Face it, everything that's "disproving" this leak is just grasping at straws. Nobody can find the Duck Hunt render anywhere else and the Tomodachi Life stage had a never-before-seen area that was confirmed by Famitsu a day later. This has been proven right in one more solid way than any of these disprovings have.

I'll be honest though, Wario looks fucking awful and I hope his portrait gets changed in the next 3 weeks. Christ.

The thing is the unfinished roster order in Melee and Brawl make some sense. In Melee, after you unlock the first unlockable character they go to their spot and a row of ?'s move in. When you unlock Luigi, Pikachu goes to his real spot and Luigi takes his place. Then the clones show up right next to their bases just to the side. In Brawl, newly unlocked characters get inserted straight into their spot, which would then wrap around dynamically to the next row when one row filled up; it would be like sorting the list of letters alphabetically by putting them in front or behind relative letters, it looks like gibberish at first but makes sense at the end.

You can handwave the clones in this leak because they're clones who are right next to each other. The big issue is Yoshi; he's right in between Bowser and Rosalina, both Mushroom Kingdom reps (as evidenced by their mushroom icon), while Yoshi has always been considered a separate "Yoshi" series rep (his egg, which you can see on his page on the official site). This splits up the Mushroom Kingdom reps, and considering that the rest of the roster is /mostly/ in order there isn't really a major factor that could make it so that he doesn't split the MK reps, unless there's a character not yet unlocked that would supplant him like Luigi and Pikachu in Melee. But, if that's the case there where would Yoshi go? He's technically a one-off series character so he could realistically go anywhere, but he would probably be closer to the top near the other Mario-related characters, so G&W's position would make the most sense, but then that requires more shuffling around. The organization system needed to account for Yoshi's position is nowhere near as elegant or simple as Melee and Brawl had.

One, there's no Ice Climbers. They are not leaving, no matter how hard they may be to implement on the 3DS. Period. This isn't even fanboyism, I don't use them ever when I play smash. They just are not leaving.

Two, the three "new" clones are all lumped together irregardless of series. Everything else is more or less aligned by their series (though it's hardly perfect) but they're all in their own space. It'd be one thing if Toon Link and Ganondorf were there as well, but they aren't.

Lastly, look at it closely. There is no gap for the 3DS. Both the top and bottom screen are connected.

Let's take a step back. In previous games it was clear what indication meant the character had been selected, a transparent portrait in Brawl meant they were still unselected while an opaque one meant it was selected. This indicator was simple, intuitive, and instantly understood. If the thickness of the line is supposed to be an indicator of selection, then how can one know if thick or thin means selected? There's nothing intuitive about it, they could have easily made it so that thin meant unselected just as easily as they supposedly made thick to mean unselected. They could have had other options to make it more clear, such as a slight shimmering or glowing animation along the line, or perhaps affecting the player numer, or the player name, or the character name, a clear "on" position of some sort. There is a myriad of things they could have done that would have more easily indicated that the character was selected or not that doesn't involve changing the thickness of the line. I refuse the believe Sakurai and his crew would make a gameplay element that obtuse with so many better alternatives.
