I'm developing a Zelda-style game with some other guys. I've posted about it here before, so you may have seen it already. Pic related; the bestiary so far.
Anyway, every post ITT ending in 5 gets to design an enemy for the game. As long as they're nothing inappropriate (the big blob of "toothpaste" is already more than enough), I'll sprite them and add them in! When the thread reaches 150 replies, I'll link to the game's blog.
Also, if the thread 404's before I get everyone, I'll check the archives and do every. single. five.
And I'll post 'em to the blog.
Emperor Tamarin with psychic powers.
I decided to take an even darker turn on this and make the cause of his death a parasite. Hence the parasitic spikes coming out of his back.
Thank you! The Axe Bird is the first boss, FYI.
Here's the shell!
>You ever get in contact with that autist trying to make monster sounds for you?
Indeed I did! He emailed me, and his sounds are great.
I'm on it!
I see you were in that thread! She hasn't replied yet. Probably killed herself or something.
We already have one like that. It's in the image. Wait - you know that, don't you. Sneaky bastard.
I feel like there ought to be a reroll limit here to not make the whole thing pointless.
You've definitely crossed it.
Cicada or some other bug that incorporates leaving its shed skin behind as some kind of mechanic
No. This will happen, he has a 1 in 10 chance of doing double damage.
Fern Shrub with a big angry eyebrow
Moth here. Gave it a leaf motif, and a cute name.
Up next: The moment you've all been waiting for...
alright i drew this guy here, let's see if i can get a 5.
A spider that moves around leaving silk, and a puppet that can only move of the silk the spider leaves. Give the spider a "electric" look and maybe swirly eyes. Make the puppet wear a hat and blue.
It's a lizard. That barfs smaller lizards.
Here it is, folks! Now onto the next batch of fives.
I'm on it!
Sorry, can't. FNAF is a great game, but I pride myself in originality.
>Inb4 you're taking other people's design ideas
Yeah, but I'm drawing the designs myself.

Amicitia Rumina - more commonly known as a 'Horrific Romance'
Description: While technically two creatures living symbiotically, the creatures composing Amicitia Rumina (commonly referred to as Top and Bottom) have never been seen surviving without one another. Standing 4 feet high, these creatures tower over most typical fauna. Their limbs are very much like a human arms, though the bottom portion uses them for travel and the top portion uses them to cling to the bottom and slam itself down Their hands end in sharp, thick claws and its skin is scabrous and tough, much like leather. Tops have large crimson teeth in a complete circle around its bottom and a prehensile tongue, two things Bottoms lack. Amicitis Rumina have no eyes or ears, rendering Bottoms completely blind. However Tops are able to sense their surroundings using their tongue to feel movement in the air with which it 'steers' the Bottom using its hands. Using its body weight to stun its prey, the Amicitia Rumina will then scoop the prey onto the top of the Bottom, where the Top will get to work crushing the prey into digestible pieces. The Top eats through a small hole on its underside, and similarly the Bottom eats through a small hole on its topside. With the way these creatures stay together for life and their 'mouths' constantly face each other, they are commonly referred to as a 'Horrific Romance.'
An enemy that has a shield and a really long spear.
They have a couple little attacks that you just have to block/dodge.
Then they have a big lunge they commit to and a second afterward you have to attack the spear to spin them around so you can hit them in the back.

Behavior: Both portions of Amicitia Rumina are two separate creatures of the same species; Top being a male and Bottom being the female. At birth Tops and Bottoms immediately seek a mate (sometimes from their own brothers or sisters) that they will stay with for life. Without a Bottom, Tops break their teeth on the ground and cut or dismember their tongue. Similarly, Bottoms have no way to break up their food without a Top. Amicitia Rumina are solitary creatures; being born fully ready to hunt they leave their parents right away. Though impressive in many ways, their one major flaw is that they are lumbering and loud, weighing close to five hundred pounds. Amicitia Rumina do not prowl to hunt their prey, they simply rush it down, slam into it until paralyzed, and then devour it.
Hey wait a minute, your that guy from the game ideas thread
It's about time you started posting again. I saw your blog(it's about time you made one) you should add an ask me option. You still doing the music? Have any new tracks?
Thank you based OP
>that feel when it ends up being an enemy you see once and is super annoying
A tall person with tentacle in place of human limbs wearing a bird mask. He wears a big jacket, which he opens to throw projectiles at you. When he opens his jacket, you can see that he is wearing a vest and slacks with suspenders.
Okay, I'm going to stop spriting now, because my tired brain can only handle so much spriting. This shall be the last one I do.
So, this is now an ask me anything thread. As me anything about the game we're working on, about where I am, about why my best friend is sitting next to me playing TF2, anything.
how will enemies be grouped? will it be a huge clusterfuck of crazy enemies in one place or will there be a Ghostly fast food resturaunt featuring the ghost burger? Or a spider cave featuring tower spider and other spidery things?
>Have I made any other games
Just one. A shitty shmup. Its data is long-gone by now. This was years before I actually got into serious developement.
>What is the plot so far?
The story is that the wealthy owner of the lovely Mullican estate, McKinley Mullican , recently had a heart attack and died. Before his death, you, the main character, were great friends with Mullican, and he left you all his inheritance in his will. The only problem is, In order to prove it, you need a physical copy of the will, and the will is in a briefcase on the top floor of the manor, so you need to retrieve it from there. This is problematic, because the mansion is cursed. No “rumors of a curse”, no “legend of a curse”, it’s just a widely known FACT that the mansion is cursed.
The setting is a haunted mansion. It's spooky, but comedically so.
We have a few, but we'd love another! My email is email@example.com. Email me some of your art, and I'll see if you're a good fit!
The entire game takes place in a haunted mansion, divided into an overworld and dungeons.
The dungeons are:
Hard to say. The game is extremely early in developement, barely anything but a physics engine at this point. In terms of final sprites, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Different enemies will appear in different areas. The enemy placement will most often make sense according to its area. You know, like in Zelda.
I did. It was shit compared to the rest of the music (due to the fact that I was using a MIDI program and didn't understand music theory quite as well back then), so I decided to stop working on the project.
What's wrong? Still bitter over
He has not been sprited yet, but he's going to be a detective-type guy with a trenchcoat and bowler.
Oh. So you're actually mad.
Sorry to bother.
oh and by the way
the fucker school
Sorry, anon, but I'm not taking ideas anymore for today.
Unless you type out "Josue is a faggot" in three different languages. No google translate allowed. Then I'll add your idea.
