thanks men it means a lot
Anon, I don't really know how to tell you this.
I do like this, because you can pretty well match a lot of this stuff up with the actual game shot for shot. Far Cry 3 was flawed, but the environment design was superb.
This store was weird. You only go to it once and everyother store was a vending machine
yeah and there's a vending machine where you spawn if you fast travel to amanaki, so there's basically no point besides the opening scene.
We see it all the time, post something new.
It just became a thing, OK.
what are you trying to say?
Wish there was more stalker concept art and whatnot.
Welp. I'm out.
What is it about TLOU that makes it look almost nothing like that? I mean, I know it's a last gen video game but there's just something about the color scheme and lighting that makes it look so bland and plastic compared to that art. Even modded STALKER has a better sense of atmosphere.
I also have quite a few area's in my city and around it that have that Roadside Picnic and Stalkeresque feeling to it.
Helps that I live in a post soviet block.
Lord of the rings:Online has fucking stellar designs, all of which are in the game but cant be appreciated on account of the game being old as fuck and looks like ass and the game itself being paywall as fuck. Such a shame.
oh fuck I completely forgot I was dumping somehow, continuing on.
Gonna have to disagree with you on that one.
render of that armour
Wish the game looked like this
I don't know, it's hard to appreciate LOTRO's design not because it's bad, but because the movies and their design was so fucking good it can't live up to it.
Sad that "normal" armour isnt something often seen in games but is a no brainer in everything else.
Do people usually dump the entire dark souls artbook? My apologies if they do.
>Instead of contributing he wasted a post to bitch
yeah it is kind of weird seeing the effort they put in to the junkwrap around your dude/dudette.
Dishonored kinda did that, art was posted of it in the last thread. I've heard Skyward Sword also tried to do that, but I haven't played
Anyone have the Witcher 2 artbook?
I think it comes with the GoG release, not dumping it though. After this I'm done.
Don't think I do, only one that has smough is the first one I posted, and I don't think it shows it. He's definitely not that tall though.
Oh, that's a shame. Usually it starts an arguement.
>you will never be a really talented concept artist
These threads are always full of Souls concept art, Id like to see people post something else for a change.
Now I'm done. Hope you all had a good night.
this, Im not going to say stop posting it but I imagine weve all seen these before several times.
I keep thinking the Lord of the Ring stuff is armour from DaS and get confused theyre quite nice.
Practice. You can do it anon. Anyway, I really wonder what would Final Fantasy look like today if they had rather used Yoshitaka Amano for their concepts instead of only letting him do some illustrations. It probably would have been the bomb.
I have the Dark Souls II digital artbook but I'm a lazy shit so here you go.
Why would you want to be a concept artist? You work a shitty game industry job shitting out photobashed garbage day after day for bad games that no one will ever play or care about. It's void of creativity and almost purely technical. It's just as mind-numbing as working a programming job in the industry.
but I'm such a lazy fucker
if I was able to get my shit together and actually practice and improve I would be a god
i just try to make something and throw it away because it's shit or stare at a blank paper for hours
i fucked myself in the ass so much by stopping to art when i was young
I know this. I used to draw myself a lot. I still always save any kind of references I could use, and write down inspirations for stories, because i still want to draw some stories some day, butI just dont do it. I just rather sit on /v/ or play dumb arcade games.
Do it. There's really nothing else to say.
I have a folder with inspo but it's really just good photographs and art I'm stealing, I never get my shit together and make anything myself
the worst part is that I know how things are supposed to look like but I can't make them look that way anymore
Im always torn in what to pursue, concept, comics or
porn. Comics takes forever and Im quite lax, concept takes skill which I lack enough of to pull of concepts adequately and porn is just easy to please people with but I didnt get into art to do it. As long as youre at least trying youre doing the right thing, right?
>Comics takes forever
It depends on how you look at it or what kind of stories you want to make.
You also can just look at it that way that you see every chapter as a "finished" artwork.
Or you also can draw only short stories, which take only one chapter.
I already have a reference folder as big as 1.8GB with all kinds of stuff, and also many artworks from artists, but I also never make anthing myself. Not anymore at least.
When I still had no internet, there I was still more productive, but now that I have internet and lots of inspiration, I dont do anything myself anymore.
Then start. Right now. What the fuck is talking about it gonna do. Do something, don't talk about how you're not doing something.
im no the guy but im in a very similar situation
i actually just tried to make something, but it took me an hour to get going and then i could tell it looked like shit so i stopped
now im sitting here and saving all the art form the art threads into my folders
Im just telling him that I know how he feels. But you are right. One just has to do it. Its pretty simple actually.
I guess I just became too hedonistic for this. Drawing and painting really takes patience. Patience i cant really find anymore.
You'll never be satisfied but you fucking keep at it.
I've written hundreds of songs and I'm OKAY with maybe 7 of them right now. You keep going until you're okay with something, put it out there for people to see, go from there.
That's because you're used to the instant gratification of video games. Drawing takes time, it takes effort. Video games isn't like that at all, gotta get out of that mindset man.
My african american compatriot.
Im in the process of one actually but have no incentive to continue with it until I git gudder. Also dont know if I should continue drawing animus, I love realistic concept art but also love cartoony aesthetics, attempts to combine the two are a work in progress.
Hey that's pretty good, just needs some nice coloring and it would be nice
Continue if you have time, you git gudder by drawing more. Just draw whatever you like, you can experiment with different styles and stuff until you find a good balance of what you like, I've seen some good mixes between realistic/animu
Her VA is in the credits.
Is she gonna be in one of the crowns DLC?
I thought the Shanolotte we find in the Dragon Aerie is the "child" version because her voice is a lot higher.
It might have been that she was a kid in the Aerie for whatever reason, as her voice is pretty different (especially if you hit the bonfire there and talk to her in Majula, it's really sounds like a different actress.) There might be legal reasons that in the credits "child" Shanolotte's VA has to remain even if the character isn't since they used her voice and didn't re-record it for that part for whatever reason.
