Have you ever made sprite OC's, /v/? Be honest, whether it's just sprite recolors or not.
Me and a bunch of other nerds would hang out on a forum for a Kirby fan game and make our own shitty fangames
I was paid to work on iphone games about 3 times, but the people working on them couldn't formulate a fucking sentence when it came to what they wanted. Couldn't get anything done because they changed their mind every couple days.
the LSW sprite community evolved a lot but I haven't evolved much myself because I am bad with shading and I stick more with classic sheets
That's an actual game I made with a friend a while ago.
it get more fun when you start making your own hair, and clothes
It was not really meant to be 2:1, and either way it's pretty old.
I made tilesets, then manually made a preview.
This one is simple but I find it mesmerizing.
My talents are mostly in editing, so I don't make many OCs.
This isn't an OC, though, it's an original armor for X.
It's head part reduces subweapon power usage, and allows you to guide your charged shot up or down slightly.
The arm parts grant you a straightforward powerful buster shot that rips through enemies regardless of whether or not it kills them, and can destroy certain areas of the environment.
The leg parts allow you to dash over pits, spikes, and up\down walls, as well as reducing how much you slide on icy surfaces.
The body parts reduce the damage you take from enemies (as usual) and can prevent wind from pushing you around.
The ultimate attack of the armor overcharges the Buster, allowing you to fire non-stop fully charged buster shots for 20 seconds.
I don't think I'll finish this today or tomorrow. I usually post my sheets on dragonballvortex.com in my customs topic
I did some shit for a Starbound mod I made back when the game had SOME potential.
I stopped when I gave up on the game.
I lost all of my sprite work except for this one, I wish I got better at making sprites from scratch before I stopped.
I made this for a friend to be used for a tabletop game about magical girls as part of my first try at pixel art.
I've done some graphical hacks on some NES and SNES stuff years ago, but I don't really have anything to show for it picture wise, outside of my fun in finding out about all the unused graphics in river city ransom, and then playing through the japanese version to find out they weren't used in that either.
Stuff like a nude merchant, actual scenes for the ending, and I believe some unused NPC sprites.
and in the comic section I make a sprite comic but to see the sprite content you'd have to register
but she's not sheeted though, just a few poses and a standing pose
This thread motivated me, I'm gonna try and do some more sprite shit.
Highly likely it'll be Jojo related though.
I recognize that style from the face alone.
So many people couldn't do X series style human bodies... Then again, that entire style was a bitch to work with, rules in it changing between games.
Glad to see you weren't just giving X a wig, pants and a shirt. Nothing quite says 'this character is human' like gigantic clown legs.
Not sure where most of my sprites are but here's Cloud in the style of Jump Ultimate Stars.
Yeah, for a really rushed school project I did a bunch of sets of animations for this character, an enemy and thats about it. I didn't design the character entirely (I designed her looks but not her colors).
It was my first attempt at spriting and animating but I think it turned out alright despite being rushed out in a day.
Comic story time
Warning! may content autism (also bad english because I'm French)
I don't know, start with any sprite style and try to edit the clothing/hair
Made a little dungeon crawler for school a while ago.
It was my first time making sprites so it's very simple.
Imma want to make something thing like this but better, any pro-tips?
>Long before I was wrapping up High School in 2005
>Was making an RM2K game with custom sprites and re-tooled sprites from the Iria;Zeiram SNES game to make a full RPG with my own custom combat mechanics
>Like an idiot never backed up my assets onto anything but a CDRW
>Disc becomes unreadable, lose everything
Thanks for reminding me.
Ey, Doomfag just passing by
would you guys be interested in doing Doom-ish sprites anytime in the near/long future?
we could use more spritebros in our community
allow me to dump some custom sprites (which aren't mine, sorry for that) as example
I dungoofed the spoiler
it's called "The new Tales of Goseb & Champania" because I had an old version of the comic and I completely started over my story.
well i think that's it for now.
I'm doing spritework for the Super Robot Wars Eternity fan game.
Should I not click the spoiler button and just leave it like this, or spoil the pages?
Legendary Super Warriors on Gameboy, I am stuck on Vegeta because he pulls out bullshit cards everytime
it's not like I think /v/ will read that even if I post it
last page because that's where I am in my terrible story because I lack writing experience to make spite comic.
>tfw when making skeletons
I have to remember that it won't look like a mesh of different colors when I finish it but damn is it hard to not just scrap it.
This is the prequel of "The new Tales of Goseb & Champania", though I haven't continued much and barely made any pages.
from my old game making days
god everything looked pathetic
I've made tons of it, actually, Sadly, most of my work is on another old as fuck hard drive from the PC I had 5 years ago. I've been spriting from 14 years old to about 20. although I always did edits rather than original creations and I didn't practice like all the other popular sprite artists today.
I used to have one of the Spriter who works on the Megaman X Corruption fangame in my MSN friendlist. He was cool for a while, then he started talking to me about magic and virtual realities and I was too freaked out to talk to him. I wonder if this was just an edgy teen phase he had or if he's still that much of a lunatic. He was REALLY talented, though.
Anyways, might as well share what little I can salvage from old forums I submitted my work on.
I used to work very hard for sprites for a fangame idea that I had and I started editing SNES Megaman X Sprites so that they would ressemble their animation pattern of the Playstation games more.
This fangame idea of mine turned out to be Megaman X corruption. I still worked on them for fun, though and intend to do it again once I recover my old stuff.
Of course I have. pic not related, but still something I made.
I also realized all of the MMX sheets I have recovered are from old sources because I d remember having heavily edited these sheets before I lost my computer. For instance, I remember having done a huge cleaning job on this Zero sprite sheet where I cleaned up the saber effects a bit and took time to proprerly redraw stances and animations. I remember adding a Zero front flip double jump like in X6 because I thought it was really cool.
I think I might just recover that hard drive that I lost because I suddenly really feel like working on my old stuff.
Made a couple sprites. I remember making a self-insert oc out of a megaman sprite when I was younger and wanting to make a whole sprite comic revolving round him. Really dodged the bullet there.
Some of my old MSN buddies convinced me to make a sonic OC. I did it just to fit in, I'd never even played sonic at that point. It was just a dark red tails.
This is the most intricate of the bunch and my personal favorite. No Sylveon though.
Two OCs I made... I was a neko anime faggot back then. I eventually even made PSX style and MMZ styled versions too..
>tfw your crappy sprite comics from high school are still up
>tfw you can never take them down because you forgot your login
>tfw the handle you still used today is named after this stuff
I made a gif of her masturbating.
I lost it.
I used to try and edit FE sprites/portraits, years back.
Stopped once I got bored, I wasn't very good at it anyway.
I tried making sprites for Cortex Command like 5 years ago, but never really got to figuring out how to make them work in game
This is a crab walker thingie I guess
i still remember the story i made up for this edgy faggot
something about an evil spirit trapped inside the chaos emeralds (yes all of them) that took the form of super sonic after enough negative energy was released through continued use to revive him
the villain catch i had made up was he would keep a shard of the master emerald around his neck because if it became wholly complete he would be absorbed back into it
i did make sprites but they dont exist anymore
at least not on this compute,r id have to dig out the ol dusty desktop from 2008 or so
was just a super sonic with black shoes and sunglasses on his forehead anyway
