THE OTHER ONE!
>Oops, Jinora kidnapped. Now you have open the second portal or Jinora dies
The first portal I could give her because she didn't know Unalaq was trying to awaken an ancient evil. But why the fuck would she willingly go back there to close it and fall into a trap when she knew full well that just leaving it the fuck alone would thwart his plans anyway because he needed both open?
>beat good and evil
>you now have both powers
>Ice jump into firebird
>napalm grenade plus homing missle
>Tether plus evil cluster missle
They said I couldn't be a god!
>know full well that there are countless spirits like Koh out there that are evil as fuck and think screwing with humanity is a fun passtime
>"lel, I'll leave the portals open anyway for shits and giggles. Nothing can go wrong!"
If everything is at balance the spirits are bro-tier
Wouldn't you want to hang with spirits?
I would and I would also take the risk of them going berserk if balance isn't kept, the avatar should be fucking up everything that endangers that
God damn it I forget they brought Iroh back for cheap fan service which ALSO retconned the fuck out of the franchise lore.
Korra fucked so much shit up I can't even keep track of it any more.
I wanted Bolin too turn Asami over and fuck her tight ass all along.
Maybe those kawaii spirits at the Misty Palms Oasis that were just abstract shapes. Those were great.
I'm not hanging out with faggot monkeys or bears who think they're better than me, though.
They look cool but I want to see more of the talking ones, I hope season 4 centers on spirits roaming the human world.
korra is like a housefire
like yeah its technically "more exciting" than the normal house but if you get to close to it it will hurt you
and even if you dont its still gonna destroy everything you love
also korra is hot
Since this is a Korra thread i guess this is an alright place to ask, but what's the deal with lava bending exactly? I mean lava is basically liquid rock/earth so it makes perfect sense for earthbenders to be able to bend lava if they practice enough or what not.
What i don't get is how the fuck do the lava bending earthbenders CREATE lava? Controlling it is one thing, but creating it? How? Wouldn't you need to be able to melt down the rock/earth yourself to create lava? How does an earthbender do that? Fire benders create fire from their body heat, but earth benders can't do that, so how the fuck do they melt down the earth to lava themselves? It doesn't really make sense.
I feel like the avatar should be the only one who can full on lava bend like that because they would be able to create the lava whenever they please then bend it, while normal lava bending earth benders should only be able to manipulate it, not create.
they dont gotta rub it in though
theyre like high elves in elder scrolls games
are they technically god-kin, yes
does that make them better then everyone else, also yes
but they dont gotta be dicks about it
hell the only reason bretons even exist is because people used to find them tolerable enough to fug
can people fuck spirits in avatar
like theyre clearly corporeal is some way does that mean you could put your dick in one
or do they put their dicks in you
did korra facilitate mass spirit rape
Lavabending is a technique which involves the manipulation of molten rock. The technique is typically only performed by fully realized Avatars while in the Avatar State in order to accomplish complex feats of bending. The first known user of this technique was the Fire Nation Avatar who preceded Yangchen, who used it to cause the simultaneous eruption of small four volcanoes.

You have one job, Platinum
>So are you excited about the new Legend of Korra game by Platinum?
No because it is a cheap load of garbage with shallow mechanics. Platinum is only involved to get a quick paycheck, if that wasn't obvious to you by the clear warning label "Activision/Blizzard" you have other problems.
Just because it's Platinum doesn't make this any more than typical Activision shovelware. IF you buy it, you are funding Hitler's revival.
>If Tenzin's brother and sister weren't complete fuck ups they would have won easy.
Hell without that bitch firing fire missiles from her blimp I think he could have taken all 3.
Looks fucking boring as shit, I have no hope for quality, but since it's Platinum I will pirate it when it comes out to give them the chance to win me, if I actually want to play the game after spending time with it I'll definitely buy it immediately.
Unless they have a demo, then I can skip the pirate thing. Platinum has had demos for most everything, so that'll be fine.
That's some fucking sci-fi shit right there.
There is still one more season with place for new villains and plot stuff.
Every place is full of Miyazaki like creatures, also Republic City still has the spirit vines all over the buildings.
Considering how Korra has gone I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of boss battles you're supposed to lose. Hell there might even be an actual bad ending.
That's out of date though since in Korra S3 the Red Lotus earthbender created lava at will.
It's a shame they didn't stick to the 'avatars only skill' because it makes more sense. In fact, avatars should be way better fighters than they are now, that's something that really bugged me watching this. Korra could barely even go toe to toe with her uncle in S2 and he was only a fucking waterbender. I mean a master waterbender i'm sure, but still, all he has is water bending, i feel like the avatar should be able to concur most normal benders considering you're a master of FOUR FUCKING ELEMENTS while they have one.
The whole DBZ style fight with Zaheer is how Korra should have been fighting for two seasons now. You're the fucking avatar, master of all four elements, she should have been launching herself with earthbending, boosting herself with firebending, and gliding along with airbending to simulate flight during combat a long time ago. You can create so many combos with elements your enemies wouldn't even know how to come at you.
But no, instead she couldn't even tackle a normal fucking waterbender in S2 and a normal airbender in S3. Aang struggled against a normal firebender too.
>being this wrong
No they pushed it off the air because they gave it a shitty time slot and it was too mature compared to other cartoons on the channel.
Plus all the leaking caused people to watch it online instead of on TV.
They put the rest of the episodes of Book 3 on-line because that's where the viewership was anyway.
>muh tv broadcast numbers
Yeah yeah anyone can record the episode and watch it later. Does it really fucking matter?
Platinum understands that a video game is supposed to be fun. They're going to design a game where Korra combos and kicks ass, and thats going to be the end of it. Hell look at MGR, which was literally about a cripple whose only biologically functioning parts were his brain and central nervous system.
And then compare Lightning to this bitch who is going to get everything back after rehab and a training arc anyway.
October 21/22 release date
Mercury poisoning. It's left her a cripple unable to use her legs. At the same time Tenzin pretty much announced that the new Air Nation is going to do her Avatar job for her. The two things she was most proud of, her strength and her title as Avatar, were pretty much taken away from her so now she's depressed.
>what the duck do you expect her to do?
How about throw the water AWAY from her. Just bend it all and chuck it off the side of the mountain. Without any water Ming'Hua is just a helpless cripple.
You do realize that Ming Hua is a waterbender and can pull back on water someone is trying to take from her right. It's a tug of war only she can just keep making more limbs that you have to concentrate on.
Dude they are kids that especially in a aang's case have not fully mastered all the elements while their opponents were fucking masters with a lifetime of experience. Also notice how Ozai was aang's bitch during the avatar state
Also, Kya is more of a healer/wanderer than a fighter. But you can tell she learned from Katara by her moves.
Dammit I wanted to see Katara fight this season. But then again she would have just jobbed like Zuko
What's an avatar? How did she get poisoned? What's a Tenzin?
I've only seen that Shalalaminayanian movie and I only vaugly remember it, something about magic koi that it. Is this the girl from that movie?
If she's a cripple why are they making a game about her? Wouldn't that get boring?
>It's a shame they didn't stick to the 'avatars only skill' because it makes more sense
Lava is liquid earth just like water is liquid ice. Should ice be an avatar only skill because it's supposedly water plus air?
>What's an avatar?
Watch the series to get some context
all of Avatar: The Last Airbender is worth watching
Legend of Korra season 1 is okay up until the last few minutes
season 2 is shit except for Varrick (pic related)
season 3 is good
Well you see an avatar is a Superman and the poison was kryptonite and Korra is basically Superman after he got shanked by Kevin Spacey with kryptonite and the kryptonite entered Superman's bloodstream and made him a fucking potato in an endless state of undeath at the end of the movie.
Oh and imagine Superman having a gay lover that he can't fuck anymore.
Recent turn of events. When the Platinum game takes place Korra was easily the team's best fighter. Here's how Avatar in general works:
Most people have the ability to control one element: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water (most of the airbenders died out so don't expect to run into them as enemies)
The Avatar is a person possessed by a divine spirit. They alone are capable of using all 4 at the same time.
The Avatar is responsible for keeping the world generally stable from all the would be conquerors and evil spirits.
So will her and Asami bang under the airship during the series finale?
The genesis tale during S2 was good too.
In TLAB, Aaang has a good character arc, growth, and lots of interesting supporting characters. He also had a very big purpose that defined and focused him.
Korra seems to be a rebellious teenager who has shits loads of power and only uses it in the bluntest manner possible.
In TLAB Aang and the cast were always doing interesting things with their abilities. Their fights were beautiful and the choreography of the animation(is that the correct term?) was amazing in a lot of fights. Korra just seems to throw fire and blocks of earth at everything and brute force things her way. Her fights are ugly! She has no style, and why is a waterbender relying upon fire more than anything else? She should have been having difficulties using fire and mastering it, but everything comes easy for her.
She is literally the kind of entitles teenage prat that I like seeing the MC of a series piss on.
Teenagers tend to date around, deal with it.
God I hope she goes full lesbo
27, so pretty close.
I think it was just coming on TV when I was getting out of highschool. I'm really only interested now because Platinum is making a game.
>Recent turn of events
So there's still a chance she gets better before the end?
>Most people have the ability to control one element: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water (most of the airbenders died out so don't expect to run into them as enemies)
Oh yeah, I think that was in the movie.
AH! THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NIPPON ANIME WITH PURE WAIFUS AND WESTERN CARTOONS FULL OF SLUTS!
Korra might be a waterbender by birth but her personality is pure firebender. She has almost none of the waterbender philosophies of going with the flow despite being taught by Katara. Meanwhile she has every one of the Firebender philosophies, such as her passion and brashness along with Earthbender philosophies of being headstrong and stubborn. Which is why Air was near impossible for her to learn since Air philosophies encourage introspection and mediation.
The characters in Korra are inherently shit to their core.
No matter what bullshit plot they come up with, the characters will always be weak as fuck and have no chemistry with each other. Last Airbender worked because the characters were fantastic.
Well I just watched the first season and most of the second on the whim. Korra's a beautiful strong retard who don't take no advice, Bolin is a faggot, Maco, Mako, whatever the fuck is a featureless gray wall, and the first season left me underwhelmed. The artstyle is neat, I liked "the feel" of the setting and I thought the villain was neat-o but then everything got flushed promptly down the shitter. It felt like there was so much more to do with the whole Equalist thing, but nope. I'm kind of lost interest now, maybe I'll stop, pic related.
>Hey Raava, whatever happened to Vaatu?
>We're both eternal spirits. When one is destroyed, it grows inside the body of the other
>Wait so that means that the spirit of darkness is growing inside of me right now?!?
Alright, I'll hope they have the balls to keep her crippled however.
I always get annoyed when they puss out and have them suddenly make a full recovery.
Don't listen to this Anon, the Wan episodes are glorified lore retcons so they could force in a JRPG tier plot and the rest of that season is so pigfuck awful even the most diehard KIDF can't defend it.
Drop it and pretend anything past the original series never happened.
I'm really hoping that since they put S4 and S3 in production around the same time they'll be able to push through with existing elements. If they bring in another villain-of-the-season I'll be pretty disappointed.
PJ Korra better be an unlockable costume
Bayo = Dante > Avatar Korra > Raiden > Korra
Bayo and Dante are above both since both have otherworldly powers. Raiden wins over Korra because while Korra has her elemental advantage, Raiden has an unbelievable pain resilience. But the Avatar State is a force of nature.
>she never walks again
>has to fight by metal bending her wheelchair
Maybe they'll throw in a reference to that one inventor guy that was in a wheelchair from the first show; maybe his descendant will have invented pic related
Uh, they don't show it on TV anymore; it only airs on the Nick website and that's only because Nick got locked into a two season commitment after book 2 (meaning there'll be one more season)
This is one of those shows where the opening explains the basic premise, so those'll help.
Opening to the first series
Opening to the second series, which takes place 70 years after the first, and what this game is about.
Two important concepts you're going to know for the plot of this game
1. Equalists. They are non benders who feel the world is run by people who can bend, and so use technology, along with martial arts techniques that block an opponent's flow of chi and thus neutralize their bending powers to fight against the "bending establisment". Basically terrorists.
The main character, Korra took out their leader before this game takes place, but as they are enemies in this game clearly they are still operating.
2. The spirit world. Mysterious other dimension where spirits live. Traditionally, the Avatar has acted as a peacekeeper between the humans and spirits that tries to maintain balance, and we know we will be going into the spirit world at some point in this game.
God forbid they do something different. Her not being perfect and having ACTUAL flaws, and not just accessorizing flaws, is actually rather fun. The REAL problem is the writing involving her is almost all shit and she winds up being the worst avatar quite literally ever.
No. That's fanart
This is a scene from a children's show.
youve obviously never seen it before
too many lewd scenes to count
come on son
that's a shit shop and you know it
According to legend of korra, the avatar has only existed ten thousand years, and yet in ATLA we see that there were no fewer than several hundred avatars. What gives? Why would the most powerful beings in the world have an average lifespan of only several decades?
Well yes. I'm wondering why they would just completely disregard the things they already wrote when writing new things
Like how exactly does the fucking avatar state work? In ATLA, we were told that it was the avatar channeling the power and skills of all the other avatars, but in korra, it's due to some kind of primordial spirit. You could argue that they could both apply, but korra in the avatar state was incapable of fighting her uncle in the avatar state despite the fact that he sure as hell didn't have any past lives to draw on.
it's more of a family show than a kids show
in ATLA, they never show anyone die onscreen, but death is mentioned
but in Korra, they actually show people dying (probably why the show went online-only halway through season 3), sometimes the deaths are brutal like
the earth queen getting the air vacuumed out of her lungs
i kept thinking the red lotus would try to sacrifice themselves to enter kora's soul and become her new spirit guides, but that mako, bolin, tenzin, and korra's dad would fill that role after sustaining fatal injuries while battling the red lotus
but that would have been, you know, interesting
She could have had plenty of flaws, but the point of growth is to actually learn and outgrow those issues. The avatar is always a spiritual individual. Even the ones who ignore their avatar duties to a point still have this Zen lifestyle.
If she had been brash, stupid, and headstrong compared to Aang's flighty nature, but had the same spirit, the same selflessness and compassion for others that the Avatar is supposed to have, then it would have been fine. She doesn't learn, she gets slapped around harder than Aang ever did but refuses to learn. Kyohsi did "things", but she did them for her people and she was always willing to be the first to sacrifice. Some with Roku, who was willing to die to ensure that more people could survive a volcano.
She is supposed to have the same soul as the rest of the Avatars, they were all very different people with the same moral core. She has no morals. I restate my point that she is the kind of twat of a child that I love to see MCs of games and shows piss on.
That makes sense until you look at Korra versus Unalaq. It's completely fine that the power boost comes from the primordial spirits but the other aspect of the Avatar State is that it's the amalgamation of the knowledge of every Avatar who ever lived. Korra had 10,000 years of experience under her belt. Unalaq had himself. Even if they were matched power for power Korra had FAR more experience and 3 other elements at her disposal. It should've been a curbstomp battle in Korra's favor.
>easily the best Korra season
>ratings dropped like a fucking rock
I would personally like to find out that the reason she is so weak in the avatar state is that she is so focused on herself and being her own person that she even shuts out her own past lives.
It would be amazing if the past avatar lives weren't gone, they just made her think it so she would realize what a douche she was being...
>Implying anyone ever made the claim that Madoka was good
Yes, but I am asking if they said it was 10k years ago or if the cycle happens every 10k years. There is the chance that the cycle happened once or twice between Wan and Korra, but because the portals were close there was no change.
Since this is sort of /v/ related, her VA is Zelda Williams.
>ZW voiced a character that saved the life of someone else's father
If you're talking about the character, probably a red herring to make us believe she's going to be a villain. It's way too obvious with how much sudden emphasis they gave that new character.
