SHIIIIIIIT this game went from zero to fucking awesome in 1 mission flat.

I did all the missions on red brick difficulty without cheating. Felt so proud of myself seeing that giant red cube at the end.

>>

Lego stunt rally?

I loved it as a kid but there's so much autosteering and rubber banding going on, I could tell even back then. You could win pretty much every race just by holding down the up button

I... might be a little biased. Not that I think Island 1 & 2, Racers, and Rock Raiders aren't the tightest shit.
>>
I wouldn't say it's the best but Lego Creator is severely overlooked when it comes to Lego games.

I had loads of fun building cities I could walk around in, vehicles I could drive, and exploding shit with dynamite.
>>
about a week ago I remembered this game I used to play on lego.com that was like a turn based strategy board game about computer hacking and viruses and shit, and at the time I thought it was the coolest game ever, but that was probably almost ten years ago. Anybody know what game I'm talking about and if there's a place it still exists?
>>
>>259713638
I did it a few years back, ran a virtual windows 98 or 95 and installed it on that.
>>
>>259715034
Lego Racers is so hot shit.
Rocket Racer was a fucking cheater though.
>>
What really rides my bike is that you never build anything with lego anymore.
>>
>>259713019
The sequel was NOTHING like the original, and frankly seemed to lose a lot of the whimsical charm for being a platformer where you fought stuff and could die.
>>
>>259716303

And same with the third one, xtreme stunts
>>
>>259716303
I beat the second one once to justify the cost and went right back to the first.

I didn't even know there was a third until this thread.
>>
>>259716178
I do, anon. I just tend to design them first.

Lego Digital Designer is still awesome for this sort of thing.

Lego Island was still my first and favorite Lego game though.
>>
>>259716783
With the ridiculous price of Legos now you'd be crazy not to use digital designer first.
>>
>>259716956

Don't LDD things cost a ton too because they don't give you explicitly just the parts you need, but all of the groups of packages that contain them?
>>
>>259715749
Are they still fun? I remember them being the glitchiest things ever. 2 I don't think i got through because it was just a mess.
>>
Lego Island is still the best.
>>
>>259717189
Well I was thinking just designing them first before buying a bunch of arbitrary legos and then assembling your own package.
>>
>>259716412
There was a third one...?
>>
>>259717275
The first one was pretty much exactly what I remembered once I got everything smoothed out. There was a little nostalgia fog and it's definitely a kids game, but all the elements I remembered were there.
>>
>>259717681
I remember the police station, a crazy car, a pizza place, some house on a mountain. Didn't the second one have a superhero? Or was that one?
>>
>>259717631

Yeah, pepper's the star of a movie with his girlfriend and the brickster is the villain

It's still open world, but progression comes form completing the minigames which are all filming different scenes of the movie - 5 in all with different difficulty levels.

There's a whole bunch of side quests and collectibles though but it's again a completely different execution of the concept
>>
>>259717776
I seem to remember a super hero flying around the tower or something in the first but I don't think you could interact with him.

Where the fuck is the revival of Lego Racers
>the brick layout of your car could actually effect how it controls
imagine
>>
>>259723763

Fun fact - the number of bricks on you car actually did have an effect on how the car handled - "heavier" cars were slower on turns and etc but accelerated faster.

Actually, this really makes me want to go back and play Lego Racers now. Would I need an emulator to make it work on a modern machine?
>>
>>259719230

>>259723505
No, you know what would have made LR2 good? If it had let us build cars but it was like, "Noooooooooooooo use the prebuilts', stop trying to build things." It's said that if you had six 8-stud bricks then you'd have virtually limitless combinations, but that doesn't make for a very interesting car!
>>
>>259724020
No I played through the whole game a few months ago, you can get it off TPB.

LR is an okay game but it could use an ambitious reboot. It's short and there's almost no reason to do anything other than grab green blocks, stack whites until teleport and repeat as many times as you can.
>>
>>259723763

lego universe had racing and you could customise the car to an extent, but not brick by brick

>Why will we never get a Proper sequel to this game and the one we did get was shit.

I played the original and the sequel when I was young, but I remember the sequel fondly:
>you can still create your lego car
>you can destroy the cars of your adversaries and so can they
>you can explore the maps and do side-quests(not 100% sure about this)
>you have boss fights

The only thing I didn't like was how the power system worked(I thought it was superior in the first one)

Oh and the yeti boss, I hated him sooooooooooooooooooooooo much, such a cheating bastard.
>>
>>259728292
>you can explore the maps and do side-quests(not 100% sure about this)

You're right. It was, to an extent, an open world racing game with RPG elements (you could get upgrades from bonus games)
>>
>>259728292
Was he the one who dropped icicles after him so you ran into them?
>>
>>259729470
All I remember is that he started the race before you could. For those who haven't played the game there was a street light with red, yellow and green. The game was coded so that no vehicles could start until it was green. The yeti however, started running at yellow and you just stood there looking at his ass while he was winning the race.
>>
>>259729840
There's a bunch of shortcuts you can take on that map, it's easy.
>>
>>259729470

Sure was
>>
>>259729951
That's how I ended up beating him, still I hated him with so much passion just because he started way before you could start.
>>
>>259713794
I have that game, along with Legoland and Gex: Enter the Gecko. The only physical PC games I own. Got them like 14 years ago.
>>
>>259726592
There was some bullshit about it having an aerodynamics system but you'd never have enough bricks for it to matter. The base cars were cool to, you just couldn't do anything with it though. There really need to be another Racer game that uses a modified version of the Digital Designer and with the brick upgrade system from one.

>>259728292
It did improve over 1 but it fucked up by having a limit on bricks you could use. If they let you use more bricks I'd be happy but 20 is just insufficient. And you only got one car to use for an area. Also I wish that the upgrades you got were more noticeable.

>The only thing I didn't like was how the power system worked (I thought it was superior in the first one)

You are right about this. It removed an element of strategy (admittedly it was grab green and white) I felt.
And burg did suck.
